The whole estate felt like the proprietress was hosting everyone herself. She was constantly in the lobby and dining area, greeting guests during check-in and at breakfast the next day. There are also several adorable dogs here that immediately come over for pets!
The amenities and breakfast at the hotel are excellent. The lobby offers a variety of snacks, all from Sam's Club, which you can just grab and eat. There's also a massage chair, a fireplace, and more. The large floor-to-ceiling windows in the rooms offer direct views of the autumn leaves. In the evening, the large pool in the garden is filled with hot spring water, and soaking in it during cold weather is incredibly comfortable. It's a genuine hot spring, and Guzhou itself is famous for its hot springs. Some room types even have private hot tubs. It's truly relaxing and helps soothe away the fatigue of a long journey.

For our two-day trip to Lixian, we chose to stay at Xiangjiagazong Luxury Scenic Resort, drawn by its stunning scenery and numerous positive reviews. To start with, my conclusion is: while the hardware (facilities) is indeed excellent, the soft services don't quite match the price.
The hotel is located halfway up the mountain; you need to take a detour from the main road to reach it, so driving is more convenient. It provides two small parking areas and EV charging stations. Both the views and room facilities are exactly as advertised: clean, tidy, high-quality, and clearly designed with great thought and expense. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer direct views of the lush mountains, and the morning mist creates a truly breathtaking scene. Breakfast was generous, served à la carte (not buffet-style) directly by staff, which was a pleasant experience.
However, the service left much to be desired. On arrival day, I contacted the front desk for luggage assistance, but after a long wait, no one showed up, so I had to carry my bags uphill myself. During check-in, there was no dedicated staff member; an auntie who also handles cleaning duties processed our check-in. The so-called ”butler” service wasn't via WeChat but a regular phone call, and their explanation of nearby walkable attractions was unclear, which was a bit awkward. On the first night, I felt a bit unwell and contacted the butler for cold medicine or altitude sickness medication. Unfortunately, these were not readily available, and we had to purchase an oxygen tank at our own expense. The ”Xiaodu” voice assistant in the room seemed smart but didn't genuinely integrate with the room facilities. The scenic cafe on the 4th floor had beautiful views, but on both occasions we went up, there were no staff, just an empty room.
We didn't encounter the ”warm and hospitable owner” mentioned in many reviews; the owner never appeared throughout our stay, and there was a noticeable lack of a welcoming atmosphere. Overall, the hotel's hardware and scenery are indeed impeccable, making it a great place for photos and relaxation. However, the service experience and attention to detail fell short. The price, several times higher than neighboring hotels, didn't reflect a corresponding value in service. If you're coming purely for the scenery, it's worth a try, but if you're seeking a high-quality, comprehensive experience, you might be slightly disappointed.

Guest UserThe environment is excellent, with an authentic ******* vibe. The infinity hot spring offers a first-class experience, and the water quality is wonderfully comfortable. The room is clean with no strange odors, and the facilities are complete. There's also a laundry room, and the underground parking is very convenient, complete with charging stations. The butler service is warm and attentive, and the food and accommodation quality are top-notch. It’s an absolutely fantastic place for a summer getaway and relaxation, highly recommended! The food is also great, especially the cold dishes—a must-try!

The Lixian Yunman Hongshan Hot Spring Hotel truly exceeded my expectations! The environment is tranquil and serene, and opening the window reveals an endless mountain view, offering expansive and healing vistas ✨. The room was clean and spacious with complete amenities, and the smart home system was incredibly convenient. The bedding was soft and comfortable, making for a very relaxing stay. The private hot spring water was clear and pure, and soaking in it left me feeling completely relaxed, perfect for unwinding after a long journey. The staff were warm and attentive. The freshly made beef noodles for breakfast were delicious and flavorful, and the yak hotpot for dinner was authentic and superb. The value for money is absolutely fantastic – this is a must-stay when visiting Lixian!

HaoxinqingchibaofanThe room was quite spacious with large windows, so it felt bright and airy, not stuffy at all. This is probably the nicest hotel in Lixian. The front desk staff were very welcoming, and there's a complimentary afternoon tea upon check-in. The room features smart controls via 'Xiao Du' (a smart assistant). With the zero-pressure mattress and the quiet town environment—no insects chirping or cars honking—it was incredibly peaceful, ensuring a very restful sleep. In June, the temperature was a comfortable 16-18 degrees Celsius, so no need for air conditioning. The cleanliness was excellent, and the breakfast spread was very generous. The hotel is located in the heart of the town, with a large ground-level parking lot. Supermarkets, convenience stores, and various dining options are all around the corner. It's a perfect stopover for a road trip.

The hotel is located in a small town half an hour away from Bipenggou. It had plenty of food options as well as a supermarket within walking distance. Food delivery is available too! The room was large and modern with great view! They provide a soft and hard pillow per person which we appreciate. The floor heating was quite slow to activate but the hotel provides slippers to counter that issue. The power was not working in my room and the staff was very helpful to assist. In the end, she moved us to another room with power. The bath towels provided are disposable so they were very thin and uncomfortable to use though, especially in winter.

Guest UserBipenggou is absolutely stunning, truly living up to its nickname as the 'Little Switzerland of Western Sichuan.' We were lucky enough to even see snow-capped mountains at this time of year 🏔️ and even found a four-leaf clover by the roadside 🍀.
The hotel was also great. They saw we had a child with us and even gave us free breakfast vouchers, which was a lovely gesture. The service and cleanliness were both quite good 👍.
Attached is a Bipenggou travel guide.

Guest UserThis time I went to Bipenggou to play, but I found a lot of shops at the entrance of the scenic spot, but I didn’t find a suitable place to live. It’s fun to see the online guide Mengtun River Valley. After going directly out of the scenic spot, I went straight to Mengtun River. Not far away, I found such a new treasure store on the Internet. The price/performance ratio is really full. It is definitely the most missed accommodation on this trip to Western Sichuan. The room is full of expensive furniture, very distinctive and texture. The peak season is definitely not only this price, the health and service are really great, and the breakfast is also very rich. Really lucky, I happened to come here to live, and I wish the enthusiastic boss a prosperous business!

FeiyedegeSecond time staying here. This time we booked a loft, which our kids absolutely loved. The 4th floor was pretty quiet, except for a bit of noise from the restaurant kitchen's exhaust fan in the morning. Since it's the off-season, the hot spring pools weren't crowded, allowing us to enjoy them freely.

ManguoqihaidefengThe facilities are quite complete. The wooden cabins are surrounded by a riot of wildflowers and lush greenery in summer, so the natural setting is absolutely stunning. However, very few of the outdoor hot spring pools were open, and aside from the rooftop infinity pool, only a handful of indoor pools were available. So, the hot spring experience in summer was just so-so.
We stayed in a 'Flower Field Cabin,' which felt a bit damp, and a quick glance at the bathroom showed some mold... If you're a clean freak, it's best not to look too closely. But considering we're in the mountains, you can't really complain about these conditions.
The breakfast was quite rich, and we also had dinner at the hotel, which was pretty good.
