Wanda Reign Wuhan Reviews

I chose to stay at the Wanda Reign Wuhan during my visit to Wuhan. The hotel is located in the core business district of Wuchang and offers a unique butler service. My butler, Jessica, called me a day in advance to arrange a room on a higher floor. The bedding was soft and comfortable. It's also within walking distance to SKP. The hotel's facilities are excellent. Definitely a recommended hotel.

Absolutely loved the hotel lobby – it's so spacious and grand. The view from my room window was breathtaking, with a misty, expansive landscape that was incredibly refreshing. Breakfast and the welcome fruit were also fantastic. It's super convenient for dining and shopping too. For two consecutive evenings, I strolled across the road from K Avenue walking street to SKP for dinner, then leisurely walked back to the hotel to enjoy a cup of tea. So relaxing! 😌

Pros: Housekeeper Xizi was very attentive, and the staff on the 27th floor were very enthusiastic and thoughtful. Cons: 1. I booked two Executive Grand View King Rooms and informed the housekeeper beforehand to try and arrange them together. The housekeeper was very efficient and arranged it quickly, but they weren't on the Executive Floor. The two adjacent rooms were positioned one directly opposite the hallway and the other directly opposite the stairs, leading to frequent and loud slamming door noises from outside. (Where does 'Executive' come into play? Is it just the lounge access? Selling the room should be the priority, right?) See Picture 1. 2. Regarding the welcome fruit, see Picture 2. This is the most meager welcome I've ever seen. Are fruits that expensive this season? 3. Do products of this quality live up to the word 'luxury'? See Pictures 3, 4, and 5. 4. If the mini-bar isn't displayed openly, isn't this a bit of a trick? (Even though I didn't drink anything). See Pictures 6, 7, and 8. 5. From the moment I entered the hotel lobby, I barely saw any greetings or smiles. How come I didn't experience the warmth mentioned in so many reviews? 6. There were frequent thumping noises outside the window. I initially thought it was the wind, but there wasn't any wind at all. I don't know what caused it. Question: With this quality, this service, and this environment, how did it get such high ratings? Is this really the top luxury in Wuhan?

An absolutely amazing stay, far exceeding my expectations! The environment, service, and cleanliness were all impeccable. The room was spotless, the bedding incredibly comfortable, and the attention to detail was outstanding. From the moment I checked in until I left, every aspect of my stay was comfortable. Eve was so thoughtful and even offered me an upgrade for my next visit. For the price, this stay was an incredible value!

As a Trip.com Black Diamond member, I got to enjoy the 'One City, One Room' free stay – glad I caught this benefit! The breakfast was absolutely fantastic.

Jessica arranged everything perfectly. The breakfast was plentiful, and the East Lake view was stunning. The massage chair was very comfortable. The executive lounge staff provided warm and welcoming service. The hotel is conveniently located directly across from Chuhe Han Street.

The lobby is incredibly grand, and the facilities are decent; it has everything you'd expect. The bedding quality is excellent! The bathroom has a ton of little odds and ends, essentially a small item pulled from each pretty little box. It lacks a sense of brand identity and is quite a distance from being a luxury hotel. I used the Black Diamond "One City, One Room" benefit, and upon checking in, I noticed the executive room amenities were L'Occitane. The butler mentioned that only suites currently come with Acqua di Parma, but they still provided it for us. The executive lounge, as pictured, is good for a quick bite, and the fruit selection is quite rich. Free hotel parking is a really nice touch. The butler's response speed wasn't great.

Let's start with the downsides: Upon entering the room, there was a musty smell, and the windows couldn't be opened even a crack. The facilities are quite old; the faucet has sharp edges that could easily cut your hand. The first time using the shower, you're bound to get soaked by the bizarre showerhead switch mechanism, causing water to suddenly pour down on you. Now for the good: The lobby is grand and spacious with high ceilings, very impressive. And the service from front desk staff Xiao Yao was truly excellent – proactive, enthusiastic, and so good that it almost made me overlook the hotel's hardware issues.

Opted for Wanda Reign during the off-season. The hotel's location is fantastic, offering a quiet retreat while still being conveniently accessible. It's close to East Lake and SKP, with a food street just a short walk away, which is super handy. The hotel has a grand overall style, and the service attitude is generally fine. However, the room decor, like the wooden doors, felt a bit dated, and the carpet looked a little dirty. The only area that definitely needs significant improvement is the breakfast; the selection was limited, and the taste was just mediocre.

My last stay here was two or three years ago. Firstly, I heard they were rebranding. Secondly, Wuhan really is a hotel desert, and I've experienced all the five-star options. Thirdly, only Ruihua's rooms are equipped with massage chairs. So, when I returned to Wuhan, I chose Ruihua again. However, based on my overall experience, it's clear the hotel is on a downward spiral. The concierge staff just stood at the entrance, seemingly doing nothing. I never saw them actively open car doors or help with luggage. Every time I returned, they were just chatting by the door. Hotel staff I encountered in the hallways wouldn't even smile or greet me. The lounge check-in staff were extremely unprofessional. My room had a musty smell, but at least an air purifier was provided. Housekeeping wasn't thorough; there were still hairs and dust. Previously, the executive floor amenities included Hermès, Voss water, and Dyson hairdryers. I heard that standard floors have now switched to C'estbon, regular hairdryers, and generic toiletries. However, the executive floor still has Dyson hairdryers and Voss water, though the toiletries have been replaced with L'Occitane. I saw Acqua di Parma advertised on a certain orange app, but when I asked the butler, they said only suites now have Acqua di Parma. The butler did, however, provide a set for me as a complimentary gift. Breakfast was also disappointing with nothing appealing to eat. The Doupi was salty, and the service staff were just standing around chatting. When I asked for a straw, they didn't even help me get it, just told me where it was and made me get it myself. In eight words: 'The service doesn't match the price.' The four-star rating for service is solely for the executive lounge butler, whose name I unfortunately don't remember. They called two days before my trip to make preliminary arrangements, and almost all my requests during the stay were met.

Housekeeper Huang Li at Wanda Reign Wuhan provides exceptionally thoughtful service! She confirmed my itinerary and preferences before I even checked in and was super responsive to any requests. The hotel itself is in a prime location, the room was clean and well-maintained, and transportation was smooth, making getting around a breeze.

Best value for money i ever experienced. This is such a beautiful hotel. Luxury 5* with Palace standards. Room amenities are best i’ve seen in a while with a massage chair in the room, walk in closet, shower + bathtub and smart room controls. Breakfast was good but could be improved with more international options. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Our stay was incredibly pleasant! From the moment we arrived, they quickly checked us in and helped with our luggage. Throughout our stay, any request was promptly addressed. Even before check-out, they thoughtfully reminded us to double-check our belongings. Every step was smooth and natural, with no stiff procedures, just a genuine warmth that made us feel well taken care of. Other hotel staff were also very friendly; the front desk patiently answered our questions and gave us local recommendations, and housekeeping service was very responsive, professional, and sincere. We felt completely at ease and comfortable the entire time.

One of the best value for money hotels there are, anywhere, with excellent features such as a massage chair, unique pool and gym, and overall luxury aesthetic. The location cannot be better, as it was in the heart of Wuhan. Only minor complaints are that the hotel lobby bar is expensive, with a over 50yuan orange juice, and that some of the amenities in the toilet were a little bit old fashioned for my taste, and they might need to be updated some time.
