    Not something special

Daikouji is a small temple, which islocated on Otesuji shopping street. If you don't pay attention, you maybe pass by. For tourists, there is nothing special to see.

A temple of the Jodo sect in Otesuji shopping street

    Original Text

Walk west of the shopping arcade on foot from Keihan and Kintetsu "Momoyama" station for about 5. The frontage is narrow, but the precincts are relatively large and quiet with the main hall and Yakushido. In front of the mountain gate, there was also a monument called the site of the residence of Aoyama Hoki, the governor of Tokugawa Iemitsu.

In the middle of the Otesuji shopping street!

To that extent, go to "Fujisawayama Daikoji"! Daikoji was founded as "Daikomitsuji" in 1260. In the Edo period, fairs were held in the precincts, and it seems that Kyoto sumo box offices were also held in the Meiji period. It is a temple that has been deeply involved in the history of Fushimi and has inherited the teachings of the sect founder Honen Shonin for 800 years without being damaged. It seems that there was Aoyama Hoki no Kami residence, which played the role of amulet of Iemitsu Tokugawa, and there is a stone monument in front of the gate.

    It is a quiet temple.

    Original Text

On the way from Keihan Fushimi Momoyama Station to Teradaya, I paid attention to the stone monument called Aoyama Hoki Moriyashiki, the amulet of Tokugawa Iemitsu in front of the gate. Hokimori Aoyama himself was born in 1578, so when this is the site of the mansion, it will be a short period of the time of the Naifu Ieyasu Tokugawa era. If this area is called Hoki-cho, if it became the place name of the current Tokyo Aoyama from the site of his father Tadanari Aoyama's mansion, he left the name in the place name for two generations.

    Fushimi Taoshan

    Original Text

A temple located about a 10-minute walk from Keihan Fushimi-Momoyama Station. Fujisawayama Daikoji Temple was founded by Kuzobo Kankaijin, the sixth grandson of the Jodo sect, Honen Shonin, during the Kamakura period. It faces the shopping street with a small frontage.
