Yardley Manor Hotel

This place is amazing the bar is good and the live music is great.Can’t wait to come back here again soon.The staff are so kind and caring made me feel so welcome,the beds were really comfy and soft,the bathroom was so posh looking and I can’t wait to come back again soon

Myself and my partner have just had a very enjoyable break at yardley manor hotel , we were met by Steve who was very friendly showing us how to use the key card and showing myself where the parking space was for the car, not only did he invite us to join him In a drink at the griffyn bar ( if we wished ) but he also stated that if we had any problems or required information on where to go or where to eat etc then he would be more than happy to advise us , we received the same frendly welcome from Jez the barman in the Griffyn, having sorted ourselves out in our room which was clean and well presented with everything you could need for your stay , the following morning's Breakfast was extremely good and nothing was too much trouble for Jackie and Lesley who cooked and served it, having spent the day in Torquay seafront we returned to the hotel to enjoy the live music put on late afternoon/ early evening in the griffyn bar , overall a realy nice short break with realy friendly and down to earth staff , we could not have picked a better place to stay which felt like a home from home and will be re-booking when we need another break.

We had a fabulous stay at this lovely hotel with our dogs. From start to finish we were made to feel so welcome. We booked last minute on a Sunday night - the bar and the brilliant live music (Boosters Music) was a massive bonus. Breakfast was amazing with lots of choice. So glad we discovered this place and really look forward to staying again. All of the staff went above and beyond. Thank you 😊

The customer service that we experienced here was beyond poor. The manager/owner of the hotel made us feel incredibly uncomfortable with his behaviour and comments. Judgmental and explained that we were “going to be trouble” because we were going to a specific event to listen to a specific type of music. He then went on to explain that he either needed a £100 deposit from us or all of my bank card details (including the 3 digit CVC code). I did explain that there was no mention of this at the time of booking and I was told to simply “check it you’ll find it on there”. Later on I did check it, and it stated that the deposit amount was £50 not the £100 that this owner had demanded from us. I later challenged this and the reason for the doubled security deposit was because we were younger and going to see a DJ. I was not comfortable providing this so we comprised and my partner gave him his car keys as means of a deposit. We arrived back to the hotel (not drunk heathens like this owner was clearly expecting) at 1.45, were quiet and respectful to the other guests as we always have been. In the morning I felt so uncomfortable that when we were given the keys back to our car, I felt that it was important I explained how my partner and I had felt during our entire stay. This conversation was met with such a dismissive and combative manner from the owner. He then also let slip that he knew exactly what time we had arrived back at the property which would insinuate that he had checked his CCTV cameras. Of course he is entitled to do so but I would not recommend telling this to guests the following day as it was just really creepy if I am being perfectly honest. We were judged from the first few minutes of being inside of this hotel, for going out and having a nice time. I do understand that not every guest that stays in a hotel is respectful but it is entirely out of line to directly imply that we were going to be “trouble” I also do not think that we would appear to be those sort of guests, dressed smartly, polite and pulling up in a high end car, but there you go, clearly all young people who like to go and listen to music are a nuisance. Confusingly, after a difficult conversation with the owner the following morning and upon our departure I quickly received a notification that my booking had been cancelled. It hadn’t, unfortunately we had stayed there and I had pre paid the full amount. I would absolutely never recommend this property to anyone and I do not expect to be spoken to or treated in that manner as a paying guest.

This is a very nice hotel. The room was clean and had everything needed. Breakfasts were lovely and the Griffin bar was a nice place to wind down after a day of sightseeing. There was parking available as well. Even though there were other guests there was no room noise from the other rooms. Highly recommend this hotel and we will stay again if we return to Torquay.

We spent 3 nights at The Yardley Manor and it was a very enjoyable experience. The room was clean and had everything needed in it. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept well each night. Although there were other guests in the hotel there was no noise from other rooms. The staff were very helpful and guided us to an appropriate parking spot on site. They explained the key card system and how breakfast worked. Breakfast was wonderful with continental and cooked options available. The Griffin bar was a great place to wind down the evening after spending the day sightseeing. If we ever return to Torquay we will definitely stay again.

Had a lovely 4 day stay. The room had everything we needed and was clean. The breakfast was nice. The staff all friendly. Relaxing atmosphere as no one bothers you. Nice bar below to finish off the evening. Very near the harbour where all the buses stop so easy to go anywhere without using the car. Also nice restaurants nearby. It is a bit tired and run down in some of the public areas but if you want 5 star you would need to pay a lot more. Wish we’d booked a sea view room, we will do that next time.

Fantastic short stay. Room was clean and welcoming and well stocked. Decoration was more boutique hotel than I’d expected for Torquay which was lovely. Breakfast was generous and affordable. Would recommend to friends - call and book direct!
