We checked in on the evening of May 3rd, and the butler upgraded us to a suite, which was a pleasant surprise. The guesthouse owner was very welcoming, and the next day he even showed us the entire villa. Every room was very comfortably furnished. The butler was incredibly kind; on the evening of the 3rd, he offered to pick up my husband from the high-speed rail station. Later, on the 4th, when we returned from our outing, we realized how dark the mountain roads were. We were truly grateful to the lovely butler. The guesthouse has a wonderful natural environment. The flowers and trees at the entrance and the various vegetables and fruits in the small garden demonstrate the owner's dedication. The guesthouse is currently undergoing renovations and upgrades, and my daughter is especially looking forward to the barbecue area in the adjacent stargazing room. Overall, the stay was very comfortable and definitely worth a second visit.

For this trip to Zhangjiajie, we spent the first two nights enjoying a slow pace on the west side, then moved to the Guanzhi S B&B near the East Gate for the next two nights. This B&B positions itself as a boutique hotel, not just a regular guesthouse. From the moment you step in, you know it's something special – an artist's entrance, with an artistic atmosphere permeating every corner. The details are meticulously crafted. Many guests here are international tourists and discerning travelers who appreciate quality. It's no exaggeration to say this is the most thoughtful and attentive service I've ever experienced. 📍Location: 50 meters from the East Gate, 7-seater shuttle service provided The B&B is about 50 meters from the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, making park access incredibly convenient. However, because it's so close to the scenic area, it's located in a restricted zone. ⚠️ You MUST use Didi (ride-hailing app) to get directly to the B&B's doorstep. Plus, the hotel offers a 7-seater shuttle service, so transportation is a breeze for families. It's also easy to find restaurants after leaving the park, as the area around the East Gate is full of eateries. 🛏️Bathtub King Room: Refined Down to the Details We stayed in a bathtub king room. The room isn't huge but is exquisite in every detail. The bedding is comfortable, and a relaxing soak in the tub at night washes away all the day's fatigue. Forgot kids' toothbrushes, slippers, or shower gel? The B&B has it all; just ask the front desk, and they'll bring it to your room. There's also a 5 sqm kids' play area with a slide, building blocks, and a small rocking horse. 🗻Come for the the amazing views & park proximity, stay for the fantastic service 🚙‼️ 🛏️ The room had a super interesting layout- there was a sauna, a bathtub, and a space for a tea ceremony all rolled into the same room. It was very clean and spacious. 🍴🫧 Free breakfast and they will do your laundry for free as well! Just leave it in the basket outside of your door and it’ll be there washed when you return from whatever mountain. 🚙 THE CAR SERVICE. The hotel offers free airport/train station pickup, they’ll message you through trip.com for your travel details and someone will be waiting at the station to pick you up. They will also arrange a car to take you to whichever destination you choose in the mountain- they’re 10 minutes driving from the East Gate (Bailong Elevator Route if you’re trying to get tickets) or 45 minutes from Tianmen Mountain. They arranged cars for us in the morning both days. ☀️The hotel itself is situated next to some very beautiful mountains. Their staff were very polite and efficient! Our train got in very late (10pm) and through WeChat, we were able to arrange having food prepared for our arrival through the hotel’s restaurant. Thank you again!

Pet-friendly hotel, and they even upgraded my room. The location is excellent, just over a kilometer from the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, surrounded by several other big hotels, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. The lobby is on the 7th floor and features a beautifully decorated rooftop terrace with several Ragdoll cats. The family room with one large and one small bed was perfect for traveling with an older child. I noticed many foreigners staying here – Zhangjiajie is really popular with international visitors!

We had a very pleasant stay at this lodge mostly because of the young, efficient, helpful, warm staff. All of them are great! We stayed for 4 nights. They helped us book our tour tickets and even order food. Love the minimalist look and the scenic view at the 5th floor. We experienced both sunny and rainy weather and both are amazing. The food is satisfying, I forgot to order the noodle soup, though I would love to suggest to have more protein (meat) options and change menu daily. Nonetheless, I would still love to stay here again if ever we come back. The location is also great with few minutes walk to where the happenings is. Thanks a lot!

We booked this property through Trip.com because it was advertised as Avatar Mountain Resort, with promotional photos and social media posts showcasing spectacular mountain views. Unfortunately, our experience was quite different. The biggest issue was simply finding the hotel. None of the major local apps, including Amap and Didi, recognized the property as “Avatar Mountain Resort.” After arriving at the airport, we had to contact the hotel directly. They asked us to connect via WeChat and sent us the address in Chinese. Only then did Amap and Didi recognize the location under the name “Zhangjiajie Zhishe, Zili Holiday Minsu.” We also noticed another name displayed at the building entrance: “Z Plus Resort Inn.” Having three different names for the same property was extremely confusing and made the arrival unnecessarily stressful. The second and most disappointing issue was the misleading advertising. The stunning mountain view shown on Trip.com and the hotel’s Instagram page was nowhere to be found from our room or the property. The only view available was a distant view of mountain ranges shared with neighboring rooms. The advertised “Avatar Mountain” scenery simply did not exist from this hotel. This felt like a significant misrepresentation and was the main reason we chose to book this property. Breakfast was another letdown. We stayed for three nights, and the breakfast was exactly the same every morning with very limited variety. On one morning, we even found blue mold growing on the bread, which was unacceptable. After that, we only felt comfortable eating the freshly made omelette. That said, there were some positives. The hotel’s location is excellent, only about a five-minute walk from the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park Middle Gate. From there, it’s roughly a 12-minute shuttle bus ride to the Bailong Elevator, making it very convenient for exploring the park. The staff also deserve recognition. The front desk and concierge team were friendly, responsive, and genuinely helpful. They assisted us with purchasing park tickets, planning our itinerary, and answering our questions throughout our stay. Last but not the least, the lady outside the resort who was always selling cucumbers, hiking sticks, or raincoats. No matter the weather or the time of day, she always greeted everyone with a warm smile. It was a small gesture, but it added a genuine touch of kindness . Overall, while the location and staff were excellent, the misleading marketing about the view, the confusing hotel identity, and the poor breakfast experience significantly affected our stay. I hope Trip.com and the property update their listing to accurately represent what guests can actually expect. Travelers should not book this hotel expecting the iconic “Avatar Mountain” views shown in the advertisements. Convenience to Zhangjiajie is a plus for this location for sure though

We stopped here during our road trip, and overall, the stay was excellent. The room was clean and bright, with plenty of space, and the bedding was soft, ensuring a good night's sleep. The facilities were comprehensive, and the hot water supply was stable. The front desk staff were friendly, and check-in was efficient and quick. The surrounding area was convenient for getting around, and it was quiet at night with no bothersome noise, allowing us to rest well after a long drive. The price was great, offering excellent value for money. It's perfect for a stopover during a long road trip, and we'll definitely choose it again if we're passing through.

The hotel is excellent. It's located just outside the main scenic area, so it's not noisy and very quiet. There's a large, free parking lot nearby, which is very convenient. The hotel's design is great, the rooms are spacious, and they even come with a scenic balcony. All the facilities are complete, and it's clean and hygienic, making for a very comfortable stay. While it's only about a ten-minute walk to the scenic area, the hotel provides a dedicated shuttle service. This means you can enjoy a comfortable stay and save energy exploring the sights. What's more, the hotel group also operates other guesthouses and bars within the scenic area. When you're exploring, you can visit their bar for some great photo opportunities – it's a popular spot for snapping photos of the waterfall, offering a unique perspective from across the river, opposite the official viewing platform. It's definitely worth a visit for some fantastic shots. The bar owner is incredibly enthusiastic too! The hotel had mentioned there wouldn't be a minimum spend and that we'd get complimentary tea and snacks, but the bar owner went above and beyond and even gave us an extra half-dozen beers. We're very grateful for that! The hotel itself also has a hot spring on its sixth-floor rooftop, which is incredibly relaxing after exploring the ancient town. The butler even surprised us with a complimentary bottle of red wine, which was another unexpected bonus. Overall, this hotel is truly excellent, offers fantastic value for money, and is highly recommended.

We enjoyed staying here. They could help us with booking passes for the Avatar Mountains (Zhangjiajie National Park) and the Tianmen cave on Tianzi Mountain. They speak good english and cared to make sure we were settled in our room, very helpful. The room was very big clean, tidy and looked after, modern castle style. Great views of the Mountains from the balcony. We could do our own laundry free - two washers, two dryers that work very well. Easy to get to places from here. We took Didi (Uber) to Avatar Mountains East Gate entrance (45mins-1hr), cheap as chips to us ($25 NZD for a two hour trip). Easy to catch Didi back from there or anywhere! Using your phone App only, or you may get ripped off by taxis parked there. Highly recommend staying here.

Hygiene: Clean, tidy, and comfortable. Environment: Great location with a commercial street and snack street downstairs, plus a mall. Tianmen Mountain cable car is right across the street. You can park at the hotel and walk directly to the scenic area. Service: Warm service, and they even offer free ice cream when it's hot. The food tastes good too.
