This is my second time staying at this hotel and am extremely pleased to be a returning customer. I finished a big tour of Shikoku by bike in the last 13 days with a friend now just returned to the same hotel for a couple of relaxing days before heading back home.
This hotel is at the heart of the Dogo district with great amenities, very friendly staff and top quality services. I’d like to thank two of the hotel staff, Medo Shuhei and Jay whom have been very helpful to assist our stay during our trip. I have no hesitation to recommend this hotel to my friends and would be more than happy to stay in the same hotel next time visiting Matsuyama.
Nice location. It's just like an ordinary Japanese hot spring hotel, the highlight is the hot spring pool on the top floor, where you can look up at the stars at night. The dinner was average (felt like a group meal). As other reviews suggested, if you don't have a meal package, you can go to the hot spring street to eat and you might have a better experience.
It is expensive, but it’s worth every single dollar. The hotel located right in the centre of Dogo Onsen. The room is spacious and the view of the city is excellent. The included dinner and breakfast at top notch with excellent service. The service is impeccable!
It's really close to Dogo Onsen, so it's perfect for those who want to enjoy Dogo Onsen and the hot spring town, but want a reasonable accommodation. At first glance, the entrance is small and you might wonder if it's the right place, but inside the hotel has a great atmosphere. The room and futon were great. I stayed there with a friend from Tokyo, and everyone was very satisfied.
The free shuttle from Matsuyama Airport provides easy access to the accommodation.
The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, which was a real treat.
The welcome farewells upon check-in and check-out were delightful, with soap bubbles and a gong ringing.
The sea bream sashimi and steak served at the buffet were melt-in-your-mouth delicious.
It was wonderful to be able to enjoy the seven large public baths, nestled in the mountains, surrounded by nature.
My wife was especially delighted by the anniversary specials, which included a private bath, a surprise cake, and a yukata.
I'd love to bring my mother back for another hot spring bath, and if you're using the private bath, be sure to try the floating sake. It'll make for a romantic evening.
It's a place I want to go again.
I want to stay for a month with money.
It was a very happy experience.
The staff were friendly and the hot springs were so good and the room was in good condition.
It was the most impressive place on my trip to Matsuyama.
Good value for money.Cooking facilities are available and quiet. The check-in method was ambiguous, but if you have a general common sense, you can arrive and do what you write.
It is a long established inn, and it is like a hot spring inn. It was full of Showa retro feeling, such as the cluttered corridors, wooden stairs railings, and tiled wash basins, but it was OK at all because it was a cheap night stay.
The bath is also shared 1 Every time two people enter, they lock it. The building is old, but the toilet was a washlet, and the hair dryer and pot in the room were new and clean. The walls are thin, but the guests around me seemed to be sensible, and I was able to spend quiet and comfortable at night. Imabari hand towels are also a nice service. Since it was an online reservation, I asked if I could issue a receipt, but I kindly asked him to issue it. The location is close to Imabari Port, but I walked about 10 minutes from Imabari Station in the shopping street.
I was there at Jan 2024, and only stayed there for 2 days.
The staff there can speak English, and were nice. The second day I stayed there, the staff offered me to have hotpot with all the other people living in Fujiya, an unforgettable experience I treasured and will forever remembered. Even though it is a proxy of a Japanese family, it did feel like I have experienced the Japanese hospitality and friendliness. There were some interesting characters, who may or may not frequented Fujiya, whom I had the pleasure to have this hotpot together.
The facilities are not the best, but the basics necessities were there and no complaining from me, they have an AC there, comfortable enough for me.
The staff did explain that there is only one shower, so we might have to wait for the person to finish. However, since the location is so close to Dogo Onsen, they did recommend to go there instead, and after all, it was why i chose this location in the first place. Location is really close to the Dogo Onsen and the Yuzuki-Castle ruin, which was a lifesaver for me
I would say that all other sight-seeing locations are within walking distance as well since I did walk to all those interesting places. However, I do realize not all people like to walk like I do. To counter that, Fujiya is practically next to the tram station, which you can use it to go to many places in the city.

GGuest UserThe fresh fish was not simply served on a large platter, but was carefully cooked and served one by one, like in a small restaurant. I was able to enjoy my meal slowly and feel happy while sipping on some alcohol.
The room was also very clean and comfortable.
The staff were also friendly and kind, which made my heart feel fulfilled.
GGuest UserTwo days of bicycles on the island Bohai Road, from the tail road, the first night to stay at this homestay, health, equipment no problem, comfortable rest for one night. There is a hot spring nearby, close at 20:00, you can buy tickets from the store manager, Ping less.
GGuest UserMy wife and I had a wonderful stay at Ryokan Chaume. This family run Ryokan made us feel at home. The manager drove us to and from a terrific onsen nearby and afterwards we were served a delicious multi-course dinner. The drink list was excellent too. After a tasty Japanese style breakfast we needed help making an onward reservation, so the manager made several calls on our behalf and found us a place that had a last minute cancellation. I would recommend the Ryokan Chaume to anyone looking for a high quality inn.
GGuest UserWe had a super warm welcome by the owner couples. They are the nicest and inspiring people I ever met!The house is clean and you can find skillful crafts everywhere in it.We had everything we needed. There are manga books in English and Japanese gimmick toys for leisure.Three types of bedrooms all is spacious and cozy.Location is perfect, beautiful sea view from the kitchen window. Beach is steps away.Neighborhood is quiet and nice.
GGuest UserIt was a perfect place for one night. The onsen was also amazing. The staff made me feel special, and the food was really good. This place could use some renovations here and there, but it was not something to affect my stay. :)
TThomas RegnierBig bath with sauna and cold water pool, outdoor area to cool off. Staying overnight in a big tatami room with view to the central fish pond. Relaxing even during roof renovation phase.
GGuest UserIt's good, and offers excellent value for money. I booked it during the university entrance exam season, and while other hotels had hiked their prices, this one impressively kept its rates unchanged.
