We had high expectations for this iconic YTL property, but sadly it fell short. While the colonial charm and beautiful surroundings are undeniable, the overall experience didn’t match the premium price. Service was inconsistent throughout our stay. Some staff were warm and attentive, while others seemed indifferent, making the experience feel uneven. For a luxury hotel, we expected much more attention to detail. The property itself is elegant, but parts of it are showing their age and could benefit from refurbishment. Although the atmosphere is peaceful, it wasn’t enough to make up for the service shortcomings. Food also not to expectation .Nasi lemak , the rice is undercooked. Coffee is inconsistent . First Serve was good . Second pot was burnt . Their high tea, sandwiches we stale . Only admirable was their scone with clotted cream & strawberry jam were excellent . Overall, it wasn’t the memorable luxury escape we had hoped for. There are certainly positives, but considering the price, we left feeling disappointed rather than impressed.

I really liked this place. Its very private and secluded, and there weren’t many guests during our stay so it felt like we had the beach to ourselves. Breakfast was peaceful and we also tried the room service, the food was surprisingly good. However for a private resort at this price point, I expected a better overall experience and more attention to detail. I checked in on my birthday, and while I wasn’t expecting anything extravagant, I had hoped for at least a simple birthday greeting during check-in. Unfortunately, there was no acknowledgment at all, which was a little disappointing. The biggest issue was the room condition. The floor was extremely wet and slippery and the walls felt damp. At first I thought the floor had just been mopped but after a few hours the problem became even worse. We had to call housekeeping twice to mop the floor and a technician came to inspect it. We were told it was caused by the air conditioner. Eventually, we gave up and asked for extra towels to place on the floor to prevent anyone from slipping, as shown in the photos. The toilet seat was also dirty and should have been replaced. What disappointed me most was the lack of follow-up. During check-out no one apologized for the inconvenience even though we had reported the issue twice. No one asked whether the problem had been resolved or if our stay had been affected. Overall, the resort offers excellent privacy, beautiful views, and a peaceful atmosphere. Unfortunately, the room condition and the lack of customer service overshadowed what should have been a memorable birthday stay. Considering the price we paid, I expected much better attention to both maintenance and guest experience.

Had an enjoyable stay at 1001 Hotel overall. One of the biggest highlights is its location. It’s situated away from the busy ****** crowds, making it a peaceful retreat while still offering easy access to the attractions. The view is absolutely stunning—waking up to a sea of clouds was truly unforgettable and one of the best parts of the stay. That said, there are a few areas that could be improved. The check-in process was slower than expected (only one staff) and the front desk staff could communicate more clearly and proactively with guests. Better coordination and customer service during check-in would create a much better first impression. Another downside is the limited food options within or near the hotel. While this may not be an issue for short stays, having more dining choices would greatly enhance the overall guest experience. Overall, if you’re looking for a quiet place to relax with spectacular mountain and cloud views, 1001 is a great choice. With improvements to the check-in experience and more food options, it would be an even better destination.

Room wise, it was surprisingly a good stay. Although the facilities are a bit outdated, the bed and toilets are all tidy and clean. The hotel counter are helpful with queries and requests. However, maybe we visited on weekdays, so there were not many events or activities during the evenings, making it really quiet. Food choices were somewhat limited as well. Overall, the cool weather and peaceful surroundings made it a decent place to visit.

Check-in was smooth, and we even got a room upgrade, which made for a very pleasant stay. The kids absolutely loved the pool. With Starbucks, McDonald's, KFC, and FamilyMart all close by, it's perfect for a bit of luxury on a budget trip. Plus, being just a 15-minute drive from beachfront restaurants and a batik factory meant there was plenty to enjoy beyond the beach.

This was my first time vacationing here, and overall I’m extremely satisfied with the experience. The staff were very polite, warm, and sincere, providing attentive and thoughtful service throughout our stay. The unique beachfront scenery is even more stunning than in the photos. The food was above average, and we ended up having all our meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—at the hotel during our stay. We also tried the massage therapy, and I have to say the environment was absolutely amazing—listening to the sound of the waves while enjoying professional massage techniques was a five-star experience. We also went on a Jungle Trial. There are a few spots where clearer directional signage could be added. As a small suggestion for the hotel, you might consider setting up a small shop selling souvenirs, postcards and snacks. Guests can truly relax and spend a leisurely time within the hotel without needing to go anywhere. I would definitely come back again.

Spacious and clean, equipped with a TV, air conditioning, fridge, iron, and hairdryer. The 44th floor boasts a beautiful rooftop with a pool, sauna, and glass room, all available for free use. The staff provided excellent service, responding and bringing supplies even in the early hours of the morning. However, the WiFi was very poor and almost unusable. No disposable toiletries like toothbrushes, slippers, or bottled water were provided. The location is a bit far from the cable car station (RM15-17 by Grab) and even further from the mountain top (RM25+ by Grab).

Overall it it very good to stay Berjaya Tioman Resort. We got free transfer from jetty to resort. All the stuff are friendly. Only the pool's towel is not enough to be used when we need more. Told by the stuff that they haven't received from their laundry department on the morning. Was wondering this was not coordinate well for such a high standard resort? Management have to look into it to avoid any disappointment from other visitors.

Service was exceptional. The concierge, front office, housekeeping and f&b personnel were absolutely great! They were attentive and had great mannerisms! The hotel was also located within lush greenery which is really calming and serene. But I would have reservations for the interiors. It is a very very dated hotel as it felt like the interior is still stuck in the 1980-1990s. Only 1 of 2 hotels on Berjaya Hills - either Colmar Tropicale/ Chateau so there isn’t many options if this is not to your liking. The facilities were also not as well maintained as expected and the whole place just lacked vibes and atmosphere. The bathroom was also slippery and there was a lack of towels! Felt that the place has so much wasted potential. Colmar Tropicale and Japanese Village felt so tired looking - a much needed rejuvenation would really boost the place.
