Trip Moments Recommendations
#Shinsaibashisuji Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
How to have fun on your first trip to Osaka? Please take this travel guide
📢 The off-season airfare from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai to Osaka has dropped to around a thousand yuan, budget hotels are about three to four hundred yuan, the electronic visa application is simple and quick to process, and overall, Osaka feels cheaper than many places in China.
🤔️ What to do in Osaka?
💐 Conventional attractions:
Shinsaibashi → Dotonbori → Osaka Castle Park → Tsutenkaku → Namba Yasaka Shrine → Universal Studios
🎉 Offbeat attractions:
1⃣️ Wakayama Kuroshio Market - Kishigawa Line Cat Train
2⃣️ Ikoma Mountain Cat and Dog Tramway
3⃣️ Osaka PL Tower for giant object enthusiasts
🏨 Where to stay in Osaka?
Staying near Shinsaibashi, Namba, or Umeda is super convenient! There are plenty of shopping malls and food options, and it's a transportation hub, so you can travel to Nara, Kobe, or Wakayama without having to check out and move your luggage, allowing for day trips.
🍖 What to eat in Osaka?
Osaka has a plethora of delicious food, from high-end cuisine to local specialties
🍜 Ramen: Don't go to the long-queued Ichiran Ramen and Kinryu Ramen! They are expensive and average in taste. Ippudo and Jinza Ramen are much better
🍣 Sushi: There are many delicious sushi restaurants, and Daiki Sushi is fresh and affordable, with an average cost of less than a hundred yuan RMB to eat to your heart's content
🍙 Rice Balls: You must try the rice balls from various convenience stores, trust me! Convenience stores are my breakfast canteen in Japan
🛍️ Where to go shopping in Osaka?
🔸 Umeda: A huge maze-like shopping district formed by department stores such as Hanshin, Hankyu, Daimaru, and Yodobashi Camera
🔸 Shinsaibashi: Many drugstores and small shops with lots of tourists, and luxury stores next door have queues every day
🔸 Orange Street: A gathering place for Osaka's trendy brands, which generally don't open until 11 am, so going early is pointless
Who says there's no nightlife in Japan when you can have fun in Osaka at night
When I traveled to Japan, one thing that shocked me was that the shops in Japan really close early, and the streets are basically deserted after nine o'clock (especially in ancient cities like Kyoto)🥲 Tokyo and Osaka, the big cities, are relatively better, but the nightlife is not as rich and colorful as I imagined💔 This note tells you where you can go to play in Osaka at night~
1⃣️Shinsaibashi & Dotonbori, this is one of the busiest night markets in Osaka, with food, shopping, and shops all available🍢 It can be said to be the largest and most complete shopping place! And there are many anime check-in places hehe😁 The super famous Glico Man sign is also in Dotonbori oh🙈
2⃣️Umeda Hep Five, there are Ferris wheels and many izakayas here, as well as some large shopping malls, which are also good places to experience Osaka nightlife🎡 If Dotonbori is more down-to-earth, then the Umeda business district will be relatively high-end, with all major luxury stores gathered~
3⃣️Universal Studios Osaka, the movie city is more atmospheric at night~ Especially the world of Harry Potter🌍
4️⃣Tsutenkaku, also one of the landmarks of Japan, you can see the colorful Osaka city at night. Coming to Tsutenkaku, it's like stepping into an anime, everything is as beautiful as a comic❤️
Of course~ In addition to the above famous landmarks and attractions, you can also choose a bar, invite three or five friends to chat and drink, and experience your own Osaka nightlife🍷

The Night Life Of Osaka
#japan #osaka #citylights #nightlife #foodie #shinsaibashi #touristsattracion #dotonbori
The city of Osaka is known for its extensive neon lights, night life and foodie heaven which is located in a region at Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori which is only located next to each other.
Firstly, this place is crazily crowded, filled with tourists and locals something like new York City times square but the Japanese version. The buildings around you will be filled with neon advertisements lights and there are insane amount of food choices here. From bars, to restaurants and some even located in back alleys too! Apart from food there are also loads of nightclubs for party goers.
Don't drive here, take the public train here as parking can be quite hard to find and the jam on the roads are bad too!
Go to Japan 🇯🇵 and wear a kimono 👘 for tourism
Because I've been immersed in the world of anime since I was young, I've always wanted to visit Japan 🇯🇵.
Finally fulfilled my wish!
Osaka - Shinsaibashi - Nara, let's go!
🚉Transportation guide: Trains! Trains! Trains! The biggest challenge of traveling in Japan! After visiting Japan N times, I finally learned that it's essential to use navigation and ask for help when taking trains. Many stations have translations available, so don't hesitate to ask for assistance!
🏨Hotel environment: Actually, hotels in Japan are quite expensive. Staying in a homestay BNB or something similar is good enough, after all, it's impossible to stay for just one or two days when traveling. It is recommended to stay near Shinsaibashi, where shopping and subway 🚇 are very convenient!
🧳Preparation before travel: Prepare more cash! It's better to use all cash. Also, Japanese people don't like noise and cutting in line, so it's best not to eat while walking or shopping, and you may be stopped from doing so in malls! Moreover, there are few trash cans there, so it's best to bring your own!
🌟Highlight features: You can take photos near Kiyomizu Temple, where there are more Japanese architectural features, and you can also pray at Kiyomizu Temple~
👍Most recommended:
Shinsaibashi is a shopping paradise where you can basically find anything you want to buy.
Nara, Nara Prefecture. Watch the deer, not much else to do. This place is still a bit desolate.
Kiyomizu-dera Temple: Take photos, pray for blessings, and appreciate the cultural scenery of Japan.
Shopping Street Experience in ShinsaiBashi
Shinsaibashi is an area near Namba, the center of Osaka sightseeing, and Dotonbori. Here, you’ll find a famous Osaka shopping arcade called Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street.
Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street is approximately 600 meters (1,968 feet) long. If you include the separate shopping streets connected to the front and back of Shinsaibashi, then the shopping district itself is a total two kilometers in length.
Drugstores and shops with cosmetics, duty-free items, 100-yen items, and character goods line the street. There are also many restaurants and cafés. Just about everything a shopper would want is here.
In this article, we’ll introduce the kind of shops there are in Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street, separated by category. Directions to the shopping street are written at the end of this article, so be sure to use it for future reference.
Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street begins at the Ebisu Bridge located right in the middle of Dotonbori. Look opposite the Glico sign pictured above (the signboard with the character raising its hands).

If you want to go shopping in Osaka, I think Shinsaibashi should be the first choice. 🎁
From first-line luxury brands to fast-moving consumer brands, there is a complete range of products, which means that there are too many people, 😼especially in large shopping malls such as Daimaru Department Store, when the peak is coming, tax refunds will be busier! 😁
The small stands on both sides of the streets are full of Japanese food. You can enjoy it. Friends who love the night market can also find first-class perfect night market here!🤘🤛
#happynewyear
Looking at Dotombori river on a boat tour gave me a different point of view for this area. At first I thought Dotombori river was a little dirty and not so pretty, but at night after hop on the guide boat, my thought has been totally changed! It was really beautiful and so energetic and I loved the neon signs that the buildings are showing☺️ After taking a boat tour I went to the famous Don Quijote for shopping and it was such a fun night out :) Please note that if you have certain train passes or book a boat tour online in advance, you can get a discount!

Osakas Shinsaibashi, a pedestrian street in 365 every year, even if its a peak trip, its just everyone on the street. Anyway, you cant hide it. Dont hide it during the National Day food!
This street has giant crabs! Dumplings! Takoyaki! Pineapple buns! Just see these huge signs and the index finger moves! I can't wait to have 9 stomachs!
There is a tip: there is a place called Shinchon near Shinsaibashi. There are many very special shops, and there are very few tourists, mainly locals will go there more!
If you like, you can navigate the past with your mobile map~ you will be full! (This is when I cut my hair in Osaka, let the local hair stylist recommend it to me! It really is great!)
In 1 day, you will have to visit the attractions, enjoy authentic food, and visit popular shopping places!
[Journey Overview]
Morn visit Osaka Castle Park, visit Osaka's landmark buildings; then board the Tsutenkaku overlooking Osaka; go shopping in the afternoon, open the ring!

I came to Osaka, Japan for the third time, and I punched the Japanese Shinsaibashi for the third time. I dont think Im really coming to Osaka.
For the choice of accommodation in Osaka, I highly recommend Shinsaibashi. My second and third visit to Osaka is now Shinsaibashi. First of all, it is Osakas shopping destination, street shopping place, gourmet holy place, you What you want to buy in Japan can be found here basically, and it is a well-deserved popular king. Secondly, the food you want to eat in Japan can basically be eaten here. Finally, its traffic is really convenient. It can be directly connected to the subway, Shinkansen, JR, etc., or to the place you want to go. It is also very convenient to the airport.
When it comes to the food of Shinsaibashi, Dotonbori is definitely not to be missed. The special troubles here are beyond your imagination. There are various food temptations on both sides of the road, especially various octopus balls, which are said to be The best in Osaka. Of course, there are many tourists here, so be sure to pay attention to safety when visiting here.
Osaka Shinsaibashi Travel
is very lively at night, but it is also very beautiful during the day.
The light is brighter than the night, and it is very quiet during the day.
I wear a French-style polka-dot dress on this day
Walk in a small and quiet street, the breeze blows, really nice,
Osaka's best travel season I I think it is early spring and early autumn, the weather is a little bit cool, there are maple leaves, there are cherry blossoms
I came to Osaka with the procurement task of my mom and friends. For me, shopping in Osaka and Tokyo is a familiar one, and it takes only three days to get back and forth. If you are in Osaka, you will definitely prefer the Tokyu Hands of Shinsaibashi. From the 7th floor to the 1st floor, you will go shopping on the first floor. This time in addition to stationery, cleaning, skin care and makeup, I also noticed that the angel dolls that are very hot on the vibrato are also sold, and the various styles are cute and dead.
In addition, pens, chopsticks, wallets, etc. can be freely engraved now. I bought a name with a small bottle as his birthday gift for the weekend. In addition, I bought a bunch of cherry blossom gift bags, handmade earrings, rainbow pens, scented pens and other small things. Under my extreme restraint, my 24-inch suitcase was barely enough.

Compared to Tokyo, I prefer Osaka, Japan. Last time I went to Japan, I was from Tokyo to Osaka - Tokyo, instead of following the traditional customs of Kanto and Kansai. I took everything I needed, and it was very convenient to take the new main line.
Tokyo felt more like Shanghai, skyscrapers, and high-end shopping malls, with people everywhere.
Osaka perfectly suited my preferences, and the business was relatively developed. The market was relatively open, and the attractions were not inferior to Tokyo. Compared to Tokyo's complex subway lines, Osaka is much simpler, and there are not many lines at the same station, making it almost less prone to errors.
Business is very fond of shopping. Xinzhaiqiao and Tongtian Pavilion have endless shops to explore, and high-end shopping malls can leave Meitian. Several commercial districts are very close.
The culinary culture of Tongtian Pavilion is very unique, with a variety of three-dimensional signs and top advertising design companies in the area. Friends who have the ability to develop and study design aesthetics can go and savor the taste carefully.
UNIVERSAL enjoys playing and is very suitable for heart friendly friends. The cultural attractions are also good, and Osaka City Park is relatively more peaceful, open, and comfortable.
Dapo is cheaper than Tokyo in terms of food, accommodation, and consumption. So, where do people prefer?

🏨Accommodation
Xiao Residence
The guesthouse I stayed in is called JS Xiao Residence・Ebisu Honmachi Kan'na, just a five-minute walk from Imamiyaebisu Station, with direct access from Kansai Airport via the Nankai Line. It's one stop away from Namba, and then Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori are within walking distance. It's a ten-minute walk to Tsutenkaku, quiet amidst the hustle and bustle, very convenient.
The guesthouse is a three-story Japanese-style building, simple but stylishly designed, with attention to detail, and many corners infused with Japanese flair.
🔑Received the smart electronic password from the housekeeper in advance, entered the password, and unlocked the door with one click. No more worries about losing keys. You can contact the housekeeper 24 hours a day if you need anything.
🧸There's even a gift when checking in, a face mask and bath salts for soaking, which are very thoughtful. Xiao Residence's mascot 'Xiao Xi' is very cute.
1⃣️The entrance on the first floor is spacious, with a high-ceilinged genkan, creating a comfortable sense of space. The bedroom is a traditional tatami room, with a Japanese-style garden designed next to the bed, allowing you to enjoy the serenity of Japan while lying in bed.🛁The bathroom is separated into wet and dry areas, equipped with a fully automatic washing machine with a drying function, and a device that converts hard water to soft water, leaving you feeling smooth after washing, enjoying a private soak without leaving home.
2⃣️The second floor houses the living room, dining room, and kitchen
The living room features a 4kHDR high-definition LED TV, high-end and smart. The dining table and chairs by the window are stylish and tasteful, and there's a full set of Japanese smart kitchen appliances, making cooking romantic. After dinner, brewing tea with a national treasure-level craft, the Nambu iron kettle, is too comfortable.
3⃣️The third floor even has two attic bedrooms, with unique skylight designs, allowing you to gaze at the stars at night.
📍Address: 〒556-0013 Osaka Prefecture, Naniwa Ward, Ebisuhonmachi 2-8-3
🍴Food;
🥤Xiao Tea
Walking from the guesthouse to Namba, passing by a milk tea shop with the mascot Shiba Inu lion head Xiao Xi on top, very eye-catching, next to the popular idol group NMB48's official store.
Ordered a set that includes a signature tea drink and a lemon-based dessert. The tea is not the usual milk tea, but also has the flavor of traditional Cantonese herbal tea, refreshing and unique.
The lemon-flavored dessert cake is rich, combined with some green tea flavor, not very sweet, with a fragrant and sticky texture, perfectly paired with the tea drink.
📍Address: 3-10 Namba Sennichimae, Chuo Ward, Osaka City
🥩Xiao Beef BBQ
Discovered this Wagyu BBQ in the bustling area of Dotonbori, had the owner put together a few different cuts of meat, the beef heart was crisp, the Wagyu fat was evenly distributed, melting in the mouth, sweet and smooth, each piece with a different texture. Coincidentally, there were also fresh beef liver sashimi and tripe sashimi that day, my first try, and it's said that they can't be served if not fresh enough.
This restaurant uses A5 Wagyu, and each cow has its own identity certificate - a pedigree certificate! It can be traced back to its ancestors for three generations. It is said that they are bred in specialized farms for over a thousand days, which makes the taste better.
📍Address: 7-12 2f, Soemoncho, Chuo Ward, Osaka Prefecture, Osaka City
🚇Transportation
Recommend installing the Suica watermelon card on your mobile wallet in advance and topping it up. No deposit required, usable on JR, subway, bus, convenience stores... etc.
📱Communication
Still used the Yidian card phone card this time, downloaded the Yidian app to buy the card, top up, check the balance, and smoothly access all websites. For looking up addresses and transportation, I used Google Map, which is very accurate.

Shinsaibashi is really good for shopping
How can you not visit Shinsaibashi when you come to Osaka?!
Iconic buildings, endless crowds, enjoying food all the way😎, it's really a city walk!
We shopped from afternoon to night, when we were tired and hungry, we ate something along the street. There were not many people in Daimaru Department Store, we found a blind box shop and bought a lot of interesting🤔 little things.
When we came out, it was already dark, the crowd began to increase, and the whole Shinsaibashi became more lively~
The Walking Pork Belly - A Day of Rampage in Osaka
Who among my family understands! I walked 40,000 steps in Osaka yesterday, really tired to the point of leg weakness😫 But I also saw a lot of beautiful scenery and food, it's really worth it👍
I started from Shinsaibashi in the morning, walked along the Dotonbori River, and saw a lot of traditional Japanese buildings and snack shops. Especially that popular barbecue shop🍢, there were so many people in line! I couldn't help but queue for half an hour, tasted their barbecue, it was really delicious😋
Then I went to the Kuromon Market, where there are a lot of seafood and fruits, very fresh, and the prices are also very affordable. I bought some sea urchins and salmon🍣, and made a seafood feast at home👍
In the afternoon, I went to Osaka Castle Park, where there is a very spectacular castle, you can climb to the top of the castle to overlook the entire city. I also went to the Tenshukaku, where there are many exhibits about the history and culture of Osaka Castle, which are very worth seeing👀
In the evening, I went to the night market in Shinsaibashi, where there are a lot of snacks and handicrafts, and you can stroll until late. I bought some snacks and souvenirs, ready to take back to give to my family and friends🎁
Although I was tired from walking all day, I felt it was very worthwhile because I saw a lot of beautiful scenery and food, and also learned a lot about the history and culture of Osaka. If you travel to Osaka, be sure to go to these places!😊

Only 2 days in Osaka, I didn't choose to go to USJ alone, I booked the Osaka tour card 2-day pass (152rmb) in advance, it is recommended to redeem the ticket at Osaka airport, I was going to exchange the ticket at Namba station on the same day, there were a lot of Koreans, and it took half an hour to exchange it. The 2-day pass has less transportation range than the 1-day pass, but it meets my travel needs.
day1: Osaka North Sightseeing: Osaka History Museum-Osaka Castle-Tenshukaku-Umeda Sky Garden Observatory-Kenya Yukiji Art Museum-Hep Five Ferris Wheel-Dotonbori
📒Other instructions: This transportation ticket includes transportation and admission, most of the attractions in Osaka require admission, Osaka Castle Tenshukaku can be queued with the ticket; the cruise ship of Osaka Castle must go early, if it is late, it will not be open to pass holders on the same day. Umeda Observatory is free with a ticket before 16:00. The Nishinomaru Garden is so boring, don't go
💙Attraction features: There is a Chinese map in the museum, and you can overlook Osaka Castle from the museum. Tenshukaku introduces Tokugawa Ieyasu and Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and you can overlook Osaka Castle from the top floor. The Sky Garden Observatory goes in at four o'clock, and the sunset is beautiful. Hepfive Ferris Wheel is relatively boring, in the bustling commercial district, you can only see pedestrians and passing trams. Dotonbori is very lively at night, go to the famous Glico to take a photo, if you make an appointment early, you can also take a free cruise.

day2: Osaka South Sightseeing: Shitennoji-Keisei Garden-Shitennoji Zoo-Tsutenkaku (General Observatory)-ZAZA ZAZA Live Comedy Show
📒Other instructions: There are also some free experiences of cruise ships, Ferris wheels and museums in the package. If you have time, you can arrange it reasonably, but the cruise ship has a fixed departure time, and there is a limit to the reservation. You must arrange it early. The cruise ship in Dotonbori can book a night ship in the morning (although it is just a not very clear 3-meter-wide waterway) There are so many people in Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi at night~
💙Attraction features: There are many children in the zoo, the animals are not particularly rich, and you can go with children. ZAZA comedy live is similar to Japanese talk show, I originally went with a curious mentality, but found that I couldn't understand it at all, the performance was 30 minutes, and it was difficult to escape, not recommended. Tsutenkaku can play slides with tickets, but there are many people in line.
The Hungry Backpacker s Adventure Osaka street
Osaka's streets, a bustling canvas of flavors, beckon with irresistible street food treasures. Navigating the vibrant stalls, I embarked on a culinary adventure, discovering the city's heartbeat in every bite. From Takoyaki's crispy perfection to Okonomiyaki's savory symphony, each delicacy unveiled Osaka's gastronomic prowess. The bustling energy of the streets mingled with the sizzle of street grills, creating an unforgettable feast for the senses. In this lively tapestry of tastes, Osaka's street food not only tantalized the palate but also painted a vivid portrait of the city's dynamic culinary spirit. 🍢🌆 #OsakaStreetFeast #FlavorsOfOsaka

Things To Do In Shinsaibashi + Namba Osaka
#fallishere
Osaka is bustling city filled with life, it is always seen crowded with people and you just got to love the atmosphere there. Fall is here and so was Halloween, walk down the streets of Shinsaibahi and Namba, which is closely connected to each other, and you will see people dressed in their most creative halloween costumes. Go take pictures with them but always ask for permission first before doing so.
Both namba and Shinsaibashi is a shopping street. You will be fascinated with how many shops there are. Do drop by Anello which is a famous local bag shop, spot h&m, ASICS for shoes and many other local brands. You can shop till you drop here. There's a ton of eateries/restaurants in those area and you will never go hungry. Try some street food stalls for example, the famous cremia ice cream in Osaka and also the famous ice cream melon pan. They were so yummy! Take a walk along the namba River or you can even take a boat ride to soak in the lights and sounds of this beautiful city. Don't forget to visit the famous glico running man and snap pictures with it!
Satisfying Taro Noguchi Ramen in Osaka

Taro Noguchi Ramen
Address - 1-chome Higashi-Shinsaibashi, Chuo-ku, Osaka, Osaka Prefecture
15-23-1F
Ambiance/Facilities - comfortable small dining place
Highlights - clear soup ramen
Avg. Price per Person - $15SGD
Rating - 4/5
Just 5 minutes walk away from Shinsaibashi station, one can find a hot satisfying bowl of ramen at Taro Noguchi Ramen shop. This shop may be small but it has a homely feel and it serves one of the best clear soup ramen that I have eaten.
The highly recommended ramen would be their shellfish broth ramen which comes with slices of Char siew, a fish cake, an egg with springy ramen noodles in a clear sweet umami soup broth. Alternatively, there's also Bonito soy sauce ramen and jiro ramen which were equally good. For starters, I ordered their snack set that includes thick cuts of braised char siew, more eggs and nicely charred gyozas. Their bowls of ramen comes in generous portions and you can even request for more noodles if you're a carbs lover. You can never stop drinking their soup because it's so rich and tasty. English menus are available on request. Enjoy your ramen here if you're in the Shinsaibashi area of Osaka.
Osaka City Center
