Arrived early morning on ***** New Year's Day. Front desk staff Mr. Li was very helpful and courteous. He told me to proceed to 15th floor gym lounge to relax from my cross Pacific long haul flight and to help myself with the free coffee there. It was a much needed break from a long journey started from NYC. I found the hotel room is very attractive and nicely decorated and designed. My rate didn't include the breakfast so no comment on that. The hotel is a short walk from Taipei's MRT Brown line station. Due to the New Year Day celebration, nearly all shops in the area were closed for the holidays. But one still can easily get most necessities from the nearby 7-11 store. Overall, it's a nice short stay at FX Hotel.

The hotel room was nice with all the necessities but I would recommend the hotel to invest in an air purifier for the room with no windows.. the air quality inside the room was not good at all and it release a musty smell. Location is good right in front of mrt station. If you go shopping malls and outlrt are just few steps away. There is a night club in the 6f of the bldg so we you are a party goer its very near and get drunk right next to your hotel. Lot of restaurants nearby of the bldg, and there a small night market nearby too. It was a good stay.

I stayed at this hotel for 8 nights as required by the ”3+4” quarantine rules. Overall it was a pleasant stay. The room is clean, comfortable and spacious but t the service is inconsistent. The first 3-4 days were great but it declined quickly after that. I paid in full for the room and meals two weeks before I arrived in Taiwan. However, they messed up my check out date and I had to call in the last 2 days for the quarantine meals to be delivered to my room. They also do not offer instant coffee or coffee machine in the room. Taipei has many good boutique hotels but they opted not to be quarantine hotels, so I only had limited quarantine hotel choices during my quarantine period. Otherwise, I would not have chosen this hotel.

Booked 3-person room but wasn’t happy with the condition. Requested to check out immediately since no bed was allowed to be added, and were told that all the 4-person room was sold out. Taipei was our last stop so we wanted a good ending and we needed a room for three nights stay. Spoke to the FO manager who reluctantly but finally offered an one bedroom suite. The room was spacious and bright. We were happy and appreciative initially but their beds and couches were believed to be full of dust mite. We were suffering from severe insect bites, esp our 4 years old son (whom photos can be provided later). Quite a disappointment despite the hotel was newly refurbished and centrally located. The hot spring is only open for 16 years old and above so the hotel isn’t family oriented.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Amba Taipei Songshan hotel. We had a good time. Upon our arrival we entered with a lot of luggage because from Taipei we would be flying on to the Philippines for a long stay. Thankfully the very nice security guard on the ground floor offered to contact the upstairs front desk and moments later we were helped with our luggage by the very kind Michael Mao. He went beyond the call of duty in giving us personal help with our luggage and allowing us to check in earlier than usual. My wife was surprised by how large the room was and so was I. Very comfortable setup. We didn’t have a view of Taipei 101 but the other side of the building is nice as well. The only problem was that all three days of our stay, the weather was very gloomy with occasional rain. Thanks to Michael for helping with food suggestions, shopping info for my wife and great instructions on how to access the Hop On Hop Off, etc. Unfortunately, we ended up not using the Hop On/Off bus because the schedule is really not great for tourist. Availability of the bus isn’t good. Michael explained that this was mostly due to those Covid years. Perhaps in the future the Hop On/Off will be back to normal as I think most tourist around the world are used to taking advantage of it just to get a quick view of the entire city. I will say that the best form of travel around the city is definitely the subway, which is probably the easiest to use in the world. Its super clean and convenient. Also, as great as the Amba Taipei Songshan hotel is, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention something that others have made mention of and that is the breakfast. Unfortunately, its not a great selection and not very flavorful. I’m one of those people who never adds salt to my food once its cooked. With this breakfast, I was shaking the salt shaker constantly. Also, I think employees/chefs should be encouraged and allowed to be a little more improvisational, if you will. I witnessed several times where someone asked if their eggs could be cooked “sunny side up” but the chef only pointed to the sign with two choices, scrambled or omelette. Sunny side up is not hard to do and probably takes less time to make than an omelette. Also, there’s a sign that says pancakes but in front of this sign is a plate filled with waffles. I assumed that you had to ask for pancakes so when I did, the chef pointed at the waffles. That sign should be changed to waffles only or offer both, which in my opinion would be the better option. Pancakes and Waffles. The area where breakfast is served is very nice and spacious. They should really try harder to make the breakfast just as exceptional. Beyond that, I still very much recommend this hotel as a number one option. Its a great location, the city link is right across the street and the Raohe night market is not far away at all. Really nice relaxed vibe and a very safe area to walk around and explore. 😁. Thank you for a nice stay…

This time I checked in at night When checking in The lady at the counter was very enthusiastic and helped us upgrade to a triple room. When I get up the next morning and want to renew my room The morning front desk ladyactually wanted to use the upgraded room rate to renew the room Otherwise, please switch back to a double bed room type. I have always emphasized that we are promoted It’s not that I took the initiative to ask for an upgrade. And the night before, I heard that there were no customers at night. So it’s not a problem caused by overbooking. I want to extend my apartment but don’t want to move my luggage around. He actually lost his regular customers without understanding the whole story. I will stay at THE BLUE tonight, hope I will be satisfied
