Hotels With Breakfast in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan

Our second stay here was quite a rollercoaster! 1. Even though it was pricier than a standard room, the hotel provided a larger room with four beds as requested, so the kids didn't have to worry about mom and dad not being around at night. (Happy 😊) 2. We noticed the Shinkansen (bullet train) noise was a bit loud at night, and the children had trouble sleeping until after midnight when it quieted down. (Concerned 😞) 3. The next morning, the hotel front desk promptly helped us switch to a lower-floor room on the other side, where the noise would be much less. Since they needed to set up four beds, we agreed to check in around 6 PM. (Happy 😊) 4. However, when we returned to the hotel at 8 PM the next day, we found only two beds. It seemed like they might have forgotten to arrange the extra beds. (Uh-oh 🥲) 5. After realizing the issue, the front desk promptly upgraded us to a huge room on the top floor (one level up) for free! (Excited 😆) 6. Room 124, the new one, was fantastic, though we did find a previous guest's small handkerchief behind the curtain. (Awkward 🤦) Overall, it's still a pretty good hotel with excellent staff. We've stayed here two years in a row when visiting Kyoto, so I can definitely recommend it.

This hotel deserves only an excellent mark. The hotel is situated just one metro station from Kyoto Central Station, which is very convenient. The metro station is just 100 meters away from the hotel entrance. The hotel is surrounded by a lovely park. When I arrived, there was a book fair—lots of cheerful students, kiosks with different types of food, etc. Additionally, there is a Starbucks café and a 24/7 FamilyMart next door. The Hotel offers a laundry self-service. Theare are washing mashines with a drying fuction on the 2nd floor. The front desk personnel are very polite and speak English well. When I arrived in the morning, the manager offered to store my luggage before check-in time. When I entered my room, I instinctively checked if it was really a 4-star hotel, because it looked like a real 5-star hotel—spacious room with design details, a spacious bathroom unlike other Japanese hotels, and other features that make the room look luxurious (check the photos). Additionally, I would like to point out the perfectly working air ventilation. Unlike other Japanese hotels, which have air conditioning in the rooms, this hotel has supply ventilation that works very gently—no sound, no ice-cold drafts, just a soundless flow of fresh air. I believe that the Royal Park Hotel Kyoto Umekoji is a perfect place to stay in Kyoto.

The hotel boasts a fantastic location, making it easy to get anywhere. There's a bus stop right outside, and the subway is also very convenient. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean, though the lighting was a little dim. The small eatery directly across the street served delicious food and offered amazing value. Even though the menu wasn't extensive, we ended up going there twice!

Our absolute favorite hotel in Kyoto, Japan – we were extremely satisfied! Meals were super convenient with a convenience store and supermarket right outside the door, which we visited daily. The subway station was just a five-minute walk away. The hotel's hot spring was its most unique feature; it's so rare to find a hotel with one. We'll definitely be staying here again on our next trip to Kyoto.

Location was very good, easily walkable - very close to the metro station, lots of restaurants and convenience stores. Nishiki market and Gion were walkable! Teramachi shopping street was also just a stone throw away so it was very handy to be able to nip back to the hotel for a quick rest after some shopping. Room was clean and spacious (although a tight squeeze if you have two big suitcases). Ambience was very zen over-all in the hotel, it was right next to a temple. Amenities provided. Staff were very helpful and friendly, they helped us book a restaurant reservation and also our taxi. They also provided a map and pointed out places of interest. My only thing was that there was building work noise from 11 to 5 am on our last night, which greatly disrupted my sleep. They warned us that there would be noise from building maintenance a day before it was due to be done. This was the only bummer during our stay, but would still highly recommend this place!

I wouldn't recommend staying here if you're traveling with parents; it's incredibly cramped, and space is extremely tight for the price. Honestly, for over 500 RMB, you'd get better value and comfort at a budget hotel. **Facilities:** The space is extremely cramped. As shown in photo 2, the toilet and bathtub are practically on top of each other with no separation. Additionally, there's a raised step between the bathroom and the main area, which is a significant tripping hazard. **Environment:** The overall environment feels very enclosed and claustrophobic. I was quite taken aback to find a bar table just 20cm from the bed. **Service:** Chinese-speaking staff were available, but they initially provided the wrong door code, preventing me from entering the room.

Overall, fantastic! The facilities were simple yet stylish, which I really appreciated 😊❤️. Everything was spotlessly clean and refreshingly neat. I absolutely loved the ambiance. The service was exceptionally warm, thoughtful, and meticulous. Breakfast was a true highlight: delicious, superb quality, with a wide variety of unique flavors and a fantastic texture. 👍

Great location if you take hankyu line train from Kyoto station exit 4 is just right in front of the hotel. The room is like normal Japanese size; small but organized. My mom and I both are big but still comfortable. And when you want to back to Osaka with luggages no worries, exit 4 has elevator down to B2 floor which is platform located. Near by hotel has family mart, bus stop which is take only 1 ride to go to lots of attractions such as Kiyomizu-dera, Hokanji temple, and Pontocho alley. Staff also great, they are so helpful, and if you are Thai bet your luck to find Thai staff 😀. I also booked with breakfast, their breakfast is so good like traditional Japanese things, but also has some bread and soup provided. Overall, I will 100 percent back here again for the next trip.

I had a great stay at Agora Kyoto Karasuma. The hotel has a calm, elegant atmosphere, and the rooms are thoughtfully designed with a minimalist Japanese style that feels both modern and cozy. The location is perfect, close to transportation, shops, and great local restaurants, which made getting around Kyoto very convenient. The staff were kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything I needed. Their hospitality made the experience even better. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would definitely choose Agora Kyoto Karasuma again on my next visit to Kyoto.

Life and Fresco convenience stores are right downstairs, making the location incredibly convenient for buses, the subway, and Kintetsu lines. The room is reasonably spacious, equipped with a fridge, a hairdryer, and a full set of DHC toiletries. Complimentary matcha and coffee are offered regularly on the second floor, both rich and delicious. The peach tea bags in the pink packaging are especially good with ice (there's a 24/7 ice machine available). While the building is a bit dated, for about 450, you really can't complain!
