Good location as always. Closed to Jonker Street and other tourist area. Close to mahtoka if you want to do shopping. No bathtub. Has high floor. Can view sunset at top floor if the sky is clear. Gym closes at 830pm though, not 24h, and is not linked with sheltered walkway to the hotel lift. Pool close at 730pm
Ames Hotel melaka was super comfortable, the bed size is big and I love the bathtub too.
The only thing I think needed to improve was Gym , two treadmills were out of order at the same time The machine is quite old.
The swimming pool there towel is finished .
Hopefully next time can provide more towels so that we can use it after swimming.
Overall this hotel is fantastic just some facilities could be improved.
Check in was smooth.
Room has many things need done after check in. For eg. 1 room has no remote control, no mosquito control, fridge is emitting heat instead of cold air, entrance door got difficulty to push open, room w queen bed (bidet is leaking water when turn on). Maintenence is prompt thankfully, so no complain. Except didn't got chance to inform of the leaking bidet.
Aircon was ok. Not so hot, not so cold. But the cold air don't travel throughout the room, only at specific area.
Breakfast at 8am was so so. Not much variety. Family was looking forward to half boiled egg, but by the time, they want, its gone. The topping up is not haste, in general. Not sure, if it is due to manpower. Nasi lemak not enough lemak. Mee tai bak was bland, curry tasted slight diluted. The rest was ok. The coffee machine drinks are excellent, even tho there is 2 machine, the waiting for the drink takes awhile. Which is understable.
Check out was smooth.
If I'm given a choice to come back. Only for the room as there is privacy. And it's convenient for my mil as she is wheelchaired. As the room is near the lift. Breakfast no.

This is my extended stay at this hotel. The place may be a little dated, but the staff truly do their best to offer great service. The room is spacious, well-equipped with complete amenities, and includes a sofa with a nice view. The rate is very affordable compared to other hotels.

I recently stayed at Hotel Tamara Melaka for 3 days and 2 nights. While the hotel looked new, clean, and modern from the outside and the lobby area was quite stylish and spacious. Unfortunately, my stay didn’t go entirely smoothly.
🚪 Check-In & First Impressions
The check-in process was fine, and the hotel interior looked polished, with a clean reception area and bright decor. The staff were polite and attentive, which I appreciated.
🚽 The Main Issue: Toilet Smell
However, the biggest issue during my stay was the unpleasant smell coming from the toilet in our initial room. I reported it to the front desk, and they quickly sent housekeeping to clean it thoroughly, which I appreciated. Sadly, even after cleaning, the smell returned later that evening when we came back from dinner.
We requested a room change, but the hotel was fully booked that night. The only available option was a twin bed room, which wasn’t ideal, but we had no choice as the toilet smell was really unbearable. Thankfully, the second room was much better. Clean, no odor, and everything worked as expected. I’m glad the hotel team managed to accommodate our request despite being full.
👍 What I Liked:
• Beautiful, modern lobby and common areas
• Quick response from staff when I raised the issue
• Second room was clean and comfortable
• Nice touches like bright flowers and a decorative trishaw in the lobby
👎 What Could Be Improved:
• First room had serious plumbing/sanitation issues
• It took a room change to solve the problem
• Twin bed instead of a king, not ideal, but understandable due to availability
⭐ Final Thoughts:
Overall, this was not the most pleasant hotel stay due to the room issue. However, I do give credit to the staff for trying their best to help. If maintenance improves and the rooms are better checked before guests arrive, the hotel has good potential.
Rating: 6.5/10
I might consider staying again, but only if I’m assured of a properly maintained room.
Clean and quiet hotel . Spacious and all amenities are available . There is a capsule coffee machine in the room . But no cakes were sent to room as promised from the crew - for birthday celebration . Poor front desk service , a bit slow and unfriendly . Used to stay here several times but this time was not that pleasant . Check - in 3/7 @ 8.30pm ( the front desk lady was rude ) . Hope the hospitality service may be improved .
New and clean hotel with EV charging stations. Hotel room is facing the sea, room has big beds for families. Highly recommended if don't mind driving a bit further for food and stuffs.
Fast check-in and check-out, plenty of parking spots available. I booked a room for 3 people, it looked decent at first glance however you can see dirty patches on the wall, mold spots and soap stains in the bathroom. The beds are low, causing difficulty for those with back pains, and really old and made squeaking sounds. Aircond worked fine, however the same can’t be said about the TV and the hairdryer. There’s no mini bar even though it’s shown in the photo. The iron and ironing board is located outside the room. Some amenities i.e toothbrush, comb weren’t provided. Maybe I was unlucky with the room and it felt like staying at a 2-star.
We had breakfast buffet at Bemban restaurant, food was good with decent options. The dinner at Asahan Coffee was also superb, especially the fish head curry was sooo good.
The staff were all friendly and gave greetings and the service was good. But the hotel should really invest more in the housekeeping area and the furniture/appliances maintenance.

Melaka is a sleepy town which is a good place to take a break from hectic work life.
Service from the hotel staff is great, especially during morning breakfast time. Breakfast buffet spread is great - probably one of the best in Msia with yummy local Melaka fare eg freshly wok fried char kway teow and freshly toasted kaya bread.
Newly renovated hotel, but slightly disappointed with the toilet flushing and pump system which is frequently jammed. Hope the hotel can resolve this issue. Hotel view with sea view is great as can see from the pictures below.

AAnonymous UserBeautiful staycation. Have been wanted to try this classic and the oldest hotel in Malacca for so long and my husband decided to stay here for me and my son’s birthday this year. Very good location literally 5 minutes away from all the attractions, 5 minutes to Jonker Walk & museums. The services also very impressive. They provided small yummy chocolate cake and deco for our birthdays inside the room. My husband also got assisted with his wheelchair as he was just one week post op. Breakfast were ala carte style but you can have unlimited orders. Malacca curry noodles was yummy! Swim pool also simple but super nice my kids love it. The room deco was classic and everything was perfect! Had a great staycation here and even recommended it to our family members. Thank you Majestic Malacca for our beautiful family staycation 😊

AAnonymous UserOverall, I can rate the stay as comfort enough, but there was some uneasy feeling because the shower in the bathroom provided not enough water pressure. Slow water tap. It caused the stay some uncomfortable feeling. The breakfast food is the same all the day during my stay, which I think should do a rotation basis, to accommodate the people whom stay longer. Overall, good job.
SSee HweeBest best option if you are travelling with family. A stone throw away from all the hype at jonker street. Ibis hotel welcomed us with a nice hotel fragrance and the helpful and friendly staff added a lot of value to our entrance.
We were wow by the room's amenities with impressive space and tip top condition. Room is housekeep to a topnotch level. Reallu loving the space and what's even better is that the room comes with bolster! I couldn't never find a hotel that offers that. We felt reluctant to leave as we only stayed a night and slept through the night like a baby. If I were to come back, hotel ibis will definitely be my choice!

AAlvinOngThis is our 2nd time staying in this hotel. It’s a building by itself with own compound. Ample parking space. It is build beside a cruise ship jetty(not sure if it’s in operation). Room is big, have all the amenities needed. Hair dryer, tooth brush, shampoo etc. The shampoo is Dove brand which is good as it has moisturizer. Bed is super big and comfortable, water pressure is good and air conditioning is not noisy. We had a good night sleep here. A few POI are walkable. Jonker street will be a little far (about 20 mins easy walk). Opposite is a shopping center. Overall is a good hotel to stay.
