I've been to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda twice, the first time was just to check in and watch the uninteresting musical fountain. This time I brought my elders to 'check in' for the first time, and we watched the uninteresting fountain again. Actually, I wanted to go inside the temple, but the timing wasn't right. You can go to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in the afternoon, then spend over an hour getting dressed up and styled, and when the lights come on at night, you can head to Datang Everbright City. The musical fountain at seven o'clock is in the North Square, after watching the fountain head to the South Square, and on the way from north to south, you'll see the glowing poetry. There's a spot in the South Square where you can take photos of the glowing Xuanzang statue and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda together, or you can skip the fountain and go directly to the South Square to find a spot, because there will be a lot of people taking photos after the lights are on. There are signs all the way, just follow them, cross the road from the South Square, and you'll arrive at Datang Everbright City - a well-made themed pedestrian street, with a main stage on the main road and food and fun on both sides. The distance between stages and the scheduling of showtimes are very reasonable. At a normal walking pace, you can finish watching one show and move on, and by the time you get there, you can wait for the next show to start. It's unlikely to see all the shows, but you can catch a part of them. The show schedule is available on the official WeChat account, but I think it's better to go with the flow.
