"A wonderful youth hostel right in the heart of Shangri-La’s old town. The location is perfect—on a quiet little street, yet just steps away from all the amenities. The hostel is very clean and pleasant. There is a restaurant that serves good breakfasts, as well as both Chinese and Western dishes.
And finally, the owner who welcomed us—or at least the person who did—was very friendly and also spoke English, which was really helpful for giving us advice on what to do around Shangri-La and how to get to each point of interest.
I highly recommend this hostel, and we plan to return after our stay in the surrounding area of Shangri-La."

"Needless to say, this place has a great environment. We drove there by ourselves, but we couldn't leave because of the heavy snow. They are also close to the Old Town, and the toiletries are all purchased from Walmart. The air conditioner warms up very quickly, and you won't feel cold once you go in. I went there when it snowed heavily in Shangri-La. It was really great, and the breakfast was quite rich, with fried dough sticks, baba, oil tea, etc. The price is also very cost-effective! The hygiene is also very good!"

"Thai people can read the reviews. The accommodation is inexpensive, about 100 meters from the north gate, convenient and not far from Dafo Temple. It is in a location to go to Songzanlin Temple. Just walk to the bus stop in front of the north gate, line 3, only 2 yuan, sit for 15 minutes to the temple. Convenient, near the food court and delicious milk tea shop. The cleanliness may not be very clean, but the service of the owner of the accommodation is considered to be full. There is also help to receive the wheeled bag. Overall, I am impressed. There are electric blankets and air conditioning."

"I had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel. The overall atmosphere was welcoming and peaceful.

"For foreigners, it might be difficult to find the right building because the sign board shows as ”Liudeng Innl”. However, it is easy to get here from the train station by bus #7 and taxi. The owner and wife are friendly and helpful. Even I comes to bother their dinner, they ask me to join and help me immediately. The room #928 is hugh and clean. Beds are firm and comfortable. They comes with elctronic blankets. Moreover, there is a movable heater which is really useful in the freezing night. Surprisingly, I can see the landmark of the Big Praying Wheel from the window of my bathroom. One thing annoying me is that shower is diificult to control between hot and cold water. I need only warm water but it always swing between very hot and cold every 10-15 seconds.
I ask the owner to book a taxi for my early check-out to get the bus to Yading. He kindly offers me a free pick-up by his car. Thank you very much.

"A great option for staying in Diqing. Within walking distance of the main town. Nice and cosy with the electric blankets. Nicest shower I've had in Asia so far. The best part was the host generously giving us a lift to the train station early in the morning of our departure."

SSultan_almutairiI would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to the management and staff of this wonderful hotel in Shangri-La. Honestly, without any exaggeration, this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at in China.
I booked a suite, and it was extremely spacious with a luxurious and modern design that reflects exquisite taste in every detail. The cleanliness was exceptional, and the view was absolutely breathtaking — like a living painting of nature. The hotel’s level goes beyond 5 stars; I consider it a true luxury five-star experience.
The location is excellent, and the services provided cover everything you can imagine — an amazing restaurant, complete amenities, and outstanding comfort.
A special thank you to the wonderful staff who offered top-notch hospitality and were incredibly helpful in every way. I’d also like to give a heartfelt thank you to the hotel owner, Mr. Kajo, and his wife. Mr. Kajo was incredibly kind and generous, and personally helped me organize and plan my trips during my stay — from transportation to activities — making everything smooth and enjoyable.
Their warm and welcoming attitude made our stay even more special. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit Shangri-La. Trust me, you won’t regret it. This was one of the most outstanding hotel experiences I’ve had in China, and I will definitely return again.

GGuest UserThe room is new and clean, the decoration is also very good, very modern and high-end, the oxygen supply machine is also super good, and the altitude sickness is obviously much better when I am in the room. The most important thing is that the boss lady and the boss are super super nice. When we couldn't find the lights on the floor that were turned off at almost 12 o'clock in the evening, the boss came up to help us check. Thanks to the boss's wife for taking us to the station the next day, otherwise we would have almost missed it. Highly recommend this hotel!

LLaiJoy's guesthouse is for those who want a bit more peace and quiet. Even though it is only about 2km down the road from Tina's Guest House and the bus depot, it feels like a world away from the crowds. Even though it is well catered to guests, we were still able to catch glimpses of people living their lives tending to the fields and animals. The food was delicious and plenty and made fresh on the spot! We loved the dumplings and they even accommodated our request of wrapping it up then reheating them for our next day's lunch. The room was spacious and came with all the mod cons, including built in heating for the bathroom and heating/air con unit for the room. Even having said all that, the most spectacular thing about the room had to be the view. The giant windows over looking the rice terraces, Yulong snow mountain and the roaring river was something out of a movie!!!! And on top of that, Joy was extremely helpful when the strong winds prevented my drone was returning back to me, she took us in her car to successfully retrieve it. I can't recommend Joy's guesthouse highly enough!
Tip: take the Ray of sunshine route (take a right about 500m after arriving at Tina's guesthouse). You will need to pay 15CNY to get down to the gorge, we'll worth it, then another 15CNY to take the Ray of Sunshine path to Sean's guest house (which is just down the road from Joy's). The latter path was one of our favourites as we had the path all to ourselves!

The room was very comfortable and had oxygen supply, which really saved me from altitude sickness. The lady also recommended a lot of attractions and restaurants, which was great! ! ! There is also a puppy in the store, it is super cute! Shangri-La is super beautiful, I will stay here next time I come🥰

GGuest UserThis trip to Tiger Leaping Gorge is very worthwhile. The happiest and happiest thing is to meet Tingtao Yage. There were many children staying that day. Our children had a lot of fun and were super happy. They didn't want to leave. The daughter of the owner of Tingtao Yage is only eight years old. She is super capable. She serves tea and water to guests and looks like an adult. I must give her a thumbs up. Their service is really great. They took the initiative to call us, carefully explained the precautions, added WeChat, and informed us of the road conditions in time. It was no problem to drive slowly on the rural road that was a few hundred meters into the village. The room was very clean, the quilt was dry, and I slept very comfortably. You can eat the fruits on the trees at will. They are a super generous family. If I have time in the future, I will definitely come here and stay for a few months.

NnfzlnThe Inn is very near the gate, easily found and near the square market, the location was very strategic, the owner was also very helpful and he suggested me to the Halal food nearest the town, and also can book a day trip to Balagezong with them. The room is very clean and big, has an electric blanket and portable heater, but not a heated floor. you can see the town from the inn and also can stargazing at the second floor.

Tttag1289This place is a hidden gem and it does have a few twists and turns to get there. It is great place and the family are so friendly and helpful!! The main host lady can speak some English, but she understood what we were talking and asking. Everyone was sooo friendly. The check in was very smooth and the room was so spacious! The view of the mountain in our room was breathtaking. The bathroom is very modern, the shower had great water pressure and there was no waiting for hot water. The bed was comfy, towels were nice and soft and the AC worked very well. They had tea leaves in the room if you wanted to make yourself a nice cup of tea. The view from the roof top was fantastic. The family had all the supplies you may need for hiking such as snacks, drinks, rain pants ponchos, water, tissues, hats etc. They have a good range of Chinese food and what we ate for lunch and breakfast were very tasty. On the menu they had apple pie and banana pie. The pastry tasted like doughnut. Although it would go nicely with ice cream, we enjoyed it. Sorry we were too hungry, that we forgot to take pictures of our delicious food. The family organized a driver to take our luggage to the next homestay, while we hiked on. When we arrived to other locations, our bags were there. This is a place, that is you should consider staying at when hiking along the Tiger Leaping Gorge. Also, the best part of staying at this place is that you meet so many friendly hikers. Totally recommend it!🙌🏼👍👍👍👍

XXiaoguixifeifeiThe owner of the inn is very kind. He even came to pick me and my friend up at the high-speed rail station when we arrived at 11pm! Then when we left, the boss got up at 6 o'clock in the morning to take us to the high-speed rail station. When we arrived at 11 o'clock in the evening, the boss helped us get in touch with us to take a ride to the Meili Snow Mountain to see the Rizhao Jinshan Mountain. We arrived at the B&B and drank fruit and butter tea! The sanitary environment is very good! The equipment is all brand new and said to be newly opened this year! Highly recommend everyone to stay here

GGuest UserWe book for 2 night stay here and extend for one more night. We really love the ambient of the hotel. They had a small beautiful yard/ garden welcoming you to the hotel. You even get free flow of mineral water and can borrow their cowboy hats. Haha
Our room comes with one stand heater, warm blanket and air conditioner ( can set until 30•C). Enough to warm both of us. Shangrila is quite cold compared to other city we visited in Yunan. The location really strategic. Walking distance to East gate of Dukezong City where scenic bus station located and not far from Dufeng Prayer Wheel. If you take bus from Tina, the first stop at Shangri-La city only walking distance to the hotel. If you take DiDi, the car can send you to the hotel without much walking. Within 500m, you can find 4 halal restaurants. If you want to go to Xiangyang farm product market (you can find halal bakery here) it’s just 1 km walk. Along the walk, you can find a local park with clear water and beautiful view.
Owner very helpful. Despite the language barrier, he tried all he can to help us. We planned to go to Balagezong on second day but really clueless since not much information on the internet. Mostly people went there via travel agency. With his help, we manage to secure ticket to the national park. He and his wife even walk us to the bus station where we need to catch the bus the next early morning.
On the last day here, owner even offered to send us to the railway station. On the way to the station, he stopped by a ******* restaurant and get us some delicious warm yak milk and ghee tea (we should try earlier. This one very delicious 🤤). That’s really generous of him. If we were coming back to Shangrila again, we would book this hotel again without doubt.

The room facilities are advanced, equipped with a full set of daily necessities, smart devices, projection, and feeding machines, making people feel like at home. The sanitation is impressive, and every corner is sparkling and meticulous. The young man at the front desk is warm and thoughtful, always willing to help, and always responds quickly whenever there is a need. The location is perfect. It is located in the center of Dukezong Ancient City. It is located in the scenic area. You can see the beautiful scenery of the ancient city as soon as you go out. It is also very convenient to go to other scenic spots. It is only three or four minutes away from the main road. If you have something, the young brother at the front desk can also ride a small electric donkey to send it to you on the roadside. The transportation is extremely convenient. In short, this is an unforgettable accommodation experience. If I come to Shangri-La next time, I will still firmly choose this homestay. I highly recommend it!
