Xining is a fantastic, vibrant city, and my biggest regret is not staying longer; it deserves way more time than just a quick transit stop thanks to its incredible food scene, night markets, and laid-back vibe. During my visit, I stayed at LETE Hostel, which serves as a solid, character-rich base for exploring the region. The top-floor communal space has real history and soul, beautifully flooded with sunlight, packed with green plants, a massive library, and even three cute resident birds. The ladies at the front desk are incredibly kind-hearted and welcoming, always doing their best to help out. Location-wise, it’s perfect - super convenient for the night markets, local food stalls, and bus stops, plus they offer safe bike storage for cyclists. For the price of a private room, the value and hospitality here are unbeatable, and I would absolutely stay again - and next time, I’ll be giving Xining the full week it deserves.

I found the perfect hotel experience right by Qinghai Lake 🌊. Staying at the Guanhu International Hotel, opening the window reveals stunning lake views with sparkling blue waters. The view from the third floor of the lobby is absolutely breathtaking! The room was spacious and comfortable, and having breakfast by the window truly jumpstarted my day☀️. I especially want to thank 'Little ******* Fox Butler' 🦊 for their incredibly detailed and warm service. They arranged everything thoughtfully and provided many practical travel tips, making me feel truly at home. Both the facilities and service quality are top-notch. If you're visiting Qinghai Lake, choosing this place definitely won't disappoint! Best lake view hotel!

Hilton's quality is consistently reliable. The rooms come standard with humidifiers, perfect for the dry高原 climate. There's 24-hour laundry (washer and dryer in one). Breakfast includes yak yogurt and ga mian pian (local noodles). It's super convenient for visiting Ta'er Monastery and Qinghai Lake. Located on a main thoroughfare in Chengdong District, parking is free and ample. Upon check-in, they offer hot ginger tea to help with altitude sickness. The bedding is soft and the soundproofing is excellent. It's a top choice for a rest stop on a road trip.

This is an older five-star hotel in Xining. I booked a high-floor deluxe twin room, trusting the old reputation of five-star hotels. Upon check-in, they gave us three boxes of specialty Qinghai yogurt. The room wasn't particularly spacious, and the facilities were quite standard, not really feeling up to a five-star rating. The mini-bar fridge was empty, and only tea bags and instant coffee were provided. There was bottled water on a table in the hallway, available to grab anytime, which is good since Xining is quite dry and you need to hydrate. The bathroom was a bit small, with a regular toilet and shower, and the shower pressure was a bit low. The hotel offers a variety of pillows, and the towels and bath towels in the room were very comfortable to use. The standout items at breakfast were the beef noodles and 'zhusheng' noodles.

I stumbled upon this hotel on Ctrip and was captivated by its setting from the first sight. Upon arrival, the experience far exceeded my expectations! The hotel is nestled in the mountains surrounding Jianzha County. The view from your room feels like you're stepping into a Windows background. Opening the door, you'll be greeted by vast, rolling grasslands, dotted with herders' homes. Every morning, a herd of yaks leisurely ”visits” the hotel, foraging on the grass. Besides the yaks, you can also spot eagles soaring through the windows. While enjoying breakfast, I was even lucky enough to witness this nationally protected species strolling through the hotel grounds. At night, ascending to the rooftop, the starry sky feels almost within reach; it's said that on new moon nights, the Milky Way can be clearly seen stretching across the sky with the naked eye. The nearby Kanbula Forest Park is a treasure trove of wonders. The awe-inspiring experience is beyond words, like stepping into Middle-earth from ”The Lord of the Rings.” The hotel's service is equally astonishing. Aside from the owner, the staff are mostly friendly ******* men and women. From the moment we arrived, they enthusiastically recommended nearby restaurants and attractions. During our stay, they were incredibly responsive, going above and beyond to meet our every need, sharing any special sights they discovered. The entire hotel exudes a customer-centric, attentive atmosphere and a warm, personal touch. A special mention must go to the front desk attendant, Leng Ben, who was not only welcoming and attentive, but also meticulously prepared drinks for us when we requested to use the bar, chatted with us about local culture and interesting stories, and even worked late into the morning without complaint. The only caveat is that the mountain road can be quite bumpy, so novice drivers should exercise caution. In short, for anyone with a confident driving aptitude, this hotel is highly recommended! If your travel route takes you nearby, it's a no-brainer! The hotel itself and the stunning surrounding scenery are worth a dedicated trip.

After a trip around the Qinghai-Gansu Loop, we arrived in Xining and stayed here for two nights. Parking was convenient, and the hotel lobby felt like a trendy coffee shop – a really nice atmosphere. The front desk staff were very friendly and check-in was super fast. Both the soft and hard facilities of the hotel were excellent; our room was spacious, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The breakfast spread was extensive, and there's a large shopping mall right across the street. The location is superb! Highly recommend!

The rooms were clean and tidy, and the owner was very welcoming. The hotel includes a very generous breakfast, and you can also order dinner at the hotel if you prefer. The facilities are comparable to a five-star hotel. The hotel's location is very convenient, close to Heidushan Mountain, the Petroleum Town, and Ruyi Lake. I would definitely choose to stay here again if I have the chance to visit again.

The boss is very enthusiastic and the service is really amazing, far exceeding expectations! The room is also very clean. You can see Qinghai Lake from the room, which is only a few dozen meters away. The boss also upgraded the room for free. At night, you can see the starry sky in front of the hotel. There is also an electric heater in the room and you can ride horses in front of the hotel.

I couldn't be happier with my choice of Chaka Jundao Hotel for this trip to Chaka Salt Lake! The hotel's location is fantastic, very close to the salt lake scenic area, making travel very convenient. There are also plenty of dining options nearby, and you can even visit the lively night market in the evening. The room was cozy, the bed was large and soft, and I slept soundly. The room was also spotlessly clean, and the basic amenities were complete.

The best value hotel of this trip!!! I didn't know much about Golog and Maqin, so I booked this pet-friendly hotel without much thought. Parking was convenient. They provided welcome fruit and a free late-night snack (although we didn't eat it because we were too full from dinner). The bedroom was huge, the bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, and there was a bathtub with disposable bath bags. The decor was beautiful, and the lighting was amazing. All the slippers, tissues, and cups were much better than other guesthouses and hotels; even the plastic slippers were sterilized and packaged. There's also a restaurant where you can order food, including snacks, desserts, and main courses, and the food was quite good. The first floor has many postcards, handicrafts, etc., all worth checking out.
