About Xi'an North Railway Station

Xi'an North Railway Station (西安北站, Xī'ān Běi Zhàn) is located on Yuanshuo Road (also known as Shangxin Road) in Weiyang District, Xi'an, Shaanxi, China. It is located approximately 7.5 miles (12 km) from Xi'an city centre (Bell Tower), 1.9 miles (3 km) from the municipal government centre, and 17.4 miles (28 km) from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport. Opened on 11 January 2011, it is one of the largest and most important high-speed rail hubs in Northwest China.

With a total area of approximately 533,000 m², the station features 18 platforms and 34 tracks, making it a central node in the regional high-speed network. It is operated by China Railway Xi'an Group and serves multiple major lines, including the Xuzhou-Lanzhou, Datong-Xi'an, and Xi'an-Chengdu High-Speed Railways, greatly enhancing connectivity across Western China.

The station offers full integration with local transport networks, including metro lines, buses, taxis, and private vehicles, ensuring smooth transfers for travellers. Since January 5, 2025, it has also provided direct cross-border high-speed rail services to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station. This service marks the first time a high-speed train has directly connected Northwest China to Hong Kong.
