The National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto

The museum floor is easy to manipulate. Brochures and labels are in English. The architecture and location are superb, with views of the mountains around the city. There are comfortable lounges on the ground floor and top floors to see the view. The museum coffee shop overlooks the picturesque Wuhu Canal. Unlike the National Museum, which has a sensational exhibition this month that attracts many visitors, the modern gallery feels very quiet

The Art Museum is not far from the Dete Station, near the Temple of Peace. It is about five minutes'walk from the subway station. There are many old Japanese houses around. The exhibits are paintings of different periods in Japan. They are very interesting.
