The Angus Inn is ideally situated. It's directly opposite the Queensgate Mall and only a few minutes walk from the Lower Hutt Bowling Club where we were attending a function. The Inn has all the facilities that you need such as a laundry and a restaurant. The booking went like clockwork with no hassles. An enjoyable stay.

Perfectly adequate sized rooms, but space is not generous. Shared bathrooms can be a nuisance if you are busting. Really needs separate toilets. Quiet street (for a central city) and easy to walk to from Courtney Place/Cuba St, etc. Very attentive concierge. Very good value - you get what you pay for.
We had 1 night stay. Good facilities, like pool, Spa, Restaurant, however a few things need to improve to reach 4 star, like stated.
Our room was clean and tidy but some lights up in the ceiling were out, basin in the bathroom was very cracked.
We had dinner at the restaurant. I ordered pizza, where the dough was slightly undercooked, no crisp, sloppy.
Filter coffee at breakfast, that was included had a colour of weak tea. But you were offered to pay extra for a coffee on top of $30, you already paid for a buffet breakfast.
Previously stayed here before, but I think it needs a lot of improvements as it's gone down quite a bit.
A hotel for the location really. Perfect for an early morning flight. The view out the windows to the construction area below isn't great, but you don't stay here for the views. Nice smooth check-in and check-out, even at 5am.
A divine experience glamping in a vineyard! ❤️
Had the good fortune of stumbling across Martinborough on my way to Wellington. It's a quaint place with a variety of well appointed cabins with gas fireplaces and spa baths just outside the cute village of cafes, shops and wineries. Their team is kind and hardworking. 💯
Bring your own food since you'll have a kitchenette and food can be limited during the day since most places don't open until evening or the weekends for tourists. Also, recommend driving since it's both expensive and challenging to get around outside of the limited free shuttle. Bikes are available to rent for $40NZD 🤑🤑
Very handy for me my dinner get together is next door so perfect, staff very friendly and helpful, the only downside is walls are very thin so you hear your neighbours, but otherwise all's well, breakfast can be ordered and is nice.
The room is big enough, the facilities are complete, you can cook, microwave, refrigerator, oven, and the backyard is green grass. I feel that the proprietress is Filipino, very enthusiastic and diligent. The only fly in the ointment is that it is close to Highway 1 and the noise is louder.

Stayed one night at James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor for a conference held onsite.
Check-in staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel has three separate lift banks servicing different areas — if you’re unfamiliar with Wellington, definitely ask staff to explain the easiest exit route to the city. It makes a big difference.
Breakfast was a very large buffet with plenty of options, though I’ve experienced better quality elsewhere.
The hotel itself is older but has solid bones. Perfectly adequate for a work overnight stay. For personal travel I’d probably choose somewhere with more atmosphere, however it felt safe and comfortable.
One odd feature: some rooms face an internal terrace/window area — remember to close your curtains as people can see straight in.
Bed was clean and well made, the room was tidy, though the carpet is showing its age. The shower had excellent pressure and plenty of hot water — a highlight.
Overall: reliable, practical conference accommodation rather than a destination stay.

The room is located in a renovated old street, with a very bold use of color. It's the most 'Cuban-colored' hotel on Cuban Street. Very distinctive. All the toiletries are New Zealand's Antipodes brand, known for being fragrance-free, dye-free, and natural. The breakfast juice is also from the New Zealand national juice brand, Home... It's great overall. I'll definitely come again. It's great for photos. Each floor has a different color scheme. The room might not have been occupied for a while, as the cups and hairdryer were a bit dusty. However, for this price point, it's totally acceptable. No complaints.

In the heart of the downtown city close to the action if you like to go out in the evening. We missed the airco as it was warm on our room. We had nice view on the church next to the hotel

GGuest UserThe staff were very friendly, welcoming & very efficient. They took the time to go out of their way to make us comfortable.
The lift & room was just a little bit older around the edges, but still very good! The bed was heavenly-soft & lovely, we just wish we'd had time to rest & relax more than one night in Wellington!
GGuest UserHad an amazing stay .concierge to reception staff very friendly and professional. Wish we stayed longer. Having a pool and gym on site was a bonus, too.handy to restaurants and cafes.

GGuest UserGreat view of the Queen's wharf/ waterfront and good amenities (ie sauna room, kitchenette, ironing facility). Only gripe that I have would be that the hangers are affixed to the wardrobe and also the lack of bathroom/bedroom slippers)

AAnonymous UserAll in accommodation and services are good and you take a bus around CBD and lambton quay. Its all good! Definitely will be back here. Cheers

GGuest UserI love this place! The beds are very comfy, and the bathroom is very spacious and clean. It’s great that the hotel can arrange parking for you at Wilson Car Park, which is just beside the hotel this makes everything so much more convenient.
The location is within walking distance of most tourist destinations such as Cuba Street, Willis Lane, the Waterfront, Beehive,Wellington cable car,and Te Papa Museum so u dont need much driving around the town just to explore as u can do all of it by just walking from the hotel.
It’s also close to many restaurants and convenience stores.
The staff are amazing and very helpful! I also love the Nespresso machine in the room. I will definitely come back and book here again next time!
GGuest UserThe room is very clean, the layout is very reasonable, the room temperature is particularly warm, the service is very good, will stay next time
JJJJewThis hotel offers great value for money. It's conveniently located, just a few minutes' walk from the subway station and commercial areas. The rooms are well-equipped, the bedding is comfortable, and the soundproofing is good, so I slept very soundly at night. Check-in and check-out at the front desk were quick and efficient. Breakfast was served promptly, and the food was fresh. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I highly recommend it.
