Guest UserWe were lucky to stay at this Swissotel in Amsterdam. When my passport was lost, they went above and beyond to help me find it including letting me to back to the room after check out to look for it, talking to neighboring hotels, and checking security cameras. We will forever be indebted to them for that extra effort. Aside from that, the gym is well-equipped but has a low-medium amount of foot traffic. The room is also comfortable with a heating system that works well. Thanks to the team at Swissotel.

Guest UserThe Hotel was nice, although it was located away from the city center. The room was spacious and clean, but the staff on the night shift are rude and unfriendly. Not so accomodating to the guest.

Guest UserHere’s a firm, professional complaint that clearly states your concerns without making it unnecessarily aggressive. It focuses on the issues you described and requests a formal investigation.
Dear Hotel Manager,
I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the treatment I received during my recent stay at your hotel. This experience has been one of the most humiliating and unprofessional hotel experiences I have ever encountered.
Firstly, I was charged €250 for smoking in the room. While I understand that hotels have strict no-smoking policies and I am willing to accept the applicable penalty if a violation occurred, nothing justifies the way your staff handled the situation.
Despite me clearly instructing your staff not to enter my room, they forcefully entered without my permission. At that moment, I was not properly dressed, making the situation extremely embarrassing and a serious invasion of my privacy. This conduct was completely unacceptable.
Furthermore, during this interaction, two members of your staff spoke to me in Dutch in what appeared to be an abusive and mocking manner. Although I do not understand Dutch, their tone, gestures, and overall behaviour were intimidating, disrespectful, and deeply humiliating. No guest should ever be treated in such a degrading way.
The second issue concerns my food delivery. I had ordered food late at night, and it was left at the reception. When I went to collect it a few hours later, I was informed that the food had been thrown away. I was never contacted, no attempt was made to inform me that my order had arrived, and no explanation was provided as to why my personal property had been discarded. This is completely unacceptable and demonstrates a shocking lack of respect for guests and their belongings.
The combination of these incidents reflects an alarming lack of professionalism, respect for guest privacy, and basic customer service standards. I expect the following:
1. A formal investigation into the conduct of the staff involved.
2. A written explanation as to why my room was entered against my explicit instructions.
3. An explanation as to why my food delivery was disposed of without my consent or any attempt to contact me.
4. An apology addressing the unacceptable treatment I experienced.
5. A review of your staff’s conduct and training to ensure that no other guest is subjected to such behaviour.
I chose Mövenpick expecting a high standard of hospitality. Instead, I left feeling disrespected, humiliated, and extremely disappointed.
I look forward to receiving your prompt response and an explanation regarding these serious matters.
Yours sincerely,
Lauv Jaiswal
If you intend to escalate this to Mövenpick’s corporate customer relations or to post it as a public review, I can also help you draft a stronger version suitable for those channels.

AndreiOBrienThe hotel is a modern design not far from the airport. The room was clean, bed was comfortable. In our short stay here during our connection in Amsterdam wasn’t the best. In the room there was quite a bit of background noise causing me and my friend to not be able to get to sleep for a kind while. I turned off the climate control and even removed the card to shut off the electric for the room and there was still a buzzing noise in the background.
Upon check in I asked if we could get a wake up call and were told the phones don’t work so just set an alarm on your phone. I also asked if there was a shuttle service to the airport you could avail of as it’s only 10/15 minutes drive and he said no and to just book a taxi on my phone. I found the worker a bit rude.
The hotel is a nice vibe has a Nespresso professional machine which provided a lovely coffee during check in but I’d recommend earplugs for your sleep

Great location - short walk to the Muiderpoort station and a 5 mins train ride into Amsterdam Centraal! For the price, the accomodation was very reasonable and had everything you need for a comfortable stay. House keeping comes by everyday so you always have a clean room and towels. A fridge in the room is also very handy. Staff are there 24/7 and very helpful.
The walls are thin, so if you have noisy neighbours you can hear everything, so it could be annoying!
Overall, great stay in Amsterdam!

The location is about a 10–15 minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station. The check-in desk is located deep inside a bar, which makes it a bit difficult to find. There is no elevator, so guests with heavy luggage should be careful, as carrying bags up the stairs can be inconvenient and unsafe

Guest UserOverall, this hotel is quite similar to hotels in Japan – clean, but definitely on the smaller side. The shower stall barely fits one person. However, the views and location are excellent; it's literally just 50 meters from the station's ticket gate, incredibly convenient. It's generally clean, and right across from Amsterdam's city center. The Wi-Fi is also very fast. The Ibis across the street was a bit cheaper and also very close, but I read online that there was a chance of being assigned to a basement room, so I opted for this one instead. The Red Light District is less than a kilometer away, and there's even a Uniqlo right in front.
The downside, as shown in the pictures (if provided), is that the special single queen room has two connecting doors to the adjacent room, and they weren't locked upon check-in, which was a bit alarming. After I reported it to the front desk, they locked it. Good thing it was closed, as I heard the people next door trying to open it a few times that night, curious about the door.

DianzixiaozhongSteigenberger Airport Hotel Amsterdam actually has a whole honeycomb for breakfast! Their breakfast is truly amazing – a honeycomb, grapefruit, freshly made 'jianbing guozi' (a savory Chinese crepe), and the best omelets I've ever had. Definitely lives up to its reputation as a classic German hotel.
Oh, and out of the four pillows, one is lavender-filled. It felt lumpy at first, and I thought it was a buckwheat pillow. I slept wonderfully.
There were many Chinese and German guests, and a lot of flight attendants were also having breakfast there. There's a forest near the hotel, perfect for morning runs.
However, the facilities are a bit old, and the toiletries feel like those in a budget hotel, all 2-in-1.
