普明塔院

Traveling to Suzhou, I came to Hanshan Temple to visit. Puming Pagoda is one of the parts of Hanshan Temple. Puming Pagoda is "a temple sign". It is the theme building of the Pagoda and the highest point of Hanshan Temple. It is easy to see a pagoda in front of Hanshan Temple. That is, the Puming Tower. Hanshan Temple, formerly known as "Miao Li Puming Tower Courtyard", was originally a place to worship the spiritual bones of the ancestors, the tower was destroyed and later rebuilt.

20230702 Morning: 1. "Puming Pagoda" is located in the "Hanshan Temple" in the scenic spot of 4A. Hanshan Temple is the famous temple in the western suburbs of Suzhou on the banks of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. It was built in the Southern Dynasty during the Xiaoliang Tianjian Year (502-519). It was founded by the Hanshan monk, one of the "Hehe 2 Holys". It was once one of the "Ten famous temples" in China. Afterwards, it was due to the famous poem "Fengqiao Night Po" by Zhang Ji, a poet in Tang Tianbao years. "Gusu City outside Hanshan Temple, the bell to the passenger ship in the middle of the night" is famous in the world, the incense is extremely strong, and there are famous footprints such as Zhu Yuanxu, Yue Fei, Tang Yu, Wen Zhengming, Wang Shiqi, Lin Zexu, Dong Qichang, Kang Youwei and other famous people in history. There is a temple landmark "Puming Pagoda" in the courtyard, which is the commanding height of the whole temple. The initial name of Hanshan Temple is named after this tower. The tower is 5 floors of Tang style, only one floor is open, and the center has 4 Buddha statues facing the surroundings. Outside the tower is surrounded by pools, and the koi in the pool is in a group. The table is a great location for feeding fish, and you can experience the happiness of being surrounded by colorful salmon. On the west side, a modern-built wall is built, and the history of the tower is recorded after the wall. On the north side is the circulation place of French objects; on the south side is the south gate exit. Several times of the tower's rise and fall are specific: ① Tang Wuzong "Huichang Destroyed Buddha" movement before and after the five generations of the ten-nation period (907-979) was destroyed during the war, until the Northern Song Dynasty Taiping Xingguo Year (976-983), Taining Festival made Sun Chengxu rebuild the 7-story pagoda. ② When Jin Yan invaded Suzhou in the Southern Song Dynasty for four years (1130), the tower was destroyed by the Southern Song Dynasty soldiers, until Shaoxing four years (1134) monks relocated and rebuilt, which took 3 years. ③ At the end of the Yuan Dynasty (about 1366), when Xu Da, the founder of the Ming Dynasty, led the troops to attack another force, Zhang Shicheng, the temple and the tower were destroyed, and then it was not rebuilt for more than 600 years, until the reconstruction began with government support in 1993, which took nearly tens of millions of dollars for three years.

Hanshan Temple is located in Gusu District, Suzhou City, built in the southern dynasty of Xiaoliang Dynasty during the Tianjian Dynasty. Tang Dynasty poet Zhang Ji wrote a poem "Hanshan Temple outside Gusu City, the bell to the passenger ship in the middle of the night" when he passed through Hanshan Temple. Most of the temples in Hanshan are Qing Dynasty buildings, mainly with the Daxiong Palace, Tibetan Jinglou, Bell Tower, Stele Gallery.

普明塔院在寒山寺山门内，藏经殿后。寒山寺始建名“妙利普明塔院”，普明宝塔为其标志。佛寺多次遭遇火灾，宝塔亦曾三毁。然历代僧众及信徒建塔之志不灭。1991年，经性空和尚首举倡议及多方奔走，复建宝塔终得批准，并于次年奠基，1995年12月竣工。自此。一座唐风宝塔巍然屹立，古韵佛威，普渡众生。

寒山寺是苏州最著名的古迹，和姑苏城一样享有盛誉，历史悠久。寒山寺最初不叫寒山寺，名为“妙利普明塔院”，说到寒山寺的石碑，名气最大的当然是历代文人墨客书写的《枫桥夜泊》诗碑，张继这首诗一出，寒山寺的游客接踵而至，摇身一变跻身我国“古代十大名寺”之列。
