Excellent stay all around. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The location is unbeatable, right in the centre rod town. The Mountain View room was stunning. The spa was wonderful and the room very comfortable. Would recommend to anyone! We did not want to leave!

It’s a shame that they don’t know their clients…. Our friends have a room but the staff thinks we are strangers… We were invited by hotel guests so it’s not okay to treat us this way. We were just having drinks and our daughter was swimming in the pool with her friend who stays in the hotel.

We have just returned from a one week ski holiday stay at this hotel. Location: The hotel is well located and central to good shops and restaurants. Not ski-in / ski-out but the hotel transport will drop you off / pick you at either ski lifts. Simply call them and they are generally there within 5 mins (and always with a smile). The main 2 lifts we used were La Daille and Olympique. Quality of Food: very good! Breakfast has a great selection with quick service. You do have to pay though for supplementary things such as omelettes etc. Dinner: we ate in both restaurants of the hotel: La Luge (traditional Savoie / mountain dishes) and Le Blizzard (a bit more high end). We prefer local food when we travel so La Luge won the vote and we went twice… great raclette :). The only negative point with La Luge is the restaurant is small/low ceilings so it gets very very hot with all those raclettes / fondues. Go in a tee shirt even in winter! Staff: super helpful and always smiling. They helped resolve any issue we had. When wifi reception was poor, they simply installed our own wifi hotspot! 🙌 SPA: Amazing: Sauna / Jacuzzi (internal/external) / outdoor swimming pool / Steam room / gym… we loved all of it and used daily! I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel! The only downside is the 3 hour transit from Geneva airport. Other than that, amazing amazing amazing stay!

Spa is a must, we had the best afternoon relaxing and enjoying treatments. Lovely outdoor pool which is bearable even when it’s cold. Relaxed and charming with a great atmosphere right in the centre of the village.

Ok, so we've been going to Le Blizzard for longer than I can remember. The reasons we keep going back - Very welcoming and helpful door staff and receptionists. Robin is awesome and always happy to stop for a chat and sort any issues. Gabriel and the guys at the door very happy to shuttle you around the village at anytime night or day. David and his team in bar, there is nowhere else like Le Blizzard bar after a day on the slopes before dinner, it's vibey, cosy and always busy - sometime residents struggle to get a seat ! Thank you to Marie who mainly looked after us this year. The rooms aren't the biggest, and there is a distinct lack of rooms that have separate showers, there's quite a few with showers over the baths - I think they were talking about changing some over last summer but don't think it happened. I get the negative comments about the service in restaurant, and the restaurant is very French ! what else would you expect ! ... I wish they still ran the half board menu in the restaurant which was far better for fussy English kids, who sometimes just want a relatively plain burger, pasta or lasagne rather than poulet cooked three ways or milk fed veal ribs ! Breakfast was good, and thank you to Lena the manager who was very happy to pop down to the local supermarket to make sure one of our fussy eaters didn't go hungry at breakfast, awesome work ! The spa's great but I do agree with a few of the comments, there should definitely be an age limit (15 ?) ... can get quite rowdy with kids in the indoor hot tub, maybe they should be allowed only in the outdoor pool. And something has to be done about the slippy floor ! ... it is absolutely lethal, and I've seen quite a few people fall over the years. We had a few massages this year which were all very good (but pricey !) ... there's definitely a few little bits that need tidying up, this is a 5* hotel after all. But overall, I love Le Blizzard, it's my "happy place" and I wouldn't stay anywhere else, see you next season !

We recently stayed at Le Blizzard for one week with our family and a group of friends (total of 11 people). I want to give a quick shout-out to Robin who is the hotel manager. He was super helpful and was able to accommodate every request. Robin and all the staff at the hotel take care of all your needs and create a very special atmosphere. The location of the hotel is great. It is situated right in the center of Val d’Isere with access to all the shops and restaurants. The hotel provides a shuttle to the slopes. You can walk 5 minutes or ride the shuttle for 3 minutes. They also will pick you up at the end of the day from anywhere you might end up. The spa is really nice. Make sure to book a massage right when you arrive because it’s very popular. The restaurant serves delicious food for breakfast and dinner. The breakfast has a very nice selection of fresh juices, fruit, pastries and all the other breakfast items that you might want to indulge in. The decor of the hotel makes it feel like a cozy lodge. Our kids loved our room (201) because it had a bunk bed in the wall. They loved playing there. We will definitely stay at Le Blizzard again!

My family spent 5 nights at this hotel. The young lady at check in was lovely and the concierge Luca was super helpful, but disappointingly, these are the only 2 positive interactions we had. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was a very disappointing experience due to the average food and cold service, despite the fine- dining prices. We had terrible service from the waiter, sommelier and assistant manager, who were cold and dismissive and perhaps didn’t care much for a young family dining in their fine establishment. The restaurant was not busy as it was an early sitting. In contrast, we went to Lou Lou restaurant at Hotel Airelles a few nights later and had the best food and service from warm and helpful staff. This hotel should check it out and take notes on how to run a restaurant. The hotel itself is old and looks charming, but its maintenance needs work and they need to lift their game in housekeeping. - The lift broke down one day and we could hear children trapped in it. We had to walk up 4 flights of stairs in our ski gear that afternoon. - The boiler broke one morning and there was no hot water, which my young son discovered too late. There was no heads up from the hotel. - The room smelt musty thanks to the old carpet and cupboards. - There was an empty bottle of Clarins conditioner in our shower when we checked in, which indicated that housekeeping had not done a thorough job in cleaning/preparing the room prior to check in. The list goes on and suffice to say- we were very disappointed with our stay. We traveled a long way to get to Val D’Sere and had high hopes of a pleasant time. I do not recommend this hotel at all, especially since there are many other great options around

Very welcoming staff in a super relaxed environment that certainly made it feel like a home from home. We had two connected bedrooms, one for teenage children and one for us, with a shared bathroom. The hotel was bijou, cosy and intimate. Lots of wood paneling, low ceilings and low lit bar and lounge area all made it feel like staying as a guest in a friends' chalet. The atmosphere reminded me of staying in some of the best Soho House residences. Our dog Juno was made to feel welcome and was no trouble at all for the hotel. Spa was as good as you would expect, heated outdoor pool was great and although we only ate dinner in the hotel once, the food was excellent. Breakfast was outside by the pool as this was summer and the hotel offered yoga and pilates classes at 9am.

Amazing hotel, amazing food, very friendly. Would definitely recommend. The decor is lovely and the bar is fantastic. They went out of their way to provide excellent service! The only thing that let the hotel down was the outside restaurant manager who was twice very rude and unaccommodating when we asked for a table in the sun… he needs some training in how to treat his guests!! For some reason he refused to let us sit at the sunny table, which remained empty the duration of our meal and after. He very much let down the reputation of the hotel. Thankfully his colleagues appeared embarrassed by his behaviour and did their best to accommodate our request by moving the table, so many thanks to them. Overall a fantastic stay and I would definitely return, a truly lovely hotel in every way. Thank-you for a wonderful week!
