It was generally very clean. The shared bathroom was also clean and comfortable. I gave the facilities a 4 because I thought it had to be shared.
Maybe because there weren't many people there, it was very quiet and I was able to sleep well at night.
The receptionist seemed a little cold, but she answered my questions properly, so maybe I was expecting too much Japanese service.

Living on the third floor, the bedding was dirty. There are only 20 old rooms on the entire floor and only one shared bathroom. I wonder how the hotel owner considered the problem?

It was a very pleasant stay. The prices are affordable for a downtown Vancouver hotel. The staff are also very accommodating. I booked a shared bathroom room and it wasn't a problem as the bathrooms are always cleaned and there is enough to avoing having to wait for others using them. Will definitely book here again on my next Vancouver trip!

The Kingston is excellent for the price. It's clean and the several different desk clerks I interacted with were friendly, polite and helpful.
Keep in mind that it's an old building, and the rooms are small. This is reflected in the price.
The WiFi works well. Ample towels were supplied, along with a couple of bathrobes and slippers.
There is a disadvantage to the area, in that it's hard to find a place to get an early breakfast. I was there for business and I would have liked to have been able to find a full breakfast somewhere close by at, say, 7 AM. That's not a fault of the hotel, just a disadvantage of the area.

Its like a hotel out of the 1930s or 40s, which can be charming for some. There's no TVs in the room and you can't control the temperature well. They also lock you out after 10pm which really threw me off. If you have no other options, it's an okay place to stay, but at least give folks a TV if they have to share a bathroom with strangers

Well maintained, very comfortable older hotel. Simon at the front desk and the manager were both very helpful. Parking was provided at no extra cost.

No hot water for five straight days, and they have notified so late that we weren't get any other room
