Ibis Budget Zurich City West

Good value in a great location. We walked from the train station. Enjoyed an excellent breakfast while watching pedestrians and cyclists making their way to work and school. The beds were comfortable, the shower was hot and strong. The young man who checked us in was 5 star. Definitely recommend.
Acasa Suites

The atmosphere in acasa is very relaxed and peaceful. When my friend and I were there for the first time we didn't want to go from there. The rooms are very beautiful and above all very clean what I was very worth drawing. The staff really very nice and open what gave all that I gave to. My friend and I are sure that this will not be the last time and will want to book the next time for a longer time.
Central Plaza

Looking for a hotel in Zurich that's a cut above the rest? Look no further than Central Plaza! Our recent stay there was absolutely exceptional - from the moment we stepped through the doors, we were blown away by the level of service we received. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed, with a special shoutout to Sebastian for his outstanding assistance in retrieving a lost item and sending it back to our home country. The team's attention to detail and dedication to quality service was apparent in every aspect of our stay, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. If you're in the market for a convenient hotel stay in Zurich, Central Plaza is the way to go!
Fred Hotel Zürich Hauptbahnhof

We stayed in both the main hotel and in the guesthouse across the alley and were quite satisfied if both facilities knowing they been renovated within the last year. The main hotel is right around the corner from Zürich HB the rooms feature a nice private bath (new, big & clean) and nice modern styling. The guesthouse as new and stylish as hotels go, but the modular bath/shower unit with its semi-transparent blue glass leaves a lot to be desired when everyone in the room knows what your doing on toilet (very little privacy). We luckily are prepared and carry large binder clips and clipped a bath towel across the glass during our stay. The staff are amazing and extremely cordial. Free coffee/tea is offered 24/7 in the main hotel and on each floor. Guest house residents must go back across the alley to the main lobby. Day tour buses are right across the street for easy access. We would stay again definitely.
Hotel Arlette Beim Hauptbahnhof

I stayed in this charming hotel of the time, which, although a little old, was in excellent conservation state. The hotel is located in the old Zürich hub, just a few steps from the main tourist attractions and a meter from the train station, making my stay very convenient and allowed me to explore the city easily. The hotel was very comfortable and the room was very comfortable and the room was very comfortable and the room was very comfortable. However, one aspect I found a little unpleasant was the rigidity of some rules established by owners, who are older people and, although careful, seemed to stick **** to certain old customs. Although this did not affect my experience to a large extent, I think it would be useful for future guests to take this in mind. In general, I recommend this hotel to those who seek a charming accommodation and a privileged location in the heart of Zurich, provided they are willing to accept some old-fashioned rules
Hotel Seidenhof

This is a hard review to write. 2 nights here. The hotel itself is fine. Tastefully refurbished, with a dose of quirkiness. We had two linked rooms, with a small sitting room and balcony (with a total non-view). Check in was polite and efficient. Breakfast was excellent, with high quality buffet and eggs cooked to order in front of you. Kept running out of fruit juice, however. Replenishment could be better. We were in the mid European heatwave, reaching 37C in the afternoons. When we first entered the rooms, the ”aircon” was on at full and incredibly noisy blast, yet the rooms felt very warm. I assumed they've just turned it on prior to our arrival. After a very hot evening out, I was relishing a cool bedroom to sleep in (having left the ”aircon” on whilst out). Arriving back, I was dismayed to find my room was 28C. I went down to reception, but the night staff were completely uninterested and unsympathetic. He said ”we don't have air conditioning, we have air movement”. I said it was utterly useless, and he said that the Swiss government had banned air conditioning. There was nothing he could do. I returned to my room and sweated the night away with no sleep whatsoever. I felt truly terrible in the morning. The morning staff were far more understanding and offered to put fans in the room, which did help but only slightly. This place is not remotely cheap (even for Zurich, where everything is at least 50% more than you would pay anywhere else), and especially the rooms we had. Tripadvisor shows aircon as an amenity for the hotel, and for this price I would simply take it for granted. To say aircon is ”banned” is patent rubbish, as we went into dozens of shops, bars, restaurants that were crisply cool. I checked the hotel's main competitors and all have full aircon. I did some research, and it seems the government are indeed making it difficult to put aircon into new builds and refurbs. Seidenhof needs to get lobbying, as these weather events are going to become much more frequent and nobody is going to pay its prices to stay in a hotel with no aircon. This ruined our stay in Zurich. If the Swiss government are serious about the environment, they should tax out of existence the nose-to-tail supercars that clutter Zurich's roads instead of targeting the one thing that makes living with climate change tolerable. Whilst they're at it, they should also ban plastic drinking straws (as in the UK), which do such terrible damage to marine wildlife.
