"⭐ Comfortable One-Night Stay in Berau
We stayed at Mercure Berau for one night after returning from our diving trip in Maratua. After spending several days around the islands, it was great to have a comfortable hotel where we could rest and recharge before continuing our journey home.
The room was clean, comfortable and spacious enough for a short stay. We especially appreciated having a proper hot shower and a comfortable bed after the diving trip. The hotel also made it easy for us to reorganise our luggage and get everything ready for our flights the following day.
We only had a short time in Berau, but the stay was smooth and relaxing. It’s a convenient option for travellers using Berau as the gateway to Maratua, Derawan and the surrounding islands.
A good place to spend the night before heading to the airport and flying back to Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. Would stay here again for another Maratua diving trip! 🤿🌊✈️"

Although it’s located just above the Big Mall, the hotel has poor accessibility, especially for pedestrians and online food couriers because they have to go through the car ramp to get into the hotel’s front door!
The room is modern, clean, and have great amenities. But, the noise from outside the room could be heard easily since it has poor soundproofing.
When i checked in, it took more than one hour since i have to lined up into the queue and the process itself took a long time. It was the longest time i spend for check in! The queue is only five person in front of me and they opened all the check in counters."

Guest UserCheck in and check out was seamless. Breakfast was bit hectic with nobody show us where to seat so we had to wander around. The variety of breakfast was OK, their tempe goreng surprisingly was the best in my pov. Room was basic, small bed compared to other hotels with the same price, no in-room minibar.

Great location for business trips, very strategic and easy to access. The room was clean and comfortable, perfect for resting after meetings. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Amenities were sufficient and everything worked well. Overall, a pleasant and convenient stay for business travelers. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Facilities provided are all there, nothing to pick on. Especially love the gym location.
the breakfast is great, love the coffee and tea brew in the 'sock'. Good selections.
Staffs in front desk to fnb, etc are polite and kind.
Room is of decent size, basic for the price paid. It is clean in general. The toilet needs serious renovation. Taps, showers are OLD, accumulated rust, layers of molds at back of sink. The shower walls are all dirty between grout lines. It is clearly years of accumulated dirt and moisture that cannot be removed anymore. It needs serious revamp. I should have taken pictures of the shower, afraid I didn't think of it.

This is my second time staying here, and once again, I had a pleasant experience. The room and bathroom were clean, and the facilities were excellent. The breakfast offered a good variety of food, though I hope to see improvements in flavor in the future. Additionally, I noticed that some of the beds are a bit worn and no longer as firm as they should be—hopefully, this can be addressed. Overall, it's still a great place to stay

Guest UserMy staycation with my partner at Swissbell was very enjoyable. I booked the lowest room category, but the service from the receptionist was still top-notch. Upon arrival, there were fruits and other light snacks in the room. Additionally, our special requests were also handled well; I asked to switch breakfast to the suhoor menu, and it was delivered by the room service staff. Thank you, Swissbell! Sorry for not including photos in this review; I was too busy enjoying the staycation.
