We stayed here for five nights in the Field and Farrow room and for the first time ever I couldn't find fault with anything. The room has a comfortable King size bed with two bedside tables that offer a large amount storage. There is a large chest with plenty more storage for clothes and a large Sony TV on top that offers all the Freeview channels. There is a comfortable two seater sofa in the bay window with a small coffee table which is ideal for playing card games. A nice size wardrobe in the wall has plenty of hanging space and there is vanity unit with a mirror and radio alarm system that you can connect an iPhone to. The room also has a mini fridge which you can use throughout your stay to store beer, wine, soft drinks and water. Bed sheets are changed every three days and they are very soft and the pillows are also comfortable. Each day the tea and coffee is replenished and when we got back to the room each night we found a different selection of cakes waiting for us, which were delicious. The bathroom is lovely with a walk-in shower, toilet and vanity unit sink that has a large illuminated mirror above it. Towels are changed every two days. The shower is excellent and has an overhead rain shower head and a smaller shower head. The shower screen cleans itself if you give it a quick blast with the hand held shower. Hilary and Paul are the perfect hosts, both are friendly and down to earth and they want you to have a perfect stay, nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is superb, and the range on offer is amazing and whatever you choose it is cooked to perfection. We were offered fruit toast on the first morning and Paul made sure we had it for each breakfast as well as the delicious strawberry jam. You can have full fried breakfast or pick and chose what you want. There is a selection of fruit juices, fruit and yoghurt and cereals as well as fresh croissants. The whole house is tastefully decorated and very clean, the guest lounge is huge and is made up to be like a home from home. The frontage is huge and there is plenty of on-site parking, which is a bonus these days. The B&B is located right near a bus stop where you can catch a bus into York every 15 minutes during the day, which cost £4.50 per person and takes about twenty minutes. We ate at a couple of the pubs that were recommended and we were not disappointed. I could keep writing for hours, but I think it is clear that we were very happy with our stay and will definitely be returning. It is in a ideal position to investigate Yorkshire and all it has to offer or if you are intending on visiting York, do yourself a favour and stay here!
