Disappointed,as pizzas used to be lovely here. Now doing pizettes which came out small and burnt. Looking at all the other tables theirs were also burnt, so obviously the intention. Little flavour other than burnt flavour really. Also chocolate basque cheesecake just tasted of olive oil. Wouldn't eat there again. Two party's left while we were there after viewing the menu. Good for drinking, cocktails etc but not for supper. Shame really.

We visited as a special treat while away over half term. There was a nice atmosphere and the decor is beautiful. That's where the positives pretty much ended. Slow service (although friendly), with long wait times on food. The restaurant is small and wasn't over crowded so the food really shouldn't have taken as long as they did. We ordered pizza as had heard they were the best in St ives. Ours, however, looked poorly constructed with holes in the dough and uneven toppings. The base was horribly over done and hollow and very crunchy to the bite, and the toppings were pretty flavourless. There were similar complaints from the table who were sat next to us, they said it used to be very good and that the food and service was definitely terrible. Was such a shame as was so, so looking forward to this and it was the only 'nice' meal while we were away and really wish we hadn't bothered. The prices are on the steep side anyway, but when the food is so poor makes it completely unacceptable. We should have read the more recent reviews.

Late arrival on a Sunday night in St Ives. The staff where very accommodating and whilst a short menu what we ate was very well presented and tasty. Would certainly go again. The fit out is great and a characterful building - looks like an old bank or post office.

Really gone down hill. The food was very poor this visit. Burnt Yorkshire pudding and dry and tough meat. The gravy was also very oily and thin which was very disappointing. Food served at a tepid heat also. Was sat near the kitchen and could hear the chef swearing and complaining about how hungover he was. Which I assume is why the food has gone so down hill! Service was okay, but the overall experience was very poor and not at all value for money. Would recommend spending your money elsewhere sadly.

Held our Golden Wedding Anniversary party at The Host. Always loved this place so we were thrilled when Rassi confirmed he was able to accommodate us for this special party. The food and cocktails surpassed our expectations. The service was exemplary. The night was made memorable by the total satisfaction of all our guests. Massive thanks to Rassi and his wonderful team for all their hard work. Highly recommended by us all.

Terrible service, no one has any clue what they were doing. Pizza was lack luster- it was burnt and lacking most toppings other than grease. The staff were rude and clueless - one waiter said to me that we could just get a takeaway pizza instead once we had complained that we were sat on a shared table with other people. It took them 25 minutes to ask us for drinks and took an eternity for the food to come!!

The Host is a little unassuming, yes its a pizza restaurant but its also much more. The menu is good and will suit most tastes, one of our visits was on Sunday when I had the smoked roast beef - I cleaned the plate! Well done chef! The cocktails are also pretty good and the oversize espresso martini is well worth a dabble :-) The wine list is also good, I had a bottle of the NZ sauvignon blanc which is decent value for money. Ambiance is great with the large shared table being one of my favourites. The staff are helpful and chatty so well done guys ! The question is. Would I go back? I already did !!!

Popped in for drinks for the 1st ever visit and saw a Sunday Roast come out and thought WOW, we've gotta have that, so ordered some. Beef was very nice and there was plenty of it, which was great. We would of rated 5 out of 5 but the roasters weren't crispy and the meal itself was almost cold when it arrived. Also the tender stem broccoli would have been Fantastic but it was a little too aldente. The staff were great and did ask if all was ok but what can you do about it, we don't want it microwaved. All in all the meal just needs a couple of minor tweaks to be perfect but fresh food being hot is something that's non negotiable for us, so unsure if we'll go back and risk paying for another great meal that's not hot enough.

Had a stunning Sunday lunch today at Host, always amazing taste and quality and great vibe with fabulous staff and beautiful decor. The best Sunday lunch in St Ives and great value for money. We both had beef which was cooked to perfection. Great selection of drinks - mango martini a personal favourite!
