Lyn RI will definitely stay here again when I come back to Sydney. I arrived early and left my luggage to explore the city, the hotel called me as soon as the room was already available and my luggage was also brought to the room (shout out to the Filipino receptionist for helping, sorry I forgot his name 🥹)
Pros:
- free 24/7 coffee and tea
- complimentary breakfast (pastry, fruits, biscuits) not buffet BUT definitely a great help to fuel your day especially if you are on the go.
- 7 mins walk from Central Station (exit via Elizabeth St.) Very convenient for train and tram transport. Also walking distance to Paddy’s Market and Chinatown.
- staff are all super nice and accommodating.
- basic toiletries provided: body gel, shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion and shower cap. (NO toothbrush and toothpaste so bring your own. NO cotton buds too)
- ironing board and iron in the room.
Cons:
- 4 star for the cleanliness cause I can see dusts in the side table. I feel like the room i stayed in wasn't thoroughly cleaned.
- while the room i booked was supposedly good for 2, the space is actually small even for just one person. Its hard to open a big luggage.

wendyppI initially booked a one-bedroom apartment here for just two nights as a stopover before moving to the Shangri-La. However, my kids loved the apartment layout and the fact that we could cook. The space was surprisingly large and very clean. Unit 07 might be bigger than average, and it even has a huge balcony. While the decor is a bit older, the bathroom has a Japanese style, and all the corners were quite clean. We ended up extending our stay for three more nights, upgrading to a more expensive, newly renovated deluxe one-bedroom apartment. But it was clear that the older units were more spacious, and the new one just had newer facilities. The older apartment definitely offers better value for money. The location is also very convenient, with easy access to public transport, the metro, dining, and supermarkets, making it ideal for families traveling with children.

Guest UserOverall, the location and environment were fine. However, when checking out, a staff member at the front desk told us to attach the luggage tags ourselves when we asked to store our bags. I found this completely unacceptable. Even for a four-star hotel, this is unreasonable. Plus, the luggage tags themselves were of very poor quality and broke immediately when we tried to attach them, which was extremely annoying for guests. This service really brought down the whole experience.

PinweizhongdejimoI highly recommend the Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour! The overall experience was superb, and the service was exceptionally attentive. The front desk offers Chinese-speaking staff, and a lovely girl from Suzhou was particularly warm and thoughtful, proactively helping with various issues and kindly sharing local travel tips. This makes the hotel very friendly to Chinese tourists. The hotel's location is excellent, backing onto Chinatown and right next to Darling Harbour Pier, making it incredibly convenient for getting around and finding food. Plus, it's a pick-up point for local day tour groups, which makes joining tours very hassle-free. Both the convenience of travel and the service experience are impeccable. For Chinese friends visiting Sydney, I highly recommend choosing this hotel.

Guest UserIt's in a great location and the unit is quite spacious but unfortunately that's about as good as it gets. Parking is an extra fee which I didn't see mentioned anywhere and despite booking through trip.com reception takes a $200 security deposit. There's no direct access to the units from the parking garage and no lifts to higher levels. We had a lot of luggage as a family of 6 but it was manageable for us as we were on ground floor it might be an issue for people on higher floors. The receptionist said ”Oh, you've got a nice room!” So we had high hopes. The unit presented well at first but there were no mesh screens on the doors or windows so we couldn't open them to get any fresh air, the shower door in the ensuite didn't close properly and the floor gets soaked, even with the exhaust on in the main bathroom it filled up with so much condensation after a morning shower that the walls and floor were wet all day resulting in both me and my youngest child slipping over. Luckily neither of us were hurt. We were only given 4 towels even though I put 6 people on our booking details and we were in a room that sleeps 6. There was a cigarette lighter left on the bed head, smashed coffee mug under the vanity in one of the bathrooms, food packets/rubbish under the couches, hole in the wall, window missing a piece of trim. There was something on the couch so I used a baby wipe to wipe it off and the entire wipe was black so I don't think the couches ever get wiped over. We were there for 4 nights 5 days and housekeeping came to our unit once. As all 6 of us were all inside at the time I said ”there's just some rubbish and one bed that needs clean sheets please” The ladies did those things then asked if we'd like them to vacuum, I said yes please and they left, I assumed to get the vacuum, but they didn't come back. On our 1st morning we were walking down to the parking and noticed 3 used syringes in the garden outside our unit, we told reception and the man said ”someone probably dropped them” We made it clear to him that they were used and had exposed tips. When we arrived back that afternoon, they were still in the garden and in fact still there days later when we checked out.

Guest UserRoom is clean, spacious and modern. Breakfast is simple and limited choices, but enough to wake up your stomach. Walking distance from the nearest light rail station and local amenities. Recommended

This is my second stay. The last time was before the pandemic. I feel that the hotel has not changed much overall, but there are some minor adjustments. There is a pungent smell of spray paint in the corridor near the room. After I told the front desk, I immediately changed the room and gave a bottle of red wine. The only thing I think is that the hotel parking is expensive.
