The room was clean and simple, with a large balcony facing the sea where you could enjoy the sunset from the sofa and gaze at Galle Fortress across the water. There was also a small swimming pool, which wasn't crowded and was quite pleasant. We thought that being located by the sea would allow us to go down to the beach, but no one told us, and we couldn't find the way. It was a waste of such a stunning sea view. The breakfast was average, so overall, the hotel's value for money was only so-so.

The area is popular for hiking and snorkeling, in addition, bike rental and car rental are available at this hotel.

The hotel is located in the heart of Hikkaduwa, but the facilities are quite old. The air conditioning, dehumidifier, and fan were so noisy they gave me a headache. However, the beach environment and the several sea turtles near the shore made up for it! The outdoor area of the hotel had many squirrels and lizards, which the kids loved. Finally, the diving center's instructor was very professional and great. Unfortunately, the coral reef resources at this dive site are scarce, and the water visibility isn't great, so the underwater views were only average.
Hotel prices were high during the New Year's holiday, and there weren't many options. The area around this hotel was quite lively, with bars where you could ring in the New Year. The rooms were reasonably clean, but the facilities were rather old. The breakfast had many choices, but the quality wasn't particularly good.
Our room was conveniently located right by the pool entrance, making swimming incredibly easy! It faced the ocean, but the waves were too rough for swimming, so we could only enjoy walks along the beach. As it was the weekend, the hotel had children's activities and evening shows. The buffet was very generous, and the desserts were delicious. A big thank you to Jayaru who checked us in; they discovered it was my birthday the next day and surprised me with a birthday cake at breakfast.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by wonderfully friendly staff at the reception desk, and our positive impression continued when we saw our room. It was incredibly spacious and spotlessly clean and a perfect space to relax in.
Unfortunately, our enthusiasm dipped when we looked out the window. We had eagerly anticipated the sea view we booked, but found ourselves on the first floor looking directly onto the main path to the restaurant. The lack of both a view and privacy was a real disappointment.
The challenges were compounded by a local festival taking place during our stay. This rendered the beach unusable due to the sheer volume of people. Worse, the road closures made leaving the hotel a logistical headache, leaving us feeling a bit trapped. A final frustration was discovering there were no shops nearby and no convenience store in the hotel itself, so be sure to pack everything you might need.
In summary, while we can't fault the hotel on its cleanliness or the friendliness of its staff, the experience was significantly hampered by the room mix-up and the festival chaos. It wasn’t a bad stay, but it was far from the relaxing getaway we had planned.
Great hotel, great value for money. It is a relatively small five-star hotel. Every room has a bottomless sea view and a beautiful swimming pool, which children like very much. It is very convenient to go out to the beach.
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, we were quickly checked in and greeted with a welcome drink. The reception staff were very friendly, but the rest of the hotel staff were very strange (noisy, shouting, arguing with each other).
Our room was clean and tidy, the room had a large balcony, and
a large refrigerator. The water pressure in the shower was very good. The location of the hotel is also great (across the street from the beach, 5 minutes walk to the grocery store) Stay away from Tuk Tuk Mafia
Absolutely loved this hotel! The natural environment here is fantastic. It's just a 10-15 minute drive from Tissa Lake. I arrived in the morning to the peaceful sounds of crickets and frogs. It was also a full moon that night, which made the scenery even more stunning. The swimming pool is impressively large too. I stayed on the ground floor, which meant I could step right out onto the lawn from my room.
The hotel offers great value for money; the prices are reasonable and the rooms are quite spacious. It's noticeably cheaper than hotels situated closer to Yala National Park.
I highly recommend booking the breakfast and dinner package. There aren't many other dining options nearby, and more importantly, the buffet is absolutely delicious!!! They offer a great variety of Western dishes, incredibly sweet fruits, and even sushi, making it very suitable for the Chinese palate.
For our morning safari, we requested a packed meal from the hotel. It was incredibly generous, including water, various drinks, juice, sandwiches, and cake – truly more than we could finish! Upon our return, breakfast was still ongoing. I explained to a staff member that I was feeling quite hot and asked if I could get a drink. She was very accommodating, assuring me it was absolutely fine, but did clarify that since we had taken a packed breakfast, we wouldn't be able to have another full meal in the dining area.
A very high-quality hotel. The student interns provide excellent, lively service. They arranged everything for us, from snorkeling to a safari tour. It's also within walking distance to the beach, and there are many restaurants nearby. We will definitely come back here again.

We really loved this hotel. The spacious and clean room with a partial ocean view (second line) matches the photos on the website exactly. Daily cleaning, water, tea, and coffee are provided—everything for a comfortable stay. The breakfasts are delicious, although not buffet-style. The hotel's location is simply perfect! It's located at the end of Unawatuna Beach, just a 15-minute walk from the main tourist street. The only liquor store is two minutes away, and Turtle Beach is a 20-minute walk away. But the best part is the beach is right across the street! It's a cozy, quiet bay where the waves crash against the rocks before reaching the shore. Unlike the main beach, where strong currents can sweep you away, here you can safely swim and enjoy the gentle remnants of the waves. I'd especially like to mention the staff—they're smiling, friendly, and very pleasant. Thank you for the warm welcome!
Loved the location, which is within short walking distance to the Galle lighthouse. But what I loved the most was the modern interiors of this Art Deco building . Our room was well designed and clean, complete with a bathtub and lovely marble finishing. I personally felt that the bed was one of the most comfortable I experienced during my week in Sri Lanka. I also enjoyed the sunset views from the rooftop bar and the pool, even though a little small was great for cooling down after exploring the old town on foot. My only comment would be that the shower amenities weren't in a good place, could easily slip during shower time. Breakfast had an option of either local fare (to be prebooked) and western fare which was tasty. Definitely one of the highlights of our stay in Sri Lanka.
Minimalistic hotel rooms well located off Silent Beach in Tangalle. Nice communal pool and a small amount of rooms makes the villa quite tranquil and never busy. The staff are wonderful and the chef cooks delicious food which is all very reasonably priced. I just recommend you stay away from beef in this country as it’s quite inedible, this seems a common theme whether you’re buying a cheap burger or an expensive beef dish. The only detractions to the accomodation was a foul odour emanating from the shower in the mornings, but it did dissipate thereafter. Also I find there is little point of an in-room safe if it isn’t bolted to the ground. You can literally walk in and pick the safe up and exit the room making it redundant. Rooms are well appointed and well priced for the area given the two luxury alternatives are the Amanwella resort which is quite dated and much more expensive and the Anantara Peace Haven which is more expensive but also a fantastic product. The local beach here is beautiful. I would stay here again, but I expect rooms will be hard to come by as the country lacks 5 star resorts at this time. I would stay here again no doubt and recommend the property.
