Do you know there is like an aqaurium world in Tokyo located in Sumida City right beside the Oshiage Station. Although this isn't the largest aquarium found in Japan but it has the largest indoor aquarium which is hole to penguins, seals, and many other species of sea animals here. You will also be able to spot several sea creatures like the sea cockroach, sea spider and many other fascinating sea creatures that you seldom see in other aqauriums where I've also been told that it's special to Japan waters only. Each and all aquariums were amazingly designed and decorated. There was a section for jelly fish and the lighting effect made the whole area so magical. You can see jelly fish dancing gracefully in the tanks with changing colours. There are some unique sea creatures like Spotted Garden Eel “Heteroconger hassi” that live on sandy bottoms, they look so cute! Other than that, I was amazed by the open living area of little penguins. Visitors can get so close to them, basically the penguins just like swimming in front of you. Same for fur seals. I also like the Japanese goldfish exhibition section, artistic and incorporated Japanese art, now I understand why goldfish remain a central element in popular culture and art in modern Japan. There is a café serving drinks and some light food. I ordered the seasonal blue ocean-like cocktail, it tasted good and was beautiful. The colour blended so well with the aquarium. 👍Sumida Aquarium, located in Sumida Ward, Tokyo, is an urban aquarium hidden within the fifth and sixth floors of the Tokyo Skytree. 🌟The Sumida Aquarium features penguins, jellyfish, goldfish, and garden eels. It exhibits about 400 species of creatures, attracting families with children from Tokyo, and also serves as a relaxing spot for nearby office workers after work. ❤It has Japan's largest open tank where you can get up close and interact with sea lions and other marine life, and boasts a dreamy large jellyfish tank called 'big schale' with about 500 jellyfish. Sumida Aquarium is an incredible aquatic wonderland located in Tokyo, Japan that is definitely worth visiting. The aquarium offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore the beauty and diversity of marine life from around the world.

Went to the aquarium on a whim as we were stuck indoors due to the rain. The place is not too big or small (spent about 2 - 3 hours there), was well maintained, and staff were kind. Had a good variety of creatures on display. The jelly fish exhibit was gorgeous and very interesting! Tickets cost 2300 Yen for adults. Good place to spend some time. Easy to get to, just beside Tokyo Skytree. The nearby mall Tokyo Solamachi also had many interesting shops and delicious food! #japan #tokyo
