If you're coming to Lhasa and want a hotel with history and atmosphere, look no further than the Gurkha Hotel! This is a 400-year-old historic building, formerly the Nepalese Consulate, and now the Gesar Japo Museum. Stepping inside feels like traveling back in time to old Tibet, completely immersed in ******* culture. 🌿 **The courtyard ambiance is divine!** The Tibetan-style courtyard on the first floor gets amazing sunlight and is lush with greenery, creating an incredible atmosphere! Relax in the courtyard, sip on a special sweet tea, or enjoy some juice or coffee for a leisurely afternoon tea. You might also want to try the local yak yogurt and dried cheese curds – a delicious blend of sweet and milky flavors. ✅ **Amazing perks when you stay!** ▫️ Free use of hotel ******* clothing (10:30 AM - 10:30 PM), which you can wear out to explore Barkhor Street. ▫️ 10 complimentary courtyard travel photos (taken by a partner studio; makeup/premium outfits are an additional charge). ▫️ Free admission to the Gesar Japo Museum. ▫️ Rooms come with a high-altitude amenity kit: face masks, hair oil, makeup remover wipes, and wet wipes – thoughtful details. ▫️ Unlimited free sweet tea in the courtyard. 📍 **Unbeatable location!** Right on Barkhor Street's Kora (pilgrim circuit), just a 3-minute walk to Jokhang Temple. You can easily pop back to the hotel to rest whenever you get tired from exploring. It's perfect for travel photography and creating instant video content. The service is attentive and warm – staying here is definitely the right choice when you're in Lhasa!

This youth travel is really pleasantly surprised. As soon as you enter the door, you will be wrapped in a warm atmosphere. The public areas are arranged in a stylish manner. Everyone sits together and chats and plays games, and is as lively and comfortable as a small family. The food is also very good, the breakfast is rich, the local specialty snacks are authentic, and I eat every day. The room and public restrooms are spotless, the bedding is clean and tidy, and it is particularly safe to live. The boss and staff are super enthusiastic, will take the initiative to share the surrounding play guides, and also help us solve various small problems. Staying here for a few days, not only feel the convenience, but also harvest the full warmth, it is definitely the first choice for accommodation here, has been recommended to friends in the same group!

Beautiful hotel that still preserves its historical architecture with modern luxuries. We enjoyed the heated floor (it's so comfortable to walk around) and the oxygen machine (a lifesaver when we just reached Lhasa!). Special thanks to Guest Service staff - 次塔 for coordinating breakfast and housekeeping with us throughout our stay, and for helping to safekeep our forgotten item when we checked out! Her warm hospitality helped us ease into the high altitude environment more easily! Oh and don't forget to try the Indian restaurant within the hotel - it's extremely delicious and the price is affordable! We hope to return soon!

At the same time the suggestion me to go one hot spring which to me is an unforgettable memory. Before I left, they gave me gift (unscented sticks & post card is totally out of my expectation. Helping me to carry my luggage’s are completely 5 stars hotel experience….hehe….🥰 I felt the whole hospitality is so wonderful & unforgettable to be. This Lhasa trip led me to an incredibly pleasant surprise: a hidden gem of a Tibetan-style hotel. It was a perfect, flawless experience! The moment I walked in, I was enveloped by a rich, authentic ******* atmosphere. Exquisite handcrafted ******* doors and windows, alongside handmade wool ******* rugs, complemented by the soothing aroma of ******* incense, created an elegant and solemn space brimming with ethnic beauty. The lobby was clean and refined, and every photo I took looked like it belonged in a magazine, offering a truly immersive experience of snowland ******* culture. The entire room was equipped with an oxygen concentrator, so there was absolutely no need to worry about altitude sickness upon arriving at the plateau, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The bedding was soft and gentle on the skin, the bathroom was clean and odor-free, and the 24-hour hot water supply was stable and ample. A humidifier and comprehensive toiletries were all provided. This hotel perfectly blends traditional ******* elegance with modern, high-end comfort, balancing both aesthetics and practicality.

This quaint Tibetan-style hotel is located just inside Barkhor Street. It is very convenient to the Jokhang Temple and the Potala Palace. There are also many delicious shops nearby. The proprietress is very welcoming. I originally booked another hotel, but because it couldn't accommodate people from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, I changed to this Babao Hotel, and I was very satisfied with the result.

Exceeding expectations, the boss is very good, before going to expect that the accommodation environment near Everest may be general, but this is clean and hygienic. The self-service hot pot is also delicious. The boss is also very enthusiastic, although the moon was too bright on the day we went, we couldn't see the stars. In the morning, customers will also be taken to see the sunrise. The staff will also help us with our luggage

Hotel location is very good, it is convenient to take a taxi from the road. The decoration is also beautiful and distinctive. I didn’t expect that there is an elevator that is very comfortable. The room is also clean and furnished with Tibetan characteristics. I think there is one thing to pay attention to. The floor is not very good. There is a section of the floor (in the scope of the bed) that is made of thick wooden boards. I think it is a natural feeling. Suspense is good, but maybe due to the cost, these boards are very rough and there are a lot of nails left on them. If you like to walk barefoot, you may step on this. Some nails (the tip of the nail is in the eye, so it may be uncomfortable to step on the middle). These manipulating boards I don't know if barefoot will be a thorn. I suggest that the hotel pour a thin layer of transparent glue on these wood. I have seen other hotels do it with this women's toilet. This looks still very primitive, but there is a certain guarantee for customers. I believe the cost will not be expensive because it is only a small range. The main thing is more safe.

The location is very close to the Princess Wencheng Theater, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, and the popular S-shaped bay. The staff were friendly, the bedding was comfortable, and the environment was quiet; I slept until 10 am. The two puppies were adorable.
