The hotel is great for a layover as it is super close to the airport. They have a shuttle which was a great help for me. I really enjoyed the breakfast and dinner as I missed SA food. Most of the staff was really helpful (especially Lily from the kitchen) she went above and beyond to help me cause I was with a baby. She made sure I was comfortable, had my food while she was holding my baby. I really appreciate that, thank you đ . I also observed her around other customers she kept the same energy. My room was cleaned daily which was nice. My suggestion is some stuff member must give the same service to everyone regardless of who they are and how they look.
The hotel smelled so good right from the entrance. The staff were very professional, kind and helpful. The shuttle driver David was extremely kind. He walked me to Nelson Mandela square and showed me also how to get back to the pick up area. He addressed me as âmadamâ.
The check in was easy peasey. The young lady at check in was so helpful and kind.
The concierge was beyond helpful too. The young man I forgot his name was so welcoming. Showed me how the elevator works.
The restaurant staff especially the guys in the kitchen who cooked my eggs were very understanding and kind. Everyone I met at the hotel left a lasting impression on me. I do not forget the maids too. Thank you so much staff. I WILL be back!

The hotelâs location is incredibly convenient, just a short distance from the airport, making it perfect for a quick stopover or if youâre catching a flight.
The staff were all friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist with anything we needed. The pool area was a highlight, beautifully maintained with a relaxing atmosphere, ideal for unwinding after a long day of travel.
And the food? Absolutely amazing! From breakfast to dinner, every meal was delicious, with a great variety of options. Overall, itâs a perfect spot for both business travelers and those just passing through Johannesburg. Highly recommend!
The hotel service was good and the facilities were very good.
The only thing that is disappointing is the meal issue.
There are no restaurants nearby and you can only eat here.
I always stay at this hotel when I come to Johannesburg on business. The room is small but clean and tidy. There is a gym in the basement. The facilities are relatively simple, but it is enough for running and stretching. There are two Chinese restaurants in the park where the hotel is located. I only ate at Yichu Hunan cuisine, which tasted okay.
It was great to stay!
Very comfortable, clean and spacious than I expected. Especially, the breakfast was amazing. Had many options to take than I thought. Hot and cold foods and different kinds of cheese, breads, jams and even smoked salmon sashimi!
Also, they have upgraded my room into king bed room. The room was clean and big enough. Amenities were soap, body lotion and 3 in 1 bodywash(+shampoo and conditioner).
If you want to stay quiet room, I would recommend the 1st floor.
The parking in the basement made me feel more safe.
Definitely I'll recommend to others and will come back!
Hotel is a bit dated but room is ok and comfortable. Room is a bit small considering it is in the suburb but overall maintaining the good Holiday Inn standards. Location is good as there are supermarkets, malls and food outlets within 5 min drive.
Itâs conveniently close to Sandton City Mall, which made shopping and getting around very easy. The room was also clean and well-maintained, with housekeeping coming in daily, which I appreciated.
However, I did experience an ongoing issue with the room key card. Every time I returned to my room, the card wouldnât open the door. This happened multiple times during my stay, and it became quite frustrating, especially when I had shopping bags or luggage with me. I had to carry everything downstairs to the reception to report the issue, only to be told someone would come assist. Iâd then have to go back upstairs and wait, sometimes for quite a while. Occasionally, one of the cleaning staff was kind enough to open the door for me, which helped, but the inconsistency and inconvenience definitely affected my overall experience.
Friends booked five rooms together, but one trash can was not emptied. The exterior windows of the two stores were being repaired from 2 to 5 p.m., and workers kept kicking and kicking the windows, making clinking sounds. I complained to the front desk manager, but there was no formal reply. In fact, repairs to individual rooms can be completely avoided. After traveling continuously for several days, it is impossible to take a high-quality nap.
Hi
It was a lovely place but was very suprise of a group of young ladies making a very loud noise/ at +-3:45 am.
This same group were making noise at +-11 am. I fail to understand you'll have 24 hours security and no one even noticed this.
I was very intimidated to actually open the room door to see what was the issue. I was planning for a peaceful night.

GGuest UserI've never been at a better hotel my whole life.
Trust me, the hotel is such a âWow!â
I will definitely go there for my honeymoon, from Zambia!
The location is superb, so close to the airport.
Shuttle from the airport and to the airport is free!
RReeseâsThis was an interesting experience because as we arrived, we had police vans parked in the parking. Of course thereâs any visitors seeing this. It causes alarm because you are not quite sure why they come there. The room was very big and everything was clean, but the noise was almost unbearable. All hours there were people coming in and out so if you want to relaxing vacation, this is not the place. And unless we had a room that was not located in the right area, Iâm not sure. The restaurant on the hotel premises was good and the food was tasty and there were many options with lovely music and the vibe was great. There was also a swimming pool that we did not use because we went in winter but it looked pretty good. There were no slippers and robes for us to use, which did not add that luxury experience. Someone had allowed us to use their Netflix for several days before it got cut off and we were not sure how to watch TV at all in the room was not really that fun. Fortunately we had sent in close by and many other things to do and we had hired a car (the Avis is very close by which is wonderful and convenient) so we spent our time wandering around which was also wonderful. Overall, I would give this a 3 star out of 5.
TTraveling TanI recently stayed at this hotel which left me disappointed due to their shuttle service limitations. While the overall experience was average, the lack of a 24-hour shuttle service proved to be a significant inconvenience, particularly for early morning flights.
One of the key reasons I chose this hotel was because of its location and a shuttle service to the airport. However, upon checking in, I was informed that the shuttle operated only from 7 am onwards. This was highly inconvenient as my flight departure time was earlier. I approached the receptionist to inquire about alternative options, hoping for some flexibility or assistance, but was met with an unhelpful suggestion to order an Uber instead.
Having previously stayed at other hotels near airports, I had come to expect a 24-hour shuttle service as the norm. It was disappointing to find that this particular hotel did not offer the same level of convenience. Given the additional cost associated with using ride-hailing services like Uber, this unforeseen expense was an unwelcome surprise.
In conclusion, if you have early morning flights or rely on a reliable 24-hour shuttle service, I would caution against choosing this particular hotel. I would recommend exploring other nearby options that prioritize customer convenience and provide a more accommodating shuttle service.
GGuest UserHotel is rated at 5star but the amenities are quite average. The standard king size room is smaller than I have experience in some other hotels if that range. You do not find water glasses in the room. Room service is very slow and sometimes your call will just keep transferring between room service and reception if you needed something. If you ordered food in your room, you have to make payment immediately. It does not amount up to check out. There is only one restaurant, one cafe in the hotel. You can walk up to nearest restaurant for your food that is 800m away.Pool is there but you have to carry your own towel. The day we arrived, there was a birthday party around the pool with loud music. We avoided going to pool side. Shoe shiner is in the lobby and if you get your shoes cleaned he needs to be paid as compliment and that complement begins with 100rand minimum. To me itâs an average hotel and ok for a couple of days. It had some conference going on so extra crowd was also in the lobby for the two days we stayed If you are looking for a luxery experience, better choose another hotel. This hotel is ok for not more than two days of stay.

GGuest UserI recently stayed for a couple of nights, and overall, it was an average experience. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff was friendly, which I appreciated. However, the room itself could have been a bit more updated. While it was clean, the furnishings seemed a little worn, and the bathroom, although functional, had some minor issues like a leaky faucet.
The bed was comfortable enough, but I did find it a bit harder than I prefer. The hotel amenities were standardâthere was a gym and a small pool, though I didn't have time to use either. The Wi-Fi worked fine, and I didn't encounter any issues with the air conditioning or heating during my stay.
One thing that stood out was the location. It was pretty convenient for my needs, close to a few restaurants and shops, though not overly special. I was hoping for a bit more from the hotel's restaurant, as the menu was somewhat limited and the food was just okay.
In short, it wasnât a bad stay, but it didnât blow me away either. If youâre just looking for a place to sleep without expecting anything extraordinary, this hotel will do the job.
GGuest UserIt's giving more 3 than 4 stars? Customer service poor.
Holiday Inn was full so this was a close alternative.
Had amenities but their outlets were in the kitchen far from the bed? Not very business traveller or relaxing traveller friendly.
I booked a queen studio which had a kitchenette which was great for warming food etc. Decor a bit tired so could do with some love. But apart from a very dirty bottle left on the balcony it was clean.
Location is excellent for Rosebank Mall even if you have to play chicken to cross the road đ
Customer service was severely lacking. I thought Radisson Red staff were slow but at least they were always there. You can't call frontdesk . It's all QR codes and WhatsApp. Late check out would be the cost of another night R1980. Staff had a, I dunno attitude and werent very helpful. 1 security guard and 1 young lady in the lounge are the only exceptions. Outlets in the lounge and office were local only and I had to really ask to get where I could buy adapters / converters.
Next time I'll go elsewhere. They're not customer focused enough for me.
RRyan_PanitGreat Location and Convenient Shuttle Service
I recently stayed at the Southern Sun O.R. Tambo International Airport Hotel and found it to be very convenient. The location is ideal, being so close to the airport, which made catching my flight stress-free. They offer a complimentary shuttle bus service every 15 minutes from the airportâs Bus Terminal to the hotel, which was incredibly convenient.
The room itself was acceptable, the bed was particularly comfortable, making for a restful nightâs sleep. Overall, a good option for travelers looking for comfort and ease near the airport.
DDeborah-AnneI have stayed at the Quatermain before, and I am happy to say that the whole experience was once again just lovely! I had arrived VERY early on my check-in day and the staff made sure that I had a room well before the scheduled check-in time AND they upgraded me too!
The staff at the hotel are friendly, helpful and all round just a delight!! Even with the ongoing challenges that loadshedding (scheduled power outtages) brings to the smooth operation of any business.
The gardens are immaculate and tranquil, and it is unbelievable to think you are in the middle of everything with the peace and quiet that pervades.
The little bistro / restaurant's menu is thankfully limited, as it means that the quality can be assured and anything that is made tastes deliciously homemade. The evening buffet is very good value for money!
Just a small note that due to loadshedding, sometimes the email/booking system gives some issues - so don't forget to just follow up once booked :)
