Hotels With Breakfast in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan

This hotel is conveniently located near Kyoto Station, making it super easy to get to from Kansai Airport – it's right outside the station! The soundproofing is excellent; once you close the window, you can barely hear any noise. There are plenty of convenience stores, supermarkets, and restaurants inside the station, so dining is a breeze. The room itself is quite spacious for Japanese standards. Check-in and check-out are self-service, which is convenient. It's perfect if you're planning to take the JR or Kintetsu lines to explore nearby cities. However, if you're mainly looking to explore Kyoto city, it might not be as convenient as you'll have a bit of a walk to catch a bus.

I booked this hotel last minute with a great price, and it exceeded all my expectations!It’s located in the heart of the city, right near Kyoto Station and the Metro in the opposite of hotel making it super easy to get around to all the tourist spots. The room is compact but has everything you need. The staff were lovely, and the free coffee was a great bonus. With restaurants and convenience stores right at the doorstep, you couldn't ask for a better spot. Highly recommend!

Stayed at the Mitsui Garden Hotel Kawaramachi Jokyoji from 20-24 Dec. This was my 2nd stay there in 2 consecutive months, despite there being hundreds of hotels in Kyoto.  Location:  the hotel is located in the city center with Nishiki Market and Teramachi indoor shopping street located very closeby. Kawaramachi is also a big commercial street lined with plethora of shops and malls.  Train stations within walking distance.  Hotel Facilities and Amenities:  this is a very beautiful hotel next to a temple (and small cemetery). The rooms are exemplary clean and quite spacious for Japan’s standard. Many facilities such as a public onsen, on-site restaurant, vending machine, ice machine, etc. No gym, which is not a big deal at all if you are in Kyoto for a short tourist visit.  You will be doing a lot of walking anyway if you choose to.   I only visited the on-site restaurant for dinner once. The food was okay, but nothing to write home about. Service staff was accommodating (I had to use a wheelchair at the time); however, service was lackluster otherwise.   Hotel staff service:  cannot praise the service by the hotel staff enough. This time around, I had injured my foot and couldn’t walk for 2 days. I was touched by the staff’s incredible kindness - they went out of their way to really help me out. Overall:  if you want city center location with easy access to modern shops and an array of restaurants within walking distance, big and super clean room, and great hospitality,  I’d highly recommend this hotel.

The room is quite spacious, and the transportation is very convenient, with a subway station not far away. The most convenient part is the hotel's shuttle bus, which departs for Kyoto Station at 55 minutes past the hour, making it easy to explore nearby attractions. It returns from Kyoto Station at 25 minutes past the hour. The driver was very steady and polite. The breakfast was especially good; the hotel offers a wide variety, including Wagyu beef, grilled salmon, and both rice porridge and Western-style buffet options. The fruit was fresh every day, with sweet strawberries and pineapples. The downside is that the laundry room was under renovation when I visited, so self-service laundry wasn't available. Also, I noticed a lingering smell of renovation, perhaps because the room hasn't been occupied much, leading to less ventilation. The surrounding environment is very quiet.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed based on close distance with Kyoto station Hachijou exit (if you choose the wrong exit then it will take time). The only downside from the hotel is the room is small compare to other hotels in Japan so it is hard to open our luggages. Other than that, everything was perfect. The staff was helpful and caring. They provided umbrellas for free to rent on the rainy day and I love how they always put weather forecast on the small board in the reception desk in a cute way. There is also a Lawson next to the hotel which is really convenient for us to buy something. As a vegetarian (one pax can't eat garlic and onion) , the breakfast was just okay. There are quite variety to eat but if you can't eat garlic and onion, you can only eat salad but the vegetables are fresh and delicious. After all I would still choose this hotel for my next visit to Kyoto.

The room was quite spacious, and the bathroom was clean. There's a microwave and a dining area on the first floor. The only downside is there's no luggage rack. The location is super convenient, very close to Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Sannenzaka/Ninenzaka. There are also bus, tram, and JR stations nearby.

The breakfast was very delicious and had a wide variety of choices. Everything tasted great and I never got bored of it even after a few days. The onsen was also very comfortable and relaxing — it was the perfect way to unwind after a long day. I also really liked the shampoo and bath amenities provided by the hotel; they smelled amazing and made my hair feel very smooth. Another nice touch was that the hotel provided free laundry washing, although the dryer required a small fee. They also offered free ramen at night, which was a really nice service, but I was too full to try it at the time. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back again!

The location of the hotel is in the centre of everything. Could access best restaurant nearby and also the convenient store. The room is small but super clean. The staff also is very helpful and friendly.

Location: Just a 2-minute walk from Shijo Subway Station Exit 6, super close! It's on a side street, so the area is very quiet and has a charming Kyoto vibe. There are plenty of izakayas nearby, and a 7-Eleven right next door! It's normal for hotels in Japan to be small, and the room here was indeed a bit on the smaller side. You won't be able to fully open a large suitcase. A thoughtful touch: the room has a makeup mirror, which is a huge plus for women! If you're a woman, be prepared! Shijo Subway Station Exit 6 doesn't have an elevator, and the stairs are quite high. Carrying heavy luggage might be a bit of a struggle. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this hotel in all aspects!

First off, the hotel's location is fantastic. There's a bus stop nearby with direct routes, plus a convenience store. I really enjoyed the hotel's large public bath; it was so relaxing to soak in the hot spring after walking 10,000-20,000 steps every day. The hotel is also very thoughtful – they provide fresh pajamas daily, and the room size is quite good. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. On the day we checked out, we even stored our luggage for a while before heading back. All in all, for this price during the off-season, it was an excellent value for money.
