£200 for a basic room for one night was a bit on the pricey side for me, however it was nice all the same. A few of the photos of the basic room are misleading. The photos show a four post double bed which is not the case. We found out later this is actually an executive room despite it being labeled basic. We found out that the hotel location is accessible by bus from Oxenholme train station (despite being told the opposite) and has a great view of beautiful fields. Food in the hotel is good but expensive... My eyes nearly popped out their sockets when I saw the £8.00 charge just for the tiniest amount of table bread. I'd say this was probably the reason the restaurant was empty despite being told we need to book a table due to its popularity. Swimming pool and steam room are average for the price. Staff are friendly and changed our room to a double bed room free of charge after mistakenly putting us in a twin bedroom.

1. Location, the hotel is just by the lake, but it is a 30-minute drive from Windermere, and it is far from the Lake District. 2. Some rooms can accommodate an extra bed, 15 pounds a day, including breakfast. 3, the hotel is large and has a lot of parking spaces. 4. The meal is great, classic English. 5, the hotel toiletries are good, is the British Royal Development Supplies MB, the bathroom's heating rack is open in the summer, the towel will be done overnight. Carlisle… a small town that was unexpectedly created by a snowstorm. Although it is not as famous as York or Newcastle, it is definitely a leisure town worth visiting… In addition to the castle and a church destroyed by war, there is also a ”Great Wall”… The people here are particularly warm and friendly because it is not a tourist area… I love everything here!

Although it is not the most beautiful season, it has its own unique style, fresh air and beautiful environment. The morning mist is even more fairy-like, which is very suitable for a relaxing vacation. Although we only stayed for one night, it has added a lot of color to our trip.

The Macdonald Old England Hotel is well situated, being just a stones throw from the lakeside and the shops in Bowness. The staff are friendly and obliging and the service matches their attitude. The breakfasts are fine, although the staff can sometimes be a bit slow in replenishing the tureens. We did not use the Spa, so we cannot comment on that. Overall, we found the hotel to have all the facilities that we were lookling for and we would be happy to stay there again.

It happened to be a wedding when I went there. The lobby was full of enthusiastic and cheerful foreigners. There was a dog on duty at the front desk, and it was very well behaved. If you bring children, you need to pay an additional 30 yuan per dog. This, uh... it would be good without this fee. The free buffet breakfast on the second day was good. After ordering coffee, the waiter brought it. There was self-service milk and drinking water in the corridor. Parking is free, and the parking lot is quite large. Basically, you don’t have to worry about having no place, because even if the wedding was full of people the day before, there are still a few parking spaces. Although it is gloomy, rainy, windy and snowy every day in the UK, we saw the long-lost starry sky here.

I just want to thank the guy last night at the desk for giving me another room without charging me extra. That was very kind of him. Didn’t get his name. had a lovely time for my stay. Very clean 10 out 10 😊

This hotel is great, with beautiful indoor and outdoor environments. You can overlook Lake Windermere from the hotel garden. Bottled drinking water and snacks and candies are provided in the room. It is best to book the hotel's dinner in advance. The hotel will also send an email to remind you whether you need to order food in the hotel before check-in. We ordered food on the spur of the moment and it tasted very good. If the itinerary was not arranged, I really want to stay one more night.

Room was fine but sadly due to the selfish people in the room above me,I didn't get any sleep due to all the noise that carried on right through the early oʻhours of the morning. Staff didn't seem bothered BUT ,Trip were absolutely amazing when I complained to them about the situation. However my room was really nice and clean and the location was great as well as it was a 2 minute walk from the train station

The hotel is placed in excellent location, just across the road from the Windermere Information Centre. If you booked any tour from Mountain Goat, this might be excellent place to stay. Hotel is good, rooms were smaller than expected.
