YtiongRecently returned from a 4D3N stay in Penang.
Check-in was quick and efficient, with a RM200 deposit required upon arrival. The lobby is relatively small and always bustling with guests coming and going. There is a convenience store located on the ground floor, and a popular Japanese restaurant just outside where people are constantly queuing, giving the hotel a lively atmosphere.
The hotel offers valet service. However, the personnel stationed at the main entrance were unable to assist with even basic questions regarding directions and nearby places, which was disappointing.
Reception was consistently busy throughout our stay. While service was efficient, the team appeared overwhelmed at times, resulting in little interaction or welcoming hospitality.
Rooms are located up to Level 35, while the gym and pool are on Level 36. The gym is surprisingly well-equipped and was one of the highlights of the stay. With the large number of rooms in the building and only four elevators in operation, waiting times can be quite long, especially during peak periods such as check-in, check-out, and evenings.
Security was one area that concerned me. Access to guest floors requires a room key card, but I noticed there were no CCTV cameras inside the elevators, along the guest room corridors, or in the stairwells. Personally, this affected my sense of security.
The room itself was spacious and offered a beautiful sea view, which I thoroughly enjoyed. There was also a filtered water dispenser in the room, a feature I appreciated. Basic amenities were provided.
On the downside, the water pressure in the bathroom remained weak throughout my stay, and there was a constant sewage smell coming from the bathroom. The room also did not have a telephone or safe deposit box. To contact reception, guests need to communicate via WhatsApp. There is also no room service available, though this did not affect me personally.
Check-out was effortless. I simply returned the room keys and left for my morning flight without any room inspection delays.
Would I visit Penang again? Absolutely.
Would I stay at this hotel again? Probably not. While the room size, view, and facilities were good, the security concerns and bathroom issues would likely lead me to explore other accommodation options on my next visit.

Anonymous UserStayed for the 2nd time. Overall the location of the hotel is a strong advantage. So convenient walking distance to a variety of food options from mamak, nasi bryani, western food to pastry & coffee cafe.
Basic toiletries only bottled body wash & shampoo provided.
3D2N stay but no room cleaning service provided eventho ‘please clean room’ sign was displayed. Was disappointing because our 1st stay at this hotel also no room cleaning service provided.

The route to the hotel is a bit strange, but overall it looks good. But check the accommodation before coming.

Hui Mun Lee✅ Pros📍 Excellent location – food, cafés, and convenience stores are within walking distance.🛏️ Spacious room – comfortable for 4 adults.📺 Well-equipped with a fridge, microwave, TV, and basic amenities.🚿 Large bathroom.
❌ Cons📲 No check-in instructions from operator were sent in advance; I had to contact the airbnb operator myself.. 🛗 Only 4 elevators, and waiting time can be long.⚠️ Floor was quite slippery.🧺 Towels looked old and slightly stained.
🚘 Parking Tips, register at the lobby, submit your car plate number, and collect your access card to enjoy the RM9 flat-rate parking fee.

Renee621The location is pretty good. There are many 7-Elevens downstairs, and a night market is just a 10-minute walk away. We also found Emperor Durian about 15 minutes away and enjoyed durian for two days – it was fantastic! There's also a souvenir shop right across the street.

忙旅偷閒Regarding the location, you'll need to call a Grab for everything. It's so hot that walking to the nearest restaurant for breakfast in the morning takes over ten minutes, and by the time you get there, you're already drenched in sweat. We knew this beforehand, though. There's a convenience store downstairs, but it's not cheap. We bought a 5L bottle of water for RM30.
As for the room, we booked a suite with two bedrooms and a living room. Each bedroom had a double bed, and there was also a double bed in the living room. One of the bedrooms had an en-suite bathroom, and the other bathroom was shared with the living room. The amenities were quite basic. The bathrooms had shower gel and shampoo, and the water heater was hot enough, but you had to figure out how to use it first. There was an ironing board and iron in the unit, but we didn't use them. There was a washing machine, washing powder, an induction cooker, a pot, a frying pan, large bowls, plates, cutlery, a dining table, and three chairs. We did laundry, and there was enough space to hang clothes, as we could hang them in the bathroom and living room.
The worst part was having only three chairs. It's advertised for six people, but with only three chairs, one person always had to stand when we ate together. There were four of us staying there.
The toilet paper provided by the host was barely enough. We ended up using our own tissues too. Since we stayed for five nights and often brought takeout back to eat, the rubbish bags weren't sufficient. We had to contact someone to get more.
Bath towels were provided in the room, and the pool and gym on the 11th floor were open during the day. We didn't have any children with us, but the facilities on the 11th floor looked like they could keep kids entertained for half a day.

XIA ahuThe pool was absolutely amazing, simply fantastic!! Plus, there are plenty of great local eateries nearby, like Hokkien noodles, char kway teow, various seafood options, and durian. It's really authentic and offers incredible value for money! Highly recommended.

TszHo778The day before your arrival, the room service will message you about key collection. Just show your check-in confirmation to the security guard downstairs, ask them to open the door, and grab your key from the left. Customer service will send you a comprehensive document; make sure to read it carefully, as it's very well-organized. The building is disinfected daily, and the elevators are kept clean. There's a Starbucks and a convenience store right downstairs. I was on the 22nd floor, and the noise wasn't too noticeable. The view was also quite good, and the room rate was incredibly reasonable—much better than what I experienced in Guangzhou. Unless you're staying in a high-end four or five-star hotel, I'd definitely recommend this type of serviced apartment for travel. If you're considering guesthouses in George Town and have high expectations for your accommodation, I wouldn't really suggest them. The motorcycle noise there is beyond imagination, and since it's a heritage area, their sewage system is quite old. However, if you're not particular, it can offer a unique charm. Overall, everything was great. The residents here are very friendly, and I never had to wait long for the elevator, contrary to what some online reviews mentioned. My longest wait was never more than 30 seconds. A local driver told me that this is a newer area, so the location isn't ideal for tourists if you want to walk everywhere; you'll need to take a taxi unless you're driving. But I personally found it quite good. If you plan on exploring, you'll need to taxi to George Town daily, which is usually about a 15-minute ride, so that's a bit of a downside. Otherwise, I'd choose this type of travel accommodation over a four or five-star beachfront hotel. I had a spacious apartment all to myself, which was fantastic. These are all my thoughts, and I hope they help with your decision.
