Amazing
GGuest UserThis small, beautiful hotel is tastefully decorated with Japanese art and objects. We chose Western-style beds. The room was spacious and airy. Sandals are provided for walking in the hallways; no shoes or sandals on the room’s traditional mats.
Breakfast and dinner are high cuisine, artfully presented in private dining rooms. The set dinner menu is 7 courses and way too much food, even with small individual portions of each serving (similar to a tasting menu, but highly traditional Japanese). The sashimi was the freshest I have ever eaten. The chef accommodated our dietary restriction of no meat. Shuttle vans can be arranged for pick up and drop off at train stations and local shrines. The staff’s English is limited so find a good translation app.
GGuest UserThe hotel environment is very good. The hygiene is clean. The room is tidy. The service is also warm and considerate. There will be a drum welcome ceremony. There is also a free water bar in the lobby. You can drink tea and enjoy the scenery. The dinner restaurant needs to pass through the suspension bridge. The dinner is also unique. The hot spring water quality is also good. There are soup flowers. It is very comfortable to soak in.
GGuest UserMy first time visit to Japan and I was after an authentic Japanese accommodation. I booked a Japanese Style room with futon beds which were very comfortable. The room was beautiful and very clean. My booking also included breakfast and dinner which were always outstanding, beautifully prepared and unique food items. They utilized farm to table dining and the women explained each item served. They provided and encouraged one to wear Kimonos’s /tabi socks / slippers during one’s stay at, “ Nikko Iwaiyado Juyan “. Which further contributed to the authentic Japanese vibe. Indoor and outdoor hot tubs were amazing. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. The hotel is nestled within mountains and the setting serene. Hotel is family owned and they take pride in caring for their guests.
GGuest UserThe room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the view was great. The free cocktail and coffee services in the lobby were nice, as well as the free drink bar (including one beer per person) near the entrance to the hot spring. The paid massage service was also good. The meals were decent, especially the grilled beef, which simply melted in my mouth. The restaurant staff welcomed us warmly and provided friendly service.
Cons: The variety of hot springs was lacking, and the view from the hot springs was almost blocked, which was disappointing. The lockers for valuables used combination dials, and foreign guests often didn’t know how to use them, locking their room keys inside and struggling to reopen them. This was a major inconvenience. They should switch to a key-and-wristband system like other onsen hotels.
The room itself felt like an old, once-grand mansion that had seen better days. The furniture had many scratches, and the surfaces were worn and peeling. It made me think it must have been impressive in the past. Still, the room was definitely more spacious compared to other hotels.
TTsusiethank youso much🥰🥰so very nice place, the staff are so very supportive, very near in tobu world square & tobu world square station,The hotspring is so good especially the strong mist sauna & the overall complete amenities.esp.horse oil shampoo & conditioner,& so nice yokatta.I like also the space in veranda,co'z i can smoke anytime & the freshness invironment.the comfortable bed.The very good breakfast.Overall, supportive staff 100 percent.Thank you so much always trip.com
JJie0907Overall is good in terms of food/facilities/services. Yumoto onsen bus stop is only 3mins walk away from hotel.
The tatami room I stayed is spacious..just that it got smell which I believe it is due to lack of ventilation. Feel ok after i spray some air freshener.
AAnonymous UserThis was my first time staying at a Hoshino Hotel in the Kai series, and I was very satisfied. The ”Kai” hotel in Nikko, especially the cable car, is definitely worth the experience. The hotel is very close to the station, seemingly nestled in the mountains, but it's actually just a short walk from the hot spring town. It's bustling yet secluded.
The decor is a distinctly Japanese style, combining minimalism with a wabi-sabi vibe. I personally love it. Those who enjoy this series will appreciate it, but those who prefer extravagant and elaborate décor wouldn't recommend it; they'll be disappointed.
The hotel also offers free coffee and tea, as well as unlimited juice and ice cream, so children will have more fun than adults. The hot springs are incredibly beautiful. During cherry blossom season, the hot springs are right outside, and during autumn foliage season, the mountain courtyard is filled with vibrant colors.
Overall, the hotel isn't large, resembling a small resort, but it's packed with details, views, and activities. There are free evening performances, the kaiseki dinner is exquisite, and the Japanese breakfast is also very delicious. A hotel worth experiencing: upscale yet not intimidating, the service is very pleasant.
In addition, there are a lot of fun theme parks and attractions nearby in just five minutes’ drive. This is also the reason for the recommendation.
GGuest UserThe room was nice and clean. All amenities were well-prepared. Had a little bit trouble with the check-in process but were solved by staff. If have time, i suggest everyone do the check-in process via the link in your email before arrival.
LLvxingzhe3haoThe service was impeccable, with the young waiters always smiling. During my seven-day trip to Japan, this was the only place where I experienced the kind of Japanese service I've been seeing online. The room was spacious, and the food and hot springs were excellent. It was a pleasant surprise to find such a hot spring inn in a secluded area like Kawaji Yumoto. The only downside was that the furniture was a bit dated. The filter on the kettle's outlet was rusty and yellowed. I hope it's replaced soon, as it's not a very expensive item.
MMiracle888The hotel service is very good. Excellent service There are tea and coffee drinks to drink until 22:30 and late-night meals, namely ramen, until 22:30 as well. Next time, I will definitely come back to use the service.
