"The bed was ordinary and the sheets didn’t fit the bed very well. There are no power points near the bed to plug your phone in. Batteries need to be changed in the tv remote. Garbage bag was left on the bench and leaked over the bench. It is an average hotel. Breakfast was ok."

"Not bad, quite convenient for family trips. It's really close to all the tour bus pick-up points, so you don't have to get up too early in the morning. The front desk isn't 24/7, so sometimes when you come back late at night, there's no one there. Other than that, everything's good. It's an apartment-style hotel, and the gym on the top floor has fantastic views."

"The facilities are good, and the soundproofing makes for a quiet environment. The breakfast is a real highlight, especially the special dishes; you can order something different every day, and it's delicious. My only minor suggestion is that the wet/dry separation in the bathroom could be improved."

"We chose this hotel primarily because of its close proximity to the car rental company, which is super convenient for travelers picking up a car the next day. The hotel offers a complimentary airport shuttle service, but communication regarding the pick-up needs improvement. As foreign travelers, we couldn't make phone calls and had to rely solely on email correspondence. We spent quite some time looking for the pick-up spot and waited for a long time. When the shuttle finally arrived, it drove right past us without noticing, but thankfully my friend quickly ran after it and hailed it down, allowing us to catch the last shuttle at 7:30 PM. On a side note, the food truck in front of the hotel is highly recommended. Although there's a bit of a wait, the food is freshly prepared and absolutely delicious, leaving a great impression on our stay."

Whether staying for business or leisure, The Victoria Hotel is the obvious choice when looking for contemporary accommodation in Melbourne. Idyllically located next to Melbourne Town Hall and minutes from the iconic Flinders Street Station and Federation Square, this historic hotel in Melbourne is within close walking distance to the city’s must-see attractions. The Victoria Hotel offers contemporary accommodation and is located next to Melbourne Town Hall. It is just 6 minutes' walk from both Flinders Street Station and Federation Square. Rod Laver Arena is 5 minutes’ drive away and Crown Casino is 12 minutes’ drive from the property. You can enjoy a la carte breakfast and lunch at Mister Munro Restaurant. The Victoria Hotel is conveniently situated in the Free Tram Zone and offers easy access to Southbank and the city’s many galleries and museums, as well as the vibrant restaurant, café and bar scene. Shopaholics are in prime position to explore the Collins Street boutiques, Bourke Street Shopping Mall and Chinatown alleys. And for those looking for a night out, the Little Collins Street locale is the perfect base to take on the Melbourne’s lively East End theatre district, Crown Casino and famous sporting arenas.

"Exceptional Location and Great Value in the Heart of Melbourne If you are looking for an affordable yet exceptionally well-located place to stay in the heart of the city, The Victoria Hotel in Melbourne is a fantastic choice. Situated on Little Collins Street, this historic hotel offers unbeatable convenience for both leisure and business travelers. The moment you step outside the lobby, you are instantly surrounded by Melbourne's vibrant laneway culture, iconic cafes, bustling boutique shops, and major public transport links, including the famous Flinders Street Station. The hotel itself perfectly blends heritage charm with modern practicality. While the building is historic, the interior is well-maintained, cozy, and comfortable. My room was compact but spotlessly clean, featuring all the essential amenities needed for a relaxing stay. It included a very comfortable bed, a tidy en-suite bathroom, and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi that worked flawlessly throughout my visit. Though some of the hallway decor feels slightly dated, it genuinely adds to the classic, old-world character of the property rather than detracting from the overall guest experience. One of the standout features of The Victoria Hotel is its excellent guest facilities. After a long day of exploring the city's sights, having access to an indoor heated rooftop pool, a spa, and a fitness center was an unexpected and delightful bonus for a budget-friendly hotel. Furthermore, the on-site restaurant and bar, Mister Munro, provides a lovely, relaxed atmosphere with a great selection of delicious food and beverages. The hotel staff also deserve a very special mention. From a smooth, welcoming check-in process to providing helpful local sightseeing tips, the customer service was consistently polite, efficient, and highly professional. Overall, The Victoria Hotel offers outstanding value for money. It provides a comfortable, safe, and incredibly convenient base for anyone wanting to experience the best of Melbourne without breaking the bank. I highly recommend this wonderful accommodation and would gladly stay here again"

This was my 9th visit to Naarm in the course of over twenty years. Came from Singapore for a Pierce the Veil gig, tattoos, and to skateboard. I was stoked to see that Lyf is now on Elizabeth St. It’s another great area! So close to Queen Vic too! Having read the other reviews before my stay, I can say those reviews did not do the place justice at all. So here’s my take! - Someone mentioned that the room was small. It is not! I have been to many hotels/hostels abroad and this room was huge for its standard/star rating, and price. The bathroom is fairly big too. Whoever thinks this hotel has small rooms, have got to have their eyes checked. - Another review said rooms were not clean. And that the fridge was dirty. I found it good. Sheets and pillows were clean. Towels and bathroom mat was good too. Carpeting was alright. Bathroom sink, mirror and shower did not have marks, or mold. Glasses was clean. Wardrobe too. Fridge was pretty spotless! Could put my dips, cheeses and olives there. Perhaps my only “complaint” was that the AC unit was a bit dusty. And it took me awhile to figure out how to lower it to 18 degrees. - Someone say that there was not enough space to put toiletries in the bathroom. I am not sure if this person has an entire suitcase of toiletries but that was ample space at the sink, and even more space in the shower. You could line ten face wash in there if you wanted to. In addition, the shampoo, shower gel and conditioner smelled good too. And they provided separate ones instead of a 3-in-1. - Someone mentioned that the hotel did not have a kettle or cups in their rooms. And that water (hot or cold) needed to be collected from Level 1. I came prepared and brought a cup and spoon for my instant soups. It was not inconvenient at all, and the lounge area was nice! - One of the reviews mentioned that there were some flies at the sink area of the lounge. I blame this on lazy guests who expected others to clean up after them. Other than the sink, the lounge area was great with ample cutlery, and homeware provided. Size of the area was pretty decent too! - Security. I absolutely love the security of the hotel, that requires a guest to tap their card, even before they enter the building. They also have a card system that works on an app on your phone. Very cool! - Lyf staff were absolutely lovely! - Someone mentioned that they didn’t like how there was no daily housekeeping. As a guest with minimal litter and requiring minimal to no cleaning, I found this absolutely fine. In fact, I was prepared not to have housekeeping at all; I was fine make my own bed, and empty my own trash, if it got too much. So I was surprised to find that my room had been cleaned on the morning of my 6th night there. They even placed my plushie back nicely on the bed. How lovely! To reciprocate, I left the room almost spotless when I checked out. Even folded the loo roll into a triangle. - A review mentioned that the hotel was noisy and that their room didn’t have a good view, as there was construction going on. Having asked for a quiet room, I received one away from the lift. I heard absolutely no construction work going on at all throughout my 7-night stay. The view of my room overlooked the courtyard of the hotel. It was non-claustrophobic and there was ample sunlight, should you wish to draw the curtains. Windows were high and wide. Clearly not small and dark the way others have described. - A couple of reviews mentioned that the rooms were dark and gloomy. Because of them, I was anticipating a very dimmed and dark room, so was pleasantly surprised to find out that I could see! Conclusion: As someone who used to recce hotels for performing artists as part of tour management/logistics, Lyf at Elizabeth St ticks all the boxes of a great stay – accommodating with good facilities, cleanliness, and fun and happy staff. Was such a great stay and my only regret was not doing a two-week trip this time round. Will definitely be back!

Check in late, room was wrongly assigned, booked a bigger room with added extra bed for my 3 boys was give a small room with no xtra bed, we booked a king bed room, was assigned a twin bed bigger room. We have to wait another half hour or more to change rooms and added the extra bed to the already small room for my kids. Then the reception said our rooms comes with breakfast without us asking which was also heard by my wife as well as her colleague, in which we thought it was complimentary after the wrongly assigned rooms. My kids enjoyed the breakfast as I normally don’t eat breakfast and but the follow night, I went down to the reception to ask if check out time can be extended which the same lady said she can extend it to 12pm, which we are glad, then I just told her the breakfast was enjoyable by my family and thank her for recommending them to us and also the complimentary offer. She check again on her computer then and a bit unsure and ask her senior colleague Austin to see if it was complimentary and that already raise my suspicion but her colleague said it is fine he will waive the charges if that happens as we already went through so much trouble with them. I felt relieved, thanking both of them , I went back to my room. At 11:40pm, my wife has already asleep and me almost to, the phone rang which startled my wife and myself , we answered and the same lady was on the line stating that they need to charge the breakfast for both days. I was a bit annoyed with this as we have already taken our breakfast for the first day which was offered to us as complimentary and then later in the middle of the night said we are charged ! The best part was as a 5 stars well known establishement, she tried to haggle with us on the price by saying she can offered some discount and then later she can give 50% discount for already consumed breakfast. My wife was furious and change her PJs and then we head down to the reception to settle this once and for all in the middle of the night. In the reception, we directly spoke to her supervisor whom heard of her offering us the complimentary breakfast in which he straight away cancel the charge for the morning breakfast and offer us a discounted breakfast the following morning. It was all a farce and inconvenience as well unreliability with their services which makes us go through so much stress for our family holiday. Anyway, we decided not to take up the offer and have to inform our children of the cancellation which disappointed them of course, but we think this whole incident is unfair. They said when we booked we choose no breakfast but the communication was it was complimentary for us for the disarray of arranging the room when we first check in. Besides we did not ask but was offered and said how good the breakfast was by your own staff. Also we did not extend our check out time as we were worried that they will charged us as we are totally have non confidence of what the staff said and actual offerings As my wife and myself are regular travellers, and normally we like to enjoy better accommodations, this is the first time these kind of incidents happen to us and at first we thought to booked Hyatt chain of hotels in our incoming Vietnam and Taiwan trip but we would be sceptical to do so after this. Please don’t get me wrong, the hotel is very nice, cleanliness , location and even food (our breakfast on day1) but the services was a let down to us and it is not about costs, it is about integrity and what been offered and not fulfilled and blame the clientele as well as the whole timing to disrupt the peace and enjoyable period of the guest.

Unfortunately, my experience at Novotel Melbourne Central was quite disappointing, especially considering that I had a very positive experience at Novotel Sydney, where my daughter and I were treated with great kindness and hospitality. I had an issue with the breakfast arrangement that was handled in a very uncomfortable and embarrassing way. At check-in, I specifically asked to add breakfast for the three days of our stay. I explained that I am an ALL – Accor Live Limitless member and that I had received an email stating that ALL members would receive a discount on breakfast. The receptionist confirmed the benefit and also told me that my 11-year-old daughter would not be charged. I was informed that the total cost for breakfast for the three days would be AUD 56. I paid the amount at check-in and, naturally, assumed everything had been correctly arranged. However, the following morning, when we went to breakfast, the staff member told me that breakfast was not included in my reservation. I explained that I had specifically added it during check-in and showed him the payment receipt from my card. Instead of simply checking the situation and resolving what was clearly a possible system or communication error, I was repeatedly questioned: who had checked me in, when I had become an ALL member, and whether I had any proof that breakfast had been added. The whole situation was extremely uncomfortable and embarrassing. I had done exactly what was required at check-in, had paid for the breakfast, and had proof of the payment. Nevertheless, I felt as though my word was being questioned. I explained that I would make a complaint. The staff member then reluctantly took down my room number and directed us to a table next to the service area, despite there being several vacant tables in the main dining area. This made the situation even more unpleasant. I understand that mistakes can happen, particularly if there is an issue with the hotel system or communication between staff members. What I found unacceptable was the way the situation was handled. It gave me the impression that the staff may not have received adequate training on how to deal with guests when an operational error occurs. The appropriate approach would have been to acknowledge the possibility of a mistake, verify the payment and resolve the issue discreetly and courteously, rather than making the guest feel embarrassed or disbelieved. Unfortunately, I also experienced problems with the cleanliness of the room. The bed was poorly made, the toilet and sink were clearly not properly cleaned, and a cup had been placed wet on the tray. These details contributed significantly to my overall negative impression of the hotel. This was particularly disappointing because our experience at Novotel Sydney was excellent. We were welcomed warmly, treated very well and felt genuinely looked after throughout our stay. Unfortunately, our experience in Melbourne was very different. I hope the hotel management will take this feedback seriously, particularly regarding staff training, guest communication and housekeeping standards. The issue could have been handled very differently and would have avoided turning a simple operational mistake into an unpleasant and embarrassing experience.

This is a very nice resort. The interior is very clean and large. Bed is comfortable and toilet is good with jacuzzi. You will see kangaroos and cockatoos outside the cottage in the morning and evening. My kids enjoy the stay very much. However you need to either cook your own meals or drive out to eat. The drive is about 15 mins.

The location is great and overall we had a very pleasant stay. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. However, housekeeping gave us a different surprise on both days. 😂 On one day, the card we had inserted in the room’s power slot was taken away. Another night, at around 11pm when we were getting ready for bed, we realized there was no duvet in the room. We called the front desk and were told that they had run out of duvets. Thankfully, the staff responded very quickly and brought us a brand-new, unopened duvet. Overall, we still enjoyed our stay!

The hotel's location is excellent, right in front of an MRT station, making transportation very convenient. There's also a small convenience store and a mala tang restaurant nearby. The main source of noise comes from the adjacent parking garage, where people sometimes chat, get drunk, and shout. Generally, the hotel staff are friendly and helpful, and the cleaning staff are also very willing to provide whatever you need. Plus, having a small kitchenette is a bonus, and you can exchange or borrow a hairdryer. For the price, it definitely offers good value. So, for the other aspects like noise, wearing earplugs helps, and the cleanliness is also up to par.

Warm welcome by receptionist. Awesome service. Quality and service at par excellence. Very much near to train stations. The Best Western was perfectly fine for my one-night business trip to Melbourne—clean enough and very well-located. My only real complaint is that basic amenities were missing; there was no toothpaste or bottled water in the room. It didn't ruin my stay, but adding these simple comforts would go a long way for short-stay guests.

Perfect location and an excellent place to stay. The hotel facilities are practically brand new, and both the reception staff and housekeeping team were friendly and professional throughout my stay.
