"Staying in hotels in the UK, especially during summer, it's a real gamble whether you'll get decent air conditioning and a working elevator. On this trip, I've stayed at numerous hotels, various brands – all chosen for their good value for money, naturally! Our first stop, the Kensington Palace Hotel, initially gave us a room with problems, and the following day, our new room lacked air conditioning. Then at the Holiday Inn Cambridge, the lobby felt really impressive, but to my surprise, the AC was broken. The room was stuffy and hot, so we had to escape to the lobby for a beer. Luckily, London nights were quite cool, even getting a bit chilly in the early hours. It wasn't until we arrived at the Cotswolds Hotel & Spa. Although it also lacked AC, it had a balcony. We could just leave the door open, and since UK temperatures aren't actually that high, the room stayed cool, especially with the balcony door open to let in the breeze! And while there wasn't a regular elevator, there was a mobility lift that went up to the second floor. Unfortunately, we were on the third, so we still had to climb. Despite these minor quirks, this hotel was by far our favorite on the trip. The room was incredibly spacious, featuring a large bed, a smaller bed, and even a sofa bed. The balcony overlooked a lovely green expanse. Our family spent time on the balcony playing cards, so much so that we almost didn't want to go out sightseeing! I also want to give a big shout-out to Trip.com. Their service was truly exceptional throughout my journey. I lost count of how many times I called them, and without fail, they resolved every single one of my issues. Definitely a huge thumbs up! 👍👍👍"

"Everything was okay with the facilities. The terrible downside was the disgusting view outside the window. When I went back to the front desk to ask for a room change, without even looking at the computer screen, they immediately told me they were fully fully booked. When brushing my teeth and washing my face, looking at such a scene, I got the illusion that I was getting dirtier and dirtier. Totally unacceptable. There was also liquid left in the kettle, clearly not cleaned."

"I recently stayed at this budget-friendly hotel in Oxford and had a pleasant experience overall. The room was very clean, including the ensuite bathroom, which was well maintained. The staff were polite and friendly, which made the stay more comfortable. The hotel is located about a 45-minute walk from the main city centre, but the route is straight and not hilly, so it’s manageable. The location itself was fine, with good bus connectivity making it easy to get around. There are several supermarkets nearby, including Tesco and Sainsbury’s superstores, as well as a few cafes and restaurants in the area. The hotel does not have its own restaurant or food service, but there is a vending machine offering coffee and some light snacks. Overall, it’s a good option for a clean, affordable stay in Oxford, especially if you don’t mind being a bit outside the city centre."

"Booked for two nights while visiting Oxford, Woodstock and Blenheim Palace. The accommodation and location fitted the bill perfectly. Although out of Oxford we had good good routes to all our destinations and the Park and Rides were beneficial. Accommodation as expected - good standard. Dined there one evening - food good and well presented. All staff we encountered were: pleasant, friendly and helpful. Recommended - would book again."

"Nestled in the suburbs, the hotel offers a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere, truly feeling like a tranquil escape. We really appreciated having a Chinese-speaking staff member at the front desk, which made us feel incredibly welcome. The bed in our room felt like two twin beds joined together, and it was certainly spacious enough. The sofa in the room can be converted into a sofa bed (just a heads-up: not all rooms have these, so be sure to confirm upon check-in)."

"Hairs were found on the bed, indicating the room wasn't cleaned properly. The staff were very cold and unhelpful. There was no drinking water in the room, and when I went to buy some at the front desk, they refused cash, charging an exorbitant £2.50 per bottle. The bathroom layout was awkward, easy to bump into things, and the toilet flushing was poor. Soundproofing was terrible. It's also not that close to Bicester Village, requiring a walk of over 20 minutes. Walking back at night after shopping, a section of the road had no streetlights, which was quite frightening."

GGuest Userlove this Hotel stayed many times . just a few issues on this visit that didn’t quite get the excellent for me  The aircon on the room wasn’t working I phoned the desk and was told it’s on Heating mode only turn it off and start it again we did but the guy on the desk was unhelpful. also the breakfast was a little lacking this visit we went down at 9.20 and most of the rolls muffins and pastries had gone no bagels and the eggs fried were hard normally there is a menu where you can choose fresh eggs etc but as they had a corporate event on that was not operating so despite a heft y price for the breakfast we didn’t get a very good one . Other than that the service from all staff i. bar ,Reception especially Telma and Phil was excellent

GGuest UserWe have stayed here twice. The first time (2025) we were in the block which is separate to the main building- this was OK and the service was much better. The latest time we stayed we were in the main building- its grotty. The carpet leading to the rooms was stained and the room itself although it looked clean, didn't 'feel clean'-the place could do with a refresh and new carpets. We were unable to get food upon arrival as they stop serving at 9pm- we arrived a couloe of minutes before 9pm after a 4 hour drive, we were disappointe and we could see a couple eating in the bar area whose meals came out long after we had arrived- so really we could have ordered and been served. We ended up ordering an Uber eats meal.
