Our first stop on our caravan trip from Sydney to Cairns to complete our Big Lap of Australia. Great caravan park right on the beach. Great amenities and very clean. A short walk through the park to the beach and breakwater. Views of Newcastle over the river. You can watch coal ships coming and going from here too. It is a short drive around to Newcastle. The staff were very helpful. Tidy clean and reasonable rates.

First stop on our Sydney to Cairns campervan trip. Great spot on the beach. Can watch the coal ships enter and leave the port from here too. Near to town but a short drive around to Newcastle. Good amenities, gated park with reasonable rates and small shop. Stayed 2 nights as we had a friend to catch up with that we met in New Zealand. Staff at park very helpful.

Have stayed here a couple of times now; right on the beach, good camp kitchen and clean bathrooms with plenty of toilets and showers. Water in the shower is nice and hot! The amenties blocks are perfectly situated. The park is nice and close to Newcastle CBD which is perfect for us. Lexies cafe is a bonus. Only downside is people going through rubbish bins and individual site bins within the park at 2:30am each night looking for empty drink cans for their collection. The back end of the park is easily accessible by members of the public which leads to randoms occasionally visiting.

Stayed here last night in our motor home. The site was grass but level and we could see and hear the beach from our spot. Very quiet at night. Used the amenities for a shower this morning and it was excellent! Rain showers and wall showers, cubicle with bench and hooks on walls for all your stuff, then a very big shower cubicle. Lovely hot water. The bathrooms are large, modern and very clean. The camp kitchen is huge, again very clean. Laundry facilities with rows of clotheslines outside. From booking to checking in, the communication was spot on, with a confirmation email, an email a few days before and a text the day before we arrived. Check in was hassle free and the lady in reception was friendly, informative and very helpful. Wifi is spotty but didn’t bother us. All in all, an excellent park with lovely facilities. Would highly recommend.

Our stay wasn't long enough! We so prefer caravan parks over hotels/motels. So much more room to run around and explore, and that close to the beach - how can one argue with that?! Our 'Villa' was so roomy and comfy. Very happy with the amenities. For a 6 berth, the cooking amenities could be more BUT there is a BBQ 2 cabins away and the view and sounds of the crashing waves makes for a gorgeous night on the balcony. I run very cold, so I had to use the 2 spare single doonas and the blanket in the cupboard on the bed, while husband runs hot so had the ceiling fan - best of both worlds for us. I bring my own container of comforts from home, my own mug, sugar, tea, snacks for the 2 yo but there's enough tea and coffee for a couple nights. The location of the park is very secluded- over the bridge and away from the hub of Newy but, if accommodated for right, it's perfect. We cooked our first night and went into Newy for our second night. Most things in Newy are no more than 25 mins away.

Great location, nice wide sites, we had an ensuite which was excellent and more than fairly priced. Friendly, happy staff, dog friendly with an off leash park and beach at the southern end, terrific Cafe at the other end of the park and walking distance to main St, 3 pubs an rsl and bowlo, really good spot, we will be back

Great caravan park to visit for the weekend or longer. Welcomed by friendly staff. Park well maintained and very clean amenities. We spent the weekend as this was our first trip away in new van. Highly recommend. Close to bowling club and Lexie’s cafe. Great beach and good walk along the break wall.

This is a wonderful park,by far the best camp kitchen. It's amazing how many people gather while cooking a meal in this great space. There is ample seating and also indoor games to occupy the children while the meal is being prepared. The staff are friendly and helpful and the amenities very clean. This park is in walking distance to the local shops, about 15-20 minutes and about 10 minutes walk to the Newcastle ferry.

The location is good if you are after accommodation right on the beach. It is about 30 mins into Newcastle city, not a lot of dinner options in Stockton itself. Cabins are standard but did have a nice view of the ocean from it. Not sure if crime is/has been an issue in the past there but cameras and bright yellow lights are everywhere throughout the cabin section which make it very hard to sleep when they are right outside the bedroom windows. Lastly, the staff…..we have never been made feel more unwelcome than we did here. The staff were rude which soured our trip to Newcastle. It feels more like a council run park than an NRMA.
