· The weather's getting hotter and hotter lately, and I want to go out but I'm afraid of the heat. I often get asked where to go in the summer without traveling far, avoiding crowds, and enjoying a cool and relaxing place with the kids. 🌳 Compared to visiting many tourist spots, I prefer this place—Chaohu. As a small city near Hefei in the Yangtze River Delta region, Chaohu offers a tranquil escape without having to travel far to experience the vibrant life of a small town. 🔥 It's a place to spend your vacation in the lush forest at 18°C. 🌳 Enjoy a comfortable summer with cold springs, delicious food, and therapeutic experiences. And in Chaohu, I found a place perfect for the whole family: 📍Chaohu Shenye Hot Spring Holiday Resort Hotel. Summer here is truly "melting." 🌿 ✅️Cold Mist and Cold Springs 💦 Natural cold springs + forest mist—once you soak in the pools, you won't want to leave. It's like being in a fairy tale. There are many cold spring pools, including a children's wading pool, so you don't have to worry about your kids getting sick from playing in the water in the summer! ✅️Forest Healing Embrace nature in the heart of the landscape. Spend a leisurely afternoon experiencing incense burning, tea ceremony, and singing bowl practice – time itself seems filtered through a purifying lens. Waking up early to practice Baduanjin (Eight Pieces of Brocade) outdoors further enhances the experience, allowing tranquility to radiate from within. 💡 ✅️Morning World Cup + Sunset Party Watch the World Cup on the lawn in the morning, and as the sun sets, the lawn transforms into a party venue. Lobster 🦞, beer 🍺, barbecue 🍢 – the epitome of summer rituals! ✅️Villas Ideal for Families For larger families, consider staying in a villa nestled in the forest. Enjoy a private hot spring bath and rooms with a distinctly forest feel – your dream home in the mountains. 🏠 ✅️Culinary Adventure Savor the unique fish and seafood of Chaohu Lake, enjoy authentic lakeside delicacies, and experience a fusion breakfast of Chinese and Western styles. 🍛🌭 · Oh, and by the way! The Cold Spring Festival is about to open here (June 27-28)! There will be live band performances, cold food and drinks, a sunset party, and many other special activities! 💡Travel Tips: 📍Address: Chaohu Shenye Hot Spring Holiday Resort Hotel 🚄Self-driving: Take the high-speed rail directly to Chaohu Station or Chaohu East Station, then take a taxi! 🚗Driving: You can navigate directly here! 🚩Friendly Reminder: Beware of mosquitoes in the summer!

Eight Hundred Li of Chaohu Lake, an Island Hiding the Seasons: A Slow-Time Travelogue of Laoshan Island If Chaohu Lake is a huge jade mirror, then Laoshan Island is a green conch quietly resting in the heart of the lake. I had long heard that this place is the "Number One Scenic Spot of Lake and Sky." Taking advantage of the gentle early summer breeze, I drove to Zhongmiao Pier for a date with this lake oasis. 1. Breaking the Waves: From the Pier to "Little Penglai" Arriving at Zhongmiao Pier, the distant lake surface was vast and misty. After purchasing a ticket package (including round-trip boat tickets), I chose the speedboat—the engine roared as the bow cut through the azure lake water, and the cool breeze carrying the fresh scent of aquatic plants hit my face, instantly washing away the city's heat. About 15 minutes later, the outline of Laoshan Island appeared: three mountains and nine peaks, lush forests, and the iconic Wenfeng Tower standing tall, truly giving the illusion of a "Penglai fairyland." 2. Climbing High: Wenfeng Tower and the Eight Hundred Li of Chaohu Lake After landing, I didn’t rush to take the sightseeing bus but strolled up the stone steps. Towering black pines and rustling bamboo leaves on both sides seemed to whisper stories thousands of years old. Reaching the summit, there stood Wenfeng Tower. This seven-story octagonal ancient tower was first built in the fourth year of the Ming Chongzhen era and later continued by Li Hongzhang. The tower is 51 meters tall with 135 steps inside. Climbing step by step, the tower walls are embedded with 802 brick-carved Buddha statues, each with a unique expression. When I finally reached the top, all fatigue was worth it—the entire eight hundred li of Chaohu Lake stretched before my eyes! The water and sky merged into one color, sailboats dotted the surface, and the distant Gushan and Xieshan appeared faintly, truly embodying the saying, "Only when you reach the top do you realize how small the world is; a glance reveals the vast waves of Chaohu." The wind rang the tower bells with a clear and pleasant sound, as if I could converse with the ancients at that moment. 3. Fireworks of Life: The Thousand-Year Fishing Village and Shengfei Temple Descending the mountain, I turned into the Laoshan Fishing Village on the southeast side of the island. There was no excessive commercial packaging here, only white-walled houses with black tiles, drying fishing nets, and the fragrant smell of firewood. At the village entrance stood an ancient well, whose water remains clear and sweet, nourishing dozens of island households. Walking on the bluestone path, time seemed to slow down; occasionally, I saw elders sitting at their doorsteps picking vegetables, cats and dogs napping leisurely, full of the original rustic charm. Adjacent to the fishing village is Shengfei Temple (now Huazang Jing Temple), built during the Western Jin Dynasty over 1,800 years ago, dedicated to the lake goddess Jiao Lao. She is the Jiao mother who sacrificed herself to save others in the "Trap of Chaozhou" legend. Locals also call the lake "Jiao Lake." Two ancient pagoda trees tower in front of the temple, and the inscription on the lintel, "Do not seek outside," is quite thought-provoking. 4. Taste: The Gift of Chaohu’s Three Fresh Delicacies For lunch, I chose a lakeside farmhouse. The must-try "Three Fresh Delicacies of Chaohu" included silverfish steamed egg, silky and tender like tofu, with boneless silverfish that tasted sweet; white shrimp, small but firm in texture, best boiled in saltwater for freshness; and a pot of mixed fish potstickers, with tender fish meat and dough soaked in broth. A sip of the fresh soup was the lake’s most direct gift. 5. Finale: A Reluctant Glance Back After the meal, I strolled along the island’s circular trail. The boardwalk wound through pines and bamboo, with lush green mountains on one side and shimmering lake water on the other. Passing by Nantang Ancient Harbor, a shelter left by the Yuan Dynasty navy at the end of the Yuan era, now overgrown with reeds, it carries a somewhat desolate historical feeling. On the return boat, looking back at Laoshan Island, it once again resembled a green conch floating on the lake. This island is not large; you can explore it fully in two to three hours on foot, but it holds millennia of legends, centuries-old towers, the rustic life of fishermen, and the vast Chaohu waters that open your heart. If you want to temporarily escape the fast pace of the city, consider coming to Laoshan Island, giving time back to nature and your soul to the lake.

Laoshan Island is a small island in Chaohu Lake, the fifth largest freshwater lake in my country. You can take a cruise to the island and explore the surrounding area. After disembarking, turn left onto a flat lakeside path where you can enjoy the scenery of Chaohu Lake. There are several spots to take photos and play in the water. Turn right onto a hiking trail where you can barely see the lake. You can also find restaurants in the small fishing village on the island.
M34***87This is my second time here. There are many hot spring pools, making it suitable for family trips. There is a rest area and light meals on the second floor. It starts at 10 am on weekends and holidays, and at 2 pm on weekdays. Soaking during the day is good for taking photos, while you can enjoy a private space at night. The hot spring water has various therapeutic effects on the body, and it feels very comfortable to take a bath after soaking. It's a great holiday experience.
泡芙小妹妹Ziwei Cave is worth a visit. The cave is large, with stalactites, cool inside, and an underground river. It is very comfortable to take a boat tour. There are also many unique mountain features, which I recommend everyone to visit.
巧子仙子It's quite nice, the scenery is beautiful, the sky is clear, the air is fresh, the wind is gentle, looking up at the vastness of the universe, looking down at the abundance of species, so you can enjoy the sight and feel the entertainment, which is really enjoyable. The ladies live together for a lifetime, some take it from their hearts, understand the words in a room. Some rely on their trust and let go of their bodies. Although their interests are different, and their calmness and restlessness are different, when they are happy with what they encounter, they get what they want temporarily, and they are happy and content, not knowing that old age is coming. When they are tired of what they are doing,
M32***62The scenic spot is free, and there are many teahouses along the roadside where you can sit, drink tea, chat, and enjoy the lake view.
M49***48Zhongmiao, also known as Shengmu Temple and Zhongmiao, is 48 kilometers away from Chaohu City. In ancient times, it was called "Zhongmiao" because it was located between Chaozhou and Luzhou. It is known as "the best scenic spot in the lake and sky". Due to its strong incense in successive dynasties, it is known as "Jiuhua in the south and Zhongmiao in the north". Zhongmiao was first built in the second year of Chiwu in the Eastern Wu Dynasty and has been abandoned and rebuilt many times in successive dynasties. The temple was rebuilt in the first year of Longji in the Later Tang Dynasty, "the mandarin duck tiles are mixed with the air, and the beauty is extremely beautiful". It was rebuilt again in the second year of Baoda in the Southern Tang Dynasty, with a total of 6 rows and 24 rooms. The statue of Taimu with "red face and peach red eyebrows" "stands in the treasure room and is located in the incense altar". In the Yuan Dynasty, the temple base was arched into a bridge, called "Aobei Cave", and a temple was built on the cave. In the Qing Dynasty, the temple had "a distinguished pavilion, a worship hall, a pavilion, and a terrace". In the 15th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu, Li Hongzhang initiated the reconstruction of the temple. It was divided into three halls, the front, middle and back, with more than 70 rooms. The back hall has a three-story scripture pavilion with windows on eight sides, flying eaves on the four corners, and bells on every corner.
社会颜色It's quite good. It's a very large wetland park. It's also very beautiful. It's suitable for strolling here. There are not many people. The wind by the lake is very comfortable. There are many colors of trees and the wetland area is quite large.
第二号爱人My second visit to West Lake was great; the boat tour was excellent. The dock was easy to find, the staff were very friendly, provided clear explanations, and helped with any issues. There were also sightseeing buses, which were nice but a bit pricey. Taking the boat tour and then walking around was both perfectly fine.
