Was really excited to stay at this hotel since it is from a well known group. However, was quite disappointed with the hotel itself. It’s older than I thought and compared to the photos. There is strong smell of humidity and mold when you exit the elevator, throughout the hallways and inside the rooms. The bed was quite small. Pillows flat, blanket thin and not suitable for winter time climate. You can find mold in the grout around the bathtub so you know the facilities are old. And the bathtub is quite small even for a female. So hard for a grown man to fit inside. There was no water available! Usually four star hotels would offer some bottled water. The front desk told us to drink from the tap, but the water in Taipei is not safe to drink!? We were disappointed because it’s not really worth the price!! The room fees were quite high and the quality is just not to standard. The housecleaning in the morning is so loud when cleaning nearby guest rooms that it is really disturbing to guests who are not checking out or staying more than one night. This place is really busy on the weekends but we can see it’s mostly packed by tour groups.

The room was spacious, the bed was soft and comfortable, and there were plenty of pillows and towels. There was plenty of tea, coffee, and drinking water. The clothes racks were convenient. The location was within 10 mins walking distance of Ximending and near Cafour. However, the breakfast room was a bit cramped and lacked seating. If there were tour groups, you might have to wait in line.

I frequently visit Taipei, but this was my first time staying at the Grand Hotel. Its vibrant red aesthetic is incredibly captivating; every time the MRT passes by, I can't help but take an extra look. My direct experience staying here was excellent. Even though it was a windowless room, it didn't feel stuffy at all, and there were no odors, which shows how diligently the hotel manages its rooms. The breakfast spread was exceptionally rich – I ate for an hour and was completely stuffed! You can also visit the secret tunnels; this time I went to the East Secret Tunnel. It cost 500 TWD, and you can book it at a counter near the hotel's front desk.

You can’t ask for a better location. Across the street from Taipei main station (go underground, don’t walk across the street as the crossing isn’t directly outside). Some people say it’s old but I didn’t care, everything works and in order and staff were wonderful. Thumbs up to the full length mirror.

I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, with modern amenities and a cozy atmosphere. The breakfast buffet offered a great variety of delicious food, and the restaurant’s service was top-notch. The location is also perfect — close to major attractions, restaurants, and transportation. I especially appreciated the small touches, like the welcome drink and daily housekeeping. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations and provided a relaxing, enjoyable experience. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Overall a pleasant stay. Staff are polite and pleasant, the dried tomatoes at L5 is good. 😊 only hair dryer, handwash, body wash and 2in1 shampoo/conditioner provided in room so be sure so bring your other toiletries if you need! Pros 😊 - fuss free check in (room was ready ahead of check in time so recep let us in) - water dispenser avail (don’t have to buy your water) and 2 bottles in room daily - small area at L5 for you to relax at with some snacks and drinks (great if you’re having a late flight and need somewhere to rest after checking out, or if you arrive early before check in) - easy walk to xmd - bus stop outside with buses that gets you to most places Cons 😞 - poor sound proofing (can hear kids running down the rooms, people chatting outside, opening/closing of doors) - room not super conducive for light sleepers. E.g there is gap between the pelmet and curtain so once the sun rises, the light will shine into the room, your room will not be in the complete black-out state. Can bring an eye mask to help with this! - very basic room amenities. - slightly steep price given how basic and no-frills this hotel is.

Super convenient for Taipei Central Station and the MRT to the airport, with it's own entrance way to the subway system 50 metres from the front door of the hotel. Its also well located for good shopping, and the Peace Park and the Taipei Museum. Classic old fashioned service awaits here, with friendly staff who speak good English and well furnished rooms with superior bathrooms. I got an upgrade to a room with a window which was a bonus, even though I was in and out of the hotel mainly after dark so didn't get to appreciate it. The bed was very comfortable and the WiFi was good and strong. There's an in room fridge and coffee maker too, and lots of nice touches all round. Buffet breakfast on the 3rd floor was very good and plentiful, and check in/out was smooth and easy. The bedside light and alarm controls were a bit confusing, but I figured them out in the end. The only annoyance was the silly AI or Alexa box on the bedside table that kept talking to me at random times but didn't respond to any voice commands, so a bit useless. Overall, a great stay and I will return here again next time I visit Taipei.

Service: Front counter service was very impersonal. Didn't like the idea of them giving us a list of instructions/conditions upon check-in and one of it states that we had to check out on time or be charged NTD300 per hour after the check-out deadline. Having said this, I must commend the elderly gentleman who was in charge of the luggage. He saw us approaching at the end of a long day and immediately pressed the lift button for us. Although it was a small gesture, we really appreciated it. Housekeeping personnel, too, was very quick and responsive. Room: Size was spacious, but the bed was uncomfortably firm. The room on the whole looked dated. I got a room that had no windows. Thought it would be ok to stay in a room without a window, but 3 nights was too long, and I didn't like waking up to not knowing what the weather condition was like outside. So, just a point to consider if you want to pick the window-less room. Prior to East Dragon, I was staying at another smaller hotel near Taipei main station, and the experience was the complete opposite of this hotel. The front desk personnel was very warm, the bed was super comfortable, and it had free-flow of snacks and drinks in their common dining area. They also entertained late check-outs. At the end of the day, it felt like we were coming home after a tiring day. Sadly, we did not get this experience with East Dragon. Location: At the fringe of XMD and a short distance to Ximen MRT. However, if u want to do day trips around Taipei via public transport, staying near Taipei Main Station was more convenient. In short, would I stay at this hotel again? I doubt it. For the same price, I'd definitely pick the other smaller hotel as I truly enjoyed my stay there.

The hotel room was perfect, though a little on the small side. The staff were incredibly polite and welcoming, always greeting us warmly each morning as we headed out. Its proximity to Taipei Main Station was incredibly convenient, especially as it was the meeting point for several tours I joined. I highly recommend the Dadaocheng Braised Pork Rice nearby, a nameless Japanese sashimi spot (you'll know it by the long queue every day!), and the truly authentic Indonesian restaurant in the Y28 underground mall.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Miramar Garden. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. The hotel is centrally located, near the Taipei Main Station, which made sightseeing convenient. We enjoyed the pool, although it was smaller than expected. The hotel offers a good buffet breakfast, with decent variety. There is also a small cafe in the hotel lobby. The hotel staff was friendly and spoke good English. Overall good, the shuttle service I think goes until 10 or 11pm but they were kind enough to be flexible with me when I came exactly at 11pm to the station. Make sure you communicate with them in advance. I emailed them and then added their WhatsApp to do so. Worst case you can walk from Xinbeitou station but it's up a hill. The room is very spacious with Japanese style of sitting area of chit chat. The private hot spring inside the room is cool as well as the outdoor public hot spring is a different experience. Do take note to bring along your swimming costume to enter the outdoor public. The amenities in the hotel is nice and clean. There isn’t much choice for dinner at the hotel as there is only 1 Japanese restaurant serving the food. The food is slightly on the high side but the taste is delicious. We arrived around 15:30 the room was ready. The front desk staff was friendly and provided useful information about the restaurants, facilities and the complimentary shuttle bus service to the nearest MRT stations. The room was very clean and spacious with a separate toilet and shower/bath with in-room private hot spring water access. The room was very quiet at night. We enjoyed the ‘public’ hot spring facilities too. There are a few pools with different temperatures you can choose from, plus sauna and steam. There were only a few people when we were there so it’s extra enjoyable for us. There is also an indoor swimming pool. We had an amazing and relaxing time in this hotel. A fantastic location near to several metro stops. Only a few blocks from Dihuan old street and Nanxi night market. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and while the hotel seems a little older, it has been maintained well. There are also many comfortable seating areas in public spaces, which I appreciated. Everything was super clean except for the bedside screen curtains—they were VERY dusty, so don't move them (will disturb the dust) or close them (A/C will blow dust directly onto bed). A great hotel overall.
