Excellent stay, friendly staff, this hotel offers a minimalistic lean style genre Moxy and CitizenM. I stayed here last year and found the price-quality ratio excellent. My total stay now was 9 days. The bar and restaurant are excellent, and the breakfast satisfactory for a European hotel (I live in Asia where you’d expect several warm meals, noodles and rice for breakfast!) However, I extended my stay by a couple of days, and I don’t find that they handled this edge case too well. First a hotel staff member knocked on my door and asked why I hadn’t checked out. I explained the situation and all seemed fine. But later that day housekeeping staff barged into my room several times unannounced , seemingly unaware the room was still occupied (why is there no button with a don’t disturb sign? Or even an old school door hanger?). So please JAM, you need to improve your processes better.

Beautiful hotel with perfect view of a cathedral from our twin room. Hotel is in a historic building with lovely architectural features by the canal and the room we were in was a cleverly designed ”duplex” with the bathroom and sinks on the upper floor (ie loft) which made full use of the almost double volume ceiling in the smallish twin room we were in. The only drawback was that the steps were narrow and steep and would pose a problem if one had mobility issues. The toilet was located by the door next to the entrance but there was no sink for handwashing. Alcohol gel in a pump bottle was provided. There is a café, lifestyle / clothes shop and supermarket in the same building. Very convenient and the hotel's location was walkable to all the sights in Ghent central. The front desk staff were very polite and gracious and allowed us to store our luggage when we arrived before 11am, since check-in was strictly at 4pm. We were happy to find that our suitcases had been already delivered to our room when we returned to the hotel at 4pm. There are 2 bars in the hotel - one which is open to the public which was buzzing in the evenings and a guest-only ”Honesty Bar” (1st photo) in which hotel guests could purportedly help themselves to liquor and pen down what they had imbibed - but I never saw anyone in it ! This could be due to a lack of ice or mixers. Or glasses. 🍸

We specially enjoyed the bath tube in the room we stayed. The location was also great, as you can connect directly to the shopping district. Staffs were very friendly and helpful.

A very good four-star hotel with very good service. There is a free parking lot at the door. It is very important for us who are traveling by car. It is very convenient to turn in at the highway intersection. There is also a very rich breakfast and a mini refrigerator. We stayed for two days Very satisfied, will stay again next time

I had a fantastic stay! The hotel was spotlessly clean overall, and my room was meticulously serviced, making the environment impeccable. The soundproofing in the room was excellent, ensuring a quiet and comfortable atmosphere perfect for a good night's sleep. The location is superb, offering great convenience for getting around. There are also plenty of dining options nearby, making meals incredibly easy. The hotel's facilities are comprehensive, covering all daily necessities. Overall, it offers great value for money, and my experience was exceptional. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip.

Because I joined a domestic tour group halfway through, I stayed at the hotel. It feels good. The hotel is relatively new and not big, but it is clean and the bed is comfortable. The pillows are weird, square and not good for pillows. , The front desk service is very good, and also helped us to arrange a taxi to Brussels Airport.

Location is geared more toward those who intend to take quite a bit of daily intercity train trips like us. It's very, very near the ghent st Peters station. Hence, there is not much night activity or eateries around the area. But it's an easy bus ride toward the town centre thus its not too much of a hassle to travel within the city. Service at the main desk was professional and friendly. I stayed 4 nights there, and on the last day of my stay, the cleaning lady did not bother to clean the room or take out the trash. I complained about this to the front office lady, and she was apologetic and waived my city tax payment. Overall, I would still stay there if I need to go on daily intercity train trips as the price is actually quite reasonable. I only ranked the service as 4 stars due to the lapse of cleaning service on the last day.

Sint Niklaas was going thru a process of major road and town works. Confusing one-way systems at play gave me a flat tyre reversing back around the right way and hitting a bunch of stones popping out the ground near the kerb. I think it would be nice to return once the town face-lift is complete... 🤔 Ibis, I thought you'd be better than that. €20 deposit for a kettle and no milk, coffee, tea, or sugar in your room on arrival.. 😒 The ladies working there were lovely enough to give my gf & I a smile 🥰 they know where to park and at what times to pay the machines at the car parks 🤓 Cheap and fairly cheerful but also stressful to load and unload. 🤕

On June 14th, I booked a one-night stay for July 5th at the Ghent Marriott Hotel through Ctrip. The room type was a Canal View Deluxe Room (King Bed), costing RMB 2885 (excluding breakfast). To ensure a good canal view, I also made a special request via Ctrip, and they confirmed they would arrange it (see picture 2). Upon arrival, I was extremely disappointed. During check-in, the receptionist seemed to avoid eye contact and asked us to see the room first. What we saw was a wall, and only by leaning out could we catch a glimpse of a corner of the canal (see pictures 3, 4, and video). How can this possibly be considered a Canal View Deluxe Room? Isn't this just playing with words? And the 'arrangement confirmed' reply I received was nothing but an empty promise! Although we argued our case, the front desk claimed it was a system issue or a problem with the third-party platform, and that no other rooms were available. In the end, they compensated us with breakfast vouchers for two and two boat tour tickets. We were very angry. If a canal view room wasn't available, they should have informed us; we could have booked another hotel offering much better value for money! Moreover, why should consumers suffer emotional and material damages due to a system error?! Our primary reason for choosing the Marriott's Canal View Deluxe Room was specifically to open the window and enjoy the canal view! This was a huge disappointment!

MMax017The best hotel we’ve had so far! Room comes with a mini kitchen (fridge, induction cooker, microwave, pans, and utensils). There was even Nespresso machine and pods. The facilities are modem and the place is clean. The staffs are friendly plus you can buy Ghent city card at the counter! You can walk to the old town in about 15 minutes or take the bus which is just a few minutes walk away from the hotel. Highly recommended and will definitely come back here.

GGuest UserThe two single beds requested were provided but it was not a safe arrangement as one bed was on a really elevated platform (four steps high from the ground) making it not easily accessible and frankly quite unsafe! The room was basic beyond imagination and even for a budget hotel was very poor. The room was on street level and the noise and headlights from the cars passing throughout the night was disturbing. The parking was very expensive and made the overall cost of the overnight stay not good value for money. The whole thing was very disappointing!

MM29132****Location-wise, it's right next to Ghent City Hall, super central! Most of Ghent's attractions are within a 10-minute walk, and there are plenty of supermarkets and restaurants nearby, like Carrefour and McDonald's. However, because it's so central, it can get a bit noisy; you can still hear people on the street late into the night. Service: The front desk staff were all very friendly and enthusiastic, and there's complimentary water. Facilities: It's an older hotel, which is fine, but the TV isn't a smart TV so you can't cast to it. The air conditioning didn't seem to heat up enough, even when set to the maximum fan speed and highest temperature. On the upside, the room itself is very spacious. Cleanliness: It was very clean. Overall, for a few hundred yuan, staying in a chain hotel like this offers good value for money.
