Free left luggage and hourly room bookings. I left my suitcase for a week after staying for 2 nights and then before my next flight booked a room for 5 hours. Perfect and easy to find if its your first time in China and you need time to orientate. Save on the airport left luggage costs. Great staff recommended. Opposite the domestic terminal just walk across the road take the lift to the second floor and walk across the air bridge to the lobby.

February 21, 2026 – Stayed in a Sea View Family Room
During our Spring Festival trip to the western side of Hainan, Ocean Flower Island was a crucial stop. We planned a two-night stay and, for convenience, chose the highly acclaimed Oubao Hotel on the island.
1. **Parking:** If you're driving, you can directly access the island and navigate to the Oubao Hotel. There's an underground parking lot, and if it's full, staff can direct you to other nearby parking areas. For those leaving the island, you can register at the front desk in advance to enjoy free parking.
2. **Hotel:** The hotel is massive in scale. The majestic lion sculptures and fountain outside the main entrance are grand, especially at night with the interwoven lighting, it feels like entering another world. It boasts the most single-unit guest rooms in Asia, composed of four interconnected Y-shaped European castles, each with a unique natural theme: forest, ocean, castle, and glacier. Our room was in the Glacier Castle, with corridors and rooms featuring a blue and white palette and abundant glacier and animal elements. The ground floors of the four castles connect to form the hotel lobby and check-in area. The space is vast, with a cathedral-like glass dome ceiling. In the center below, there was a festive New Year display, a vibrant and joyful scene. On one side of the lobby, two grand, symmetrical spiral staircases descend from the second floor, one white and one red, both adorned with flowers, creating a noble and elegant photo spot. The lobby has four exits, each leading to a different castle. After checking in at the front desk, you choose your path based on your room. Each castle has over ten elevators. The entire process left me with one impression: grandness!
3. **Room:** Both the main room and the bathroom were very spacious. It had one large bed and one smaller bed; the small bed, shaped like a train engine, was a nice touch, and the bedding was comfortable. The room's decor and configuration were quite simple and standard, but the glacier theme, with polar bear and penguin elements everywhere, added a refreshing touch. The shower was good, and it was quite rare that the shower enclosure hardly leaked. The window faced the sea, but there was a garden green belt between the castles, so the sea was distant and not a spectacular, unobstructed view. However, we were lucky enough to catch the sunset on our check-in day. The afterglow of the sunset painted the sea, fishing boats, bridge, and villa complex in our view a beautiful reddish hue. This combination and visual experience were stunning and definitely a plus.
4. **Breakfast:** The breakfast restaurant had palace-like high ceilings and space, arranged in a long strip, which made the food retrieval path a bit inefficient. The dishes were abundant and diverse, with local specialties. During our two-day stay, we sampled Hainan Yi noodles, Hou'an noodles, coffee cake, coconut cake, pumpkin cake, and other local delicacies. My elder child loved the Hou'an noodles so much she had two bowls every morning. The dessert selection was also very rich.
5. **Other Facilities and Offers:** During our two-day stay, we experienced the following: On the first evening, we attended a music festival and firework show at the Guanhai Park, with discounted tickets for hotel guests. There's a free bus shuttle near the hotel entrance that goes to places like the Ocean Park and the Fitness Center. We took this shuttle on the second day to swim at the Fitness Center. The hotel's own pool was unavailable, but we could use the Fitness Center's pool for free. It's a standard 50-meter lap pool, and it was my first time experiencing such a pool. There's also a mini-train station on the island not far from the hotel entrance, but we didn't use it.
6. **Service:** All the staff we encountered were very responsible and professional, indicating a high level of overall training.
In summary, it was a truly perfect stay, making it a top choice for accommodation when visiting Ocean Flower Island. Besides meeting basic needs for food, entertainment, and lodging, it also offered a sense of grandeur that is quite rare.

After our trip to Shimei Bay, we arrived at the hotel with my entire family, including young children and elderly parents, along with several large suitcases. We were understandably quite tired from the journey. Upon arrival, it was clear that the hotel had a significant shortage of staff both inside and outside the lobby – a stark contrast to Shimei Bay, where service personnel were readily available everywhere. Although there weren't many guests checking in at the time, and the scene wasn't particularly busy, given our large group and numerous bags, I had to proactively request a luggage cart to make things easier. For a resort hotel that prides itself on the guest experience, the initial service response would be much better if it were more proactive and if staffing levels were more adequate.
Regarding the room, the promotional pictures I saw when booking showed a sea-facing view with a visible beach. However, the actual view from our room was quite different from what we expected. While we could see the sea in the distance, our primary view was of the hotel's pool area, and the beach wasn't visible at all. The visual impression didn't match the promotional images.
During the Chinese New Year period, the hotel organized various activities, some free and some with a charge, which is understandable. However, it was quite surprising to find that even digging for sand crabs on the public beach area required an additional fee. Compared to the hotel we stayed at previously in Shimei Bay, the activity planning here was indeed a bit lackluster.
On the bright side, the breakfast was excellent. There was a rich variety of options, especially the Pandan Tofu Pudding, Pandan Pancakes, and various Hainan noodles. These were not only distinctive but also delicious, adding a wonderful culinary delight to our mornings.
What truly impressed us was the mature food scene around the hotel. From Coconut Chicken, Wenchang Chicken, Ding'an Jumping Beef (which can be hotpot or BBQ), Baoluo Noodles, Hainan Noodles, to all sorts of desserts and snacks – the choices were incredibly diverse. This added a lot of local flavor and memorable gastronomic experiences to our trip.
The hotel's beach area itself was quite good. The sea breeze, sand quality, and the overall experience were very relaxing and comfortable.

Booked this hotel for my parents and they absolutely loved it! The room was new and very clean, with smart amenities. They also appreciated the free self-service laundry, which was a lifesaver for their trip. The hotel service was excellent, with prompt responses and proactive assistance. The breakfast spread was ample, making it perfect for seniors and kids. Plus, it's conveniently located near dining options. Great value for money, highly recommend! 👍
Facilities: The facilities are quite comprehensive, with a swimming pool and a water park. The kids had a blast, and the staff were very responsible, helping to look after them. If you need to leave for a short time, you can ask the water park staff to watch your children, and they do a great job. However, I couldn't find a self-service laundry area, so if you're staying for an extended period, you'll need to figure out your own laundry. There are very few charging stations; only a few above ground, and the underground parking only has dedicated Tesla chargers. The staff weren't very clear on this; we circled around several times without finding any, and only after asking customer service were we told there weren't any. Later, needing to charge urgently, we had to go to Dajiao Park for a fast charge.
The hotel has a restaurant, and the prices are reasonable. You can also go to Changhua Town to eat; there's a small shop there that serves more than just noodles, and their dishes are delicious. The owner is very welcoming, and things aren't expensive. They even have my favorite pea and minced pork noodles.
Environment: The environment is great, the scenery is beautiful, and it's very close to the beach, perfect for clamming.
Hygiene: Clean and tidy, and trash was promptly removed. The day before, the breakfast had pancakes, and they had made a lot. A guest saw a fly land on them, so the staff threw them all into the trash. The next day, there was a chef making them fresh on the spot, so hygiene is definitely assured.
Service: If you need anything, you can contact the front desk, and a service staff member will respond quickly. We brought our child and requested extra blankets and drinking water, which were all delivered for free.
There's a third-party photographer, but their skill level is very average. Just take the complimentary photos; don't choose extra photos for fine-tuning, as they look like fake Photoshop jobs. Their skill really isn't good.

The room's lighting system has a one-touch switch to turn off all lights. However, the night light under the sink is too bright and seriously disrupts sleep 😴. I had to turn it off, which made it pitch black when I got up at night.
The sea view from the room is fantastic. When I put on the 'do not disturb' sign, the housekeeping staff respectfully honored my request and didn't enter the room without permission.
The concierge at the entrance was professional and courteous, proactively helping guests with their luggage. My thanks to them.
The shuttle bus for the Haikou CNSC Duty-Free Shop stops at the hotel. It departs at 9 AM and 2:20 PM, stopping on the right side of the hotel at the 'Guomao Sanheng Road' Dadi Insurance entrance. Just wait 5 minutes before departure.
Seems to be the hotel is ready to be renovated. Room was very clean. Staff gave all necessary information.
But… we arrived by taxi from Baisha, and supposed to be taken to Baoting as a next destination. To call a taxi to the hotel took around one hour.
Yes, we got some help, but is was mostly “talking”, not actual actions to be taken. No hotel’s car are available. So, plan how you are going to get out from this place in advance.

Traveling with my parents and child in Sanya, we headed to Wanning. However, it's a two-hour drive from Haikou airport after picking up the rental car. I was worried about rushing to catch our flight back, so I booked the Sofitel hotel for the night before our departure. The hotel offers fantastic views and is very close to the airport, about a 30-minute drive, so no worries about managing time. Plus, there are plenty of quality dining options in the surrounding city area. On the day of our afternoon flight, we still had time in the morning to visit Wanlu Park and Xixiu Beach Park near the hotel. We left for the airport around noon, arrived in 36 minutes, returned the car, checked in our luggage, and had a happy journey home!

The hotel definitely stands out as the face of Ocean Flower Island. It's located right at the entrance to the island, and its iconic twin towers are truly magnificent, offering a visual feast without even needing to leave the building. Plus, the hotel's location is super convenient.
**Facilities:** The room was incredibly spacious and bright, with a modern minimalist design. The facilities were very new, the bedding was pristine and comfortable, and the cleanliness was spotless. The bathroom was also very large, and the separate wet and dry areas were a thoughtful touch.
**Service:** We checked in around noon on March 11th. The front desk lady was exceptionally warm and professional, making the check-in process efficient. She also thoughtfully provided us with a guide to exploring the island and even upgraded our room. A special thank you to the front desk lady for her service, and the bellhops were also fantastic.

The beachfront view is absolutely breathtaking! The environment is beautiful, and you can see the ocean and the stunning sunset right from your bed, which is incredibly therapeutic. The room was clean and tidy, with all the facilities you could need. The butler was warm and attentive, providing meticulous service. It's an excellent choice for a beach vacation. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied and highly recommend everyone to come and experience it!

Kkeai343This is probably the most expensive hotel I've ever stayed in, nearly 3000 RMB for one night. However, the hotel's service, especially the quality of the staff, is truly outstanding and provided genuine VIP emotional value. I'd like to thank all the hotel staff again; I'll definitely be back.
All I can say is, apart from the price, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Book with confidence, it's flawless.
Breakfast at the Western restaurant was also excellent. Dinner at the Thai restaurant was superb as well.
In a word, it's worth it.
View: Amazing.
Facilities: Though they feel a bit dated, they are actually quite good.
Cleanliness: Excellent.
Environment: Perfect score.
Service: This is the best service I've ever experienced in any hotel.
GGuest UserI was pleasantly surprised by hospitality and care of the personnel. We arrived late, almost at midnight, they sent a personal transfer to meet us. The hotel itself is very clean, modern, comfortable and cosy. Worth every spent yuan! The breakfasts were diverse and tasty. The pool is a bit cold in the morning. The children's one is nice.
The room was spacious, the cleaning, water and bathroom amenities were provided every day!
Thanks for your warmth and care! Special thanks to Sophie who was always only one message and 5 sec away to help with any issue or answer any question.
The birthday cake was a pleasant surprise for me, very touching! ♥️
SShudaikaolaThe entrance is impressive, even featuring a large Bentley to add to its grandeur. The lobby is beautifully decorated, and the service was great; they helped bring our luggage to the room. The view was lovely, and the room was very spacious, perhaps even a bit too big. The balcony has a drying rack, which was convenient for washing and drying clothes after swimming in the sea. The shower pressure was excellent and very comfortable. I've always liked Wanda's toiletries; they smell fantastic.
FfeyiuDuring the spring break, I took my kid back to China to experience the tropics, and the service booked through Ctrip was indeed excellent (thanks, Lucas!). The 3-night package for the open-plan family suite was incredibly good value. With a king-sized bed plus bunk beds, it easily accommodated three adults and one child. Although the room faced a construction site, the windows were well soundproofed, so there was no noise. The complimentary executive lounge access provided enough food for dinner (the popular delivery food in Haitang Bay is truly awful). It was very convenient to get to the duty-free shop, just across the road. The beach was clean and not crowded, and the family pool wasn't cold and even provided warm towels. There weren't many activities for older kids at the hotel, but we participated in crab catching, fish feeding, and snorkeling, which we found to be great. We also added an underwater photoshoot, and all the instructors were incredibly patient.
GGuest UserThe hallway on the 4th floor had a musty smell, but the room itself was fine.
The Club Lounge food was excellent! My little one, Minbao, loved it so much she ate there two days in a row. They had a great variety, including plain pork sausages, ribs, rice, and roasted chicken, which was perfect for young children, and adults enjoyed it too.
On the first day, it was very crowded, so we couldn't get a baby cot. However, on the second day, they upgraded our room and provided a cot.
Just a heads-up: the Club Lounge package we booked was for a garden view. To get a sea view, you need to specifically book a Club Lounge Sea View room (the photo shows the view after our upgrade).
Also, the room amenities list for the Club Lounge mentioned 6 complimentary laundry services, but this benefit has expired. Laundry now costs extra, though the price was reasonable – around 100+ for a pair of pants and a set of pajamas.
YYingwusuowangershengqixinFacilities: The facilities are a bit old, and some of the sofas in the public service areas are broken.
Hygiene: The hygiene is pretty good; the cleaning staff are very diligent.
Environment: The surrounding area is very convenient, and getting a taxi is easy. It's also very quiet at night.
Service: The service was good overall. The complimentary cocktails at the hotel bar were delicious, and the afternoon tea snacks were decent. However, the service at the tea lounge was very poor. They asked for payment as soon as we ordered tea, and then charged a 15% service fee for a pot of tea before we even had the first cup, because the waitstaff had other arrangements. After discussing the issue with the tea lounge manager, they recognized their problems and committed to improving their workflow and attitude. They offered a solution by waiving the tea and service fees and promised to definitely improve. It's great to see them acknowledge their mistakes and commit to fixing them! The construction of Hainan's International Free Trade Port starts with service.
Extended stay benefit: Check-out extended to 2 PM based on availability: The hotel front desk was excellent, extending our check-out to 3 PM, which made our Hainan research trip much more relaxed and enjoyable.
Extended stay benefit: Double Cloud Drive Afternoon Tea | Hilton Haikou's 35th-floor Sky Lounge: The tea snacks were plentiful.

GGuest UserJW Marriott Sanya Dadonghai Bay | A Heartfelt, Must-Write Review
This review is late, but it absolutely needs to be written. March 1st was the most chaotic, exhausting, yet ultimately the most heartwarming and healing day I've ever experienced in Sanya.
A minor dissatisfaction arose during check-in the day before, which the hotel promptly and proactively addressed. It was a standard resolution, but what followed truly made me remember the warmth of this hotel.
That evening, a family emergency led to my family member being rushed to the hospital by ambulance. I had been out all day, and my child hadn't eaten lunch or dinner. I dragged myself back to the hotel late at night, utterly exhausted both physically and mentally. The first thing I did on the way was contact the customer manager, Chris, asking him to arrange Hainanese chicken rice for me in advance, thoughtfully preparing room service for my child. Upon returning to the room, my weary heart was first soothed by a warm meal.
We stayed in a sea-view room with a breathtaking view, yet we felt no excitement. My family member was still in the hospital, and I was busy until past 1 AM before finally getting some sleep. The coconut sent by the hotel was sweet and comforting. In that moment, no matter how beautiful the sea view, it couldn't compare to human kindness.
What truly broke me and brought tears to my eyes instantly was the next morning.
As I was leaving for breakfast, I met the cleaning lady on the 12th floor. I briefly explained the sudden family emergency and the many inconveniences at the hospital, only hoping she could help me prepare some disposable toiletries later.
Throughout our conversation, the cleaning lady was incredibly warm and genuine, without a hint of perfunctoriness. She proactively helped me pack my clothes, carefully reminded me if I had left anything in the room to avoid me having to go back and forth, and even called the front desk to arrange for a luggage cart – I had originally planned to carry eight pieces of luggage downstairs myself with my child. This thoughtfulness was completely unexpected.
Many hotels nowadays offer service with the explicit goal of getting a good review. However, this lady had no ulterior motives, she was calm, unhurried, empathetic to the guest's needs, and always thinking ahead for the guest. Her words and actions were incredibly considerate, like family. In my most helpless and chaotic moment, she didn't provide a standardized service; she offered genuine kindness and assistance. My heart was deeply touched at that moment.
It's a pity that I didn't catch her name in my haste. I only managed to take her photo so I could remember her. I sincerely request that the hotel commend this excellent employee. She is a true gem of the hotel.
Despite the unexpected events and regrets of this trip, the JW Marriott Dadonghai Bay, with its simplest and most sincere service, preserved all my tender feelings for Sanya. A good hotel isn't just about its hardware; it's about the human touch. Thank you for being my most steadfast support during my most difficult time.
GGuest UserWe visit Haitang Bay once or twice a year. As a huge Marriott fan, Sheraton was the only one left on my list. I booked a pool access room, and after reading many reviews about various issues, I honestly didn't have high expectations before checking in. However, the overall experience far exceeded our expectations.
Even before arrival, we received calls and messages from our butler, Xigua, who proactively reminded us to book a photoshoot. When our room wasn't ready, she enthusiastically offered complimentary drink vouchers, though we were already at the duty-free shop by then, haha. The front desk service was decent; when we specifically requested room 1032, they tried their best to accommodate us and arranged a nearby room that was even better than 1032!
Many reviews mentioned slow room cleaning, but even with the hotel almost fully booked, we only waited about an hour and were able to check into our room by around 2 PM. We had some psychological preparation for potential dampness in a pool access room, but as northerners, we didn't feel any noticeable humidity once inside. The room was spacious, the bedding very comfortable, and the air conditioning was sufficiently cool. The cleaning staff did an excellent job. We genuinely didn't encounter any of the issues mentioned in previous reviews. All the staff we met at the hotel greeted us warmly, and our butler Xigua was very responsive, giving the place a lively and welcoming feel.
Regarding breakfast, it's true that it seemed a bit simpler compared to other hotels, but the Hou'an noodles were absolutely delicious, and the jellyfish with aged vinegar was also tasty – a very homey flavor. After a two-night stay, we were extremely satisfied with both the pool and the room. The service attitude was impeccable; the bellhops were proactive in helping, the cleaning staff greeted us warmly, and any issues were promptly resolved.
I understand that as an older hotel, there might be some maintenance challenges in certain areas. However, it's precisely these older hotels that possess a certain 'old money' charm, feeling like they've witnessed many stories. The small details throughout the hotel reveal that this Sheraton truly had a glorious past, retaining an aesthetic from an era of economic prosperity. I hope it continues to improve. Next time I come for a weekend, Sheraton might genuinely be my first choice. I hope I won't be disappointed again!
GGuest UserFor our last two nights in Sanya with the kids, we chose Atlantis in Haitang Bay. The facilities and environment are definitely a step above the hotels in Yalong Bay, and the service is excellent. The hotel has its own aquarium and water park, which aren't particularly special, but they're convenient to access right from the hotel. The water park can get quite sunny, but it's fine for kids, though the bigger rides require a height of 1.22m. Personally, I found the hotel's indoor heated family pool more enjoyable than the water park! 😂 The ocean view in Haitang Bay is stunning, but the sea can be a bit rough, so it's not ideal for playing on the beach. Overall, the hotel is really good. For Haitang Bay, it's definitely the top choice when traveling with children!
GGuest UserThe Grand Hyatt Haitang Bay was our second stop in Sanya.
[Public Areas] Unlike the Park Hyatt's museum-like design, the Grand Hyatt has a very Suzhou-style garden feel. Walking from the main building to the beach felt like going from Suzhou to Sanya, with extensive green spaces. The pool is located near a tiered area, and the outdoor section is quite shallow, perfect for just lounging in the water.
[Room and Service] The Grand Hyatt's service truly felt proactive. Our butler, Curry, added us on WeChat in advance and, upon learning about our group's composition, immediately upgraded us to a Grand Seaview Connecting Suite. This consisted of two rooms directly opposite each other – one suite and one standard room combined. It was incredibly convenient for a family trip. Our butler responded quickly to any issues we had throughout our stay, and checked in on our status and needs from check-in to check-out. When housekeeping was replacing our water, they saw we had a large group and directly left a whole box, which was very thoughtful. However, the downside is that the rooms are indeed quite old and show signs of age. Even when clean, the bathtub was a bit underwhelming, but with everyone using tub liners now, it's not a major concern.
[Family-friendly] There were plenty of activities. Our baby loved all the craft classes and the pool foam party every evening, not wanting to miss a single one. They had a great time. If you're traveling with kids, their schedule will be packed with activities from start to finish. Both this hotel and the Park Hyatt use the same activity provider.
[Dining] During peak dining hours, you might have to wait for a table at the restaurant, and window seats are highly sought after. The breakfast selection is rich and varied, with timely refills. It's a good, solid breakfast with plenty of delicious options. I indulged in many iced Americanos every morning. An endless supply of self-serve iced Americanos is what I truly crave daily!
Our second stop at the Grand Hyatt was also very satisfying!
