"The best aspect of this stay was by far the owner. He was incredibly, incredibly helpful and friendly — from the moment I walked in the door he offered me a cup of tea, then provided tea and bread the next morning for breakfast, offered advice on what to see in the area, arranged a car to take me to Dalzong Lake, and finally even found me a spot on a local minibus going to my next destination. I couldn’t have done half the things I did during my stay in Xiahe without his advice and efforts on my behalf, so that alone made staying here fully worthwhile! It’s worth mentioning that the guesthouse’s architecture is also absolutely beautiful, and everything looks quite new. It’s located down a quiet side alley off of one of the main commercial streets in town, which seems like the ideal placement. On the accommodations: I stayed in one of the two tents erected on the second floor of the guesthouse. This was largely quite a good experience! The bed was very comfortable (with a heated pad), water and towels provided, etc. The tents are not in a closed-off area, but rather on the second floor/balcony area that also is used for sitting, serving tea, etc., so privacy is somewhat limited, but the whole guesthouse is relatively quiet anyway so it doesn’t feel like a public space. My only suggestions for improvement would be related to the bathroom: during my stay, the shared bathroom for the tents was a sort of temporary-style booth installed in the corner of the room with a toilet, sink, and showerhead. The bathroom was very clean and everything inside worked well, but its sliding door separated from the wall enough that there was always a substantial enough space on one side or the other that could be seen through (the door also didn’t lock and slid back and forth easily). The booth was also small enough that, realistically, I think it would be a bit of a challenge to actually use it to shower. If possible it might be worth looking into some simple fixes to improve these situations, but otherwise I have no complaints!"

"Finally, I'm opening a new chapter in my Northwest travels! As someone who's always traveling, I'd never been to the Northwest before. This hotel is probably the best one around here; it's very new. In terms of location and how new it is, it's absolutely top-notch. The room was clean and tidy, and the cleaning lady made the bed perfectly every day. A special thanks to Manager No. 19 on duty, who humanely extended my check-out time because there weren't many flights and mine was late. If you're coming to Zhangye, staying here is definitely the way to go. Highly recommended!"

Guiyu Hotel | An Eternal Residence in Lanzhou Old Street ——Carving Time, Nestling in Guiyu Located in the cultural living room of Lanzhou City—the core area of Lanzhou Old Street, Guiyu Hotel takes "Treasure of Jincheng" as its concept, perfectly integrating the thousand-year cultural heritage of the Yellow River, the lingering charm of the Silk Road commercial port, and modern elegant sojourns. It creates a warm and unpolished jade-like realm for travelers, hidden amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life. "We take Lanzhou as the unpolished jade and time as the carving knife— Deep in the streets where camel bells still ring, we polish a sojourn memory shining with the brilliance of the Silk Road. Guiyu Hotel is more than just a place to stay; it is an eternal journey that Jincheng (Lanzhou) presents to you."

"Second stay here, and it's as good as ever. The laundry facilities were really convenient; I managed to wash all my clothes from the Grand Loop. Charging the car was easy, the bedding was comfortable, there were plenty of dining options, and the environment was excellent."

The hotel is equipped with a bicycle storage area, a car parking lot, a standardized safety monitoring system, and detailed and thoughtful itinerary planning as well as carpooling and chartering services. Looking forward to your visit!

"The hostel is good cared and clean. I think I saw a housekeeper every time when I went out from my room and she was always cleaning smth. That attitude already says a lot about the place. There is a nice not big common area with TV and we even watched a bit of Titanic, water dispenser with available cold and hot water. The staff is speaking English and they organise different tours around the area. It’s very handy. We took 2 tours with them and enjoyed a lot. One to PingShanHu canyon and another to Colourful Danxia. We also met many good-hearted foreign and local travellers there and made friends with some. Speaking about the room the condition was good enough. We shared one room with my friend. It’s a great value for money. Thank you for the incredible stay!"

Hotel near Tianshui City Square,Tianshui
It may not be green mountains and clear waters, but it may also be the dim lights, slowly savoring the fireworks in the Qingwaguan Lane. This homestay is located in the courtyard of No. 4 Xinmin Lane in Tianshui Ancient City. It is close to the central square of the ancient city, with a comfortable environment and convenient transportation. The homestay is decorated mainly in log style, with exquisite woven accessories, and the room design is ingenious, with both traditional classical charm and modern comfort. Whether it is a spacious and bright twin room or a warm and romantic double room, you can feel the warmth and comfort of home. Here, you can unload all your fatigue and enjoy a quiet and comfortable life. When night falls, sit in the yard, cook wine and fry tea, and look up to see the stars, as if time has slowed down, making people forget the troubles of the world. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from Fuxi Temple. The central square and Haiying Malatang are a 10-minute walk away, with convenient travel, welcome to you!

"The location is inside Tianshui Ancient City, a bit hard to find. Breakfast is a collaboration with the shop next door, only available from 8 AM, which is different from the information provided here. The room's screen mirroring works fine, but there are constant ads… The room doesn't have a key; it has a combination lock, so you don't have to worry about only having one card for two people. The front desk provides many free small items that you can use. The downsides are that if you stay on the first floor, you'll hear noise from outside, and if no one is at the front desk during check-in, you'll have to wait."

"As someone who frequently stays in hotels, I found the hardware facilities to be good, but the service fell short. My overall experience was not great. Here are a few points I found unsatisfactory: 1. The communication during check-in wasn't pleasant, though they did allow me to check in early. 2. The breakfast quality was decent, but there were too few seats in the restaurant. Having to walk around with my food, searching for and waiting for a table, is something I've rarely encountered. 3. I saw food delivery drivers going directly to guest rooms multiple times. Do they not need a key card to access floors? 4. The toiletries were in wall-mounted dispensers that required a lot of force to use, especially the conditioner. This was particularly difficult for me as I had an injury on my hand. 5. I had confirmed a late checkout until 3 PM via Trip.com. I understand the front desk might not have been aware, and a simple phone confirmation would have sufficed. However, I found their passive-aggressive tone about me not mentioning it proactively to be unprofessional. I won't list other minor issues. Personally, I don't expect hotel staff to be overly enthusiastic, but they shouldn't make guests feel uncomfortable. The 2-star service rating is specifically for the two ladies at the restaurant's front desk around 9:30 AM on the 20th. They were consistently warm and greeted guests throughout my stay, leaving a strong positive impression. On the positive side, the hotel facilities are new, the room layout is good, and the soundproofing is effective. It's located near a plaza or residential buildings, so it's not noisy. The hotel is also very close to Zhangye West Station, and with a parking lot, it's convenient for those traveling by car."

Hotel near Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Spring,Dunhuang
"Before coming, I saw some negative reviews about FM (presumably 'facilities/maintenance') and was quite worried. However, I decided to give it a try for a unique experience with my child. Upon arrival, all my worries disappeared. The hotel is located within Mingsha Mountain, so non-guests cannot enter, which provides good privacy. The air conditioning was already on when we arrived, and the staff were very warm and accommodating, always ready to help with anything we needed. You can even order takeout to the hotel. If you're comparing it to a 4- or 5-star hotel, the facilities might fall a bit short, as it's more like a glamping site. But if you're looking for a different kind of experience, especially with kids, I highly recommend this place. My child absolutely loved running around freely in the desert; we didn't have to worry about a thing and just let them play. In the evening, there's a bonfire party where they even teach you a bit about the stars. All in all, my child had a fantastic time. The only downside is that it gets incredibly hot during the day, so I'd recommend waiting until after sunset to really enjoy the outdoor activities."

CChalatudeshengjingEvery time we visit Lanzhou to see family, we stay at the Grand Hyatt. Room 3906 on the 39th floor has become a cherished memory for our family during each visit. The two-story accommodation is perfect for a family, and it's spotlessly clean. What truly surprised me was that all the water is purified and incredibly soft. Given that Gansu water is usually very alkaline, this small detail is really impressive. I'll definitely choose the Grand Hyatt again on my next trip to Lanzhou, and I hope they continue to maintain this excellent standard.

GGuest UserThe boss was very enthusiastic. I contacted him one day in advance and waited for us at the station early the next morning. The accommodation was close to the East Gate. We said we were going to Crescent Lake and Mingsha Mountain. The boss took the initiative to drive us to the Middle Gate, saying that we could save 20 yuan on the shuttle bus fare. The next day, we signed up for a tour group to go out and play. The boss also sent us to the boarding point early in the morning. The boss was afraid that it would be inconvenient to go back after the Crescent Lake Music Festival, so he also came to pick us up, making our travel very convenient. The accommodation environment is also very good, and the steamed bun for breakfast is particularly large.

HHuangqijinqiangyuI brought my parents, who are in their 70s, to visit Maiji Mountain. The hostess was incredibly warm and attentive. After arriving at the North Gate 1 of the Maiji Mountain scenic area, we just made a call and she came directly to pick us up and take us to the guesthouse. The room was spotless, not a speck of dust anywhere. For dinner, we had mushroom stew with free-range chicken and stir-fried wild vegetables – truly delicious! 😋 The next day, she dropped us off at the entrance of the Maiji Mountain scenic spot at 7:30 AM, so we were the first ones to go in at 8:30 AM. After our visit, we saw a super long queue had already formed outside. Afterward, we took a taxi to explore Xianren Cliff and Jingtu Temple. Finally, the hostess even drove our luggage to the Line 34 bus stop to drop us off. It was a truly perfect day, so relaxed and easy. We avoided the crowds in the morning and didn't have to wait in long lines, making for a 10/10 visiting experience. Huge thanks to the hostess for the pick-up and drop-off service!

GGuest UserThe newly renovated room was incredibly stylish. The desk and partition were integrated seamlessly, and the sink, bathtub, and toilet were all separated, providing excellent privacy. I particularly loved the washbasin's unique material – water drops created a lovely chime. A room of this size in Japan could easily be two separate units! The mini-fridge was very handy for storing food, which was a lifesaver for our early 8:45 AM slot at the Mogao Grottoes Digital Center. The outer walls were 48 bricks thick, providing great earthquake resistance and insulation. They also had all the amenities, including a smoke escape mask, razor, and bath liner. The pick-up and drop-off service was an added bonus. The 9th-floor restaurant terrace offered fantastic views. A special shout-out to Xiaodai, who arranged our airport pick-up. After booking our flights and hotel on Ctrip, I confirmed the pick-up with the hotel. On April 2nd, flying from Chengdu to Lanzhou, then Lanzhou to Dunhuang (with a stopover in Jiayuguan), our flight was delayed three times due to strong winds. Xiaodai kept in constant communication with me, even confirming again when we were pushed back and taxing in Jiayuguan. We finally arrived 4 hours late. The moment I turned on my phone after landing, I received a message from driver Mr. Wu, who picked us up smoothly and got us to the hotel. Following Xiaodai's advice, we left at 7:50 AM for the Mogao Grottoes Digital Center, making it to the 8:45 AM first show. We then successfully got tickets for our desired special grottoes and visited all the open areas of the Mogao Grottoes. On April 4th, I went to the front desk to ask about the bus to the airport and happened to find Xiaodai on duty. She told me they could arrange a drop-off. When I gave her my room number, she recognized me from our earlier pick-up arrangements. My interactions with Xiaodai showed me the hotel's excellent service, with attention to every single detail. If 10 is the highest score, I'd give them a 12. Dunhuang is a place you'll want to visit more than once or twice.

LLux.EThis was my first stop in China and I’m so happy that I stayed in Dunhuang at Baibaili Hotel. I was looked after so well, the hospitality of the staff extended many times for several necessities and I’m touched by their hospitality. This will for a very long time, be my remarkable first impression of China, its people and their culture. The location is perfect if you want to stay a bit further out from town and enjoy the silence of being closer to the desert and the stunning design of the place. Beautiful and comfortable room, all the final touches refined every day and after 24 hrs of travelling; a generous fruit and snack plate that grounded me sweetly into Dunhuang upon arrival and farewelled me just after mid-autumn with a beautiful moon cake. Their communication was frequent and always made sure I had what I needed. Thank you so much Baibaili

FFaliangwangzhegirlThis stay was absolutely delightful! I was initially worried about the location being a bit out of the way, so I only booked one night. To my surprise, getting a taxi on the first night was super easy, so we extended our stay. While there aren't other guesthouses right around ours, we noticed a whole street full of guesthouses nearby, which seemed crowded and noisy. At night, lying in bed, you can hear the wind brushing against the walls, but it's not loud; it actually feels like being in harmony with nature. My husband and I also went gold panning – if you find gold coins, you can exchange them for prizes. We went enthusiastically, expecting a small sandbox like in a park, but it was a massive area! **Mingsha Mountain View Afternoon Tea:** The chilled apricot peel tea was delicious. **Fengmingsha Desert Restaurant - 30% off coupon for set meals:** After we landed, the butler collected our luggage and told us hotpot was ready, just waiting for us to freshen up and eat. The lamb wasn't ***** at all, and the dipping sauce was really tasty.

SSimona F.I loved the Courtyard B&B. The rural but very chic style. My room was generous, furnishing in the same traditional style. Clean throughout The reception area very attractive and provides nice secluded spaces for relaxing- working in my case) under Bamboo trees and mandala decorated glasses of the ceiling. Very peaceful. I very much appreciated the presence of a kittens with mum and a little doggie which I perceived like mascotte of the place. They were very well maintained and cared of. The stuff is very nice and helpful and we were able to understand each others in some way. I highly recommend this accomodation both for holiday and work.
