Mu'an Hostel for Female Travelers

9,6/10
Excellent
Posted on Aug 4, 2026|Good Night Sleep - Female 12-Bed Dormitory Room (Latex Pillows and Mattresses + Separate Quiet Area)
CNGuest User
I stayed for three nights in a 12-person dorm, on a lower bunk. The space was more spacious than I expected, and with my luggage in the common area, it was super convenient to pack or get clothes. Everyone was very considerate, quietening down automatically at night, so I slept soundly. The hygiene was indeed good, with the cleaning staff tidying up every day. When I first arrived, someone gave me a quick tour, showing me where the washrooms were, how to use the hot water, and how to use the key card for entry – very friendly for first-time hostel dwellers. The location is also convenient, just a few minutes' walk from Changgang Station, and the neighborhood is very quiet. It offers great value for money, with lots of delicious food nearby and easy access to delivery services. I'd definitely recommend it to friends.

I stayed in a dorm room for three days, and my overall experience exceeded my expectations. In the mornings, I'd walk downstairs to the cheong fun (rice noodle roll) shop for breakfast; their fresh shrimp cheong fun was wonderfully smooth and tender. It was just a few minutes' walk to Binjiangdong Road subway station, and I could get to Beijing Road and Yongqing Fang with just one transfer. Each bed in the room had its own curtain and charging port, so I had privacy when I drew the curtain. The communal laundry room was available 24/7, and it was super convenient to be able to wash and dry my clothes right away.

Pros: Clean, especially the bedding. I saw cleaning staff tidying the restrooms multiple times. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, so it's dry and odor-free. The toilet even has disinfectant and disposable seat covers. The women's restroom is well-stocked with cotton swabs, shower caps, cotton pads, shower gel, shampoo, and a hairdryer. The accommodation area requires a key card for entry. The lobby has a great atmosphere, with a water dispenser for drinking water, and the front desk offers free earplugs and laundry pods. There are signs reminding guests not to eat in their rooms, suggesting they use the lobby instead. It's about a 5-minute walk from the subway station. The room includes hangers, tissues, 1 bottle of drinking water, a key-card operated locker, a clean bath towel, and the mini single room with a window even has a screen. There are washing machines and dryers available, though I didn't check the prices. You can store luggage on the first floor; all sizes of suitcases should fit. It's almost free for up to 8 hours, costing only 0.01 yuan. Cons: The dry area of the bathroom could use an extra small shelf for phones and other items. The wireless charging in my mini single room didn't work well. My key-card locker couldn't be locked. The curtain door of the cubicle isn't very soundproof, and the air conditioning in the cubicle sometimes wasn't cool, requiring me to ask front desk staff to adjust it, which was a bit of a hassle. Someone was eating instant noodles in the room, and the smell was disruptive, but after I reported it to the front desk, the smell was gone within two hours (this isn't the hostel's fault, and the staff were great). I hope staff remind guests not to eat in their rooms during check-in, as some might not see the signs. Things I don't mind but others might: The men's rooms are on the first floor. The mini single room cubicles have fairly stiff curtain doors that can't be locked (Image 4), but the main room door requires a key card for entry. Each main room contains about 10 small cubicles (Image 2), and men and women are not in the same main room. Other: The quality of your roommates largely depends on luck. Apart from the instant noodle incident (which the staff resolved) and a foreigner making a late-night call (which I stopped), I was generally very satisfied this time.

Honestly, it's really good. Every time I come to Shenzhen, I choose this place, not just because it's affordable and great value for money. The main reason is that the hotel is very cozy and comfortable to stay in. I really like the bedding, especially the pillows – they're perfect for someone with neck issues like me. Many 'good' hotels have pillows that are too soft, which makes it hard for me to sleep. There are a few hotels in the old town that are several times more expensive than this one, but they genuinely aren't as comfortable as this place! That's a fact! They put a lot of care into Jump Ocean Hotel, it's very clean, and I really like it. I sleep very well here, and the vibe is great too.

The environment is beautiful, with an endless expanse of blue ocean right outside the window. The air is so fresh, and it really lifts your spirits! The room was clean, tidy, and cozy. Dining was convenient. After dinner, I hit the hotel gym, worked up a good sweat, and then came back to the room for a refreshing shower before falling into a deep, beautiful sleep!

We recently stayed here for two months for a business trip with about 10 people. It took my boss 2-3 days to find this hostel, and we were all really happy with it. It's quiet yet conveniently located. The common area is super comfortable, and the shower water pressure is great and relaxing. The owner even provided good quality shower gel, shampoo, and toilet paper. The washing machine and dryer were reasonably priced to use. Honestly, it felt just like staying in a mid-range hotel, and the cleanliness of the bedding even surpassed some! The owner was always accommodating and helpful. A big thank you to the owner for taking care of us for a whole month. I specifically wanted to leave this good review to commend them.

The location is great, just a 7-8 minute walk from subway exit F. It's located within a residential complex, with the front desk and accommodations in separate buildings. The accommodation itself seems to be in a former residential building. This hostel offers all the usual amenities, including a rooftop and kitchen. The room was decent, generally clean and tidy, though that can depend on your roommates. The shower and bathroom facilities were average but mostly clean (again, depending on roommates). The hallway even had some lantern decorations, adding a touch of Chinese flair. The air conditioning in the room was excellent; with the thick duvet, I had a wonderfully sound sleep. Perhaps it's off-season, as I didn't see many other guests during my stay, and the entire floor was very quiet. There's a 20 RMB deposit for the dorm room key card, which you need to swipe to enter the building unit and again to enter the room. The key card also activates the electricity. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were polite. I only stayed one night, but I'd consider coming back if I'm in the area!

Amic Girls' Youth Hostel (Shenzhen Shekou Sea World Store)

As a solo traveler, I blindly booked the Amic Amy Girls' Hostel in Sea World, and it absolutely blew me away! This is hands down the best budget accommodation I've ever experienced. The location is incredibly convenient. The Shuikou subway station is just a few steps away, and it's a 10-minute walk to the Sea World commercial district, making exploring and dining super easy. The entire building is exclusively for women, with double-swipe card access for the main door and individual beds, and doors are locked at night, so solo female travelers feel incredibly safe. I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness! Housekeeping regularly cleans the entire place, and there's absolutely no odor. Each bed has a thick blackout curtain, a bedside night light, multi-port chargers, and a huge under-bed storage locker. Once you're inside the curtain, it's your own private little nook. The bathrooms are dry-wet separated, and the shower rooms even have air conditioning, so no waiting in line. The separate vanity area has a huge mirror, perfect for photos and makeup, plus there's a washer and dryer, which means packing so much less for short trips! The common areas are decorated in a gentle and calming style, with fresh flowers everywhere. It's great for both quiet work and chatting with fellow travelers. The other guests were all considerate, keeping quiet late at night. The front desk staff were gentle and attentive, and the check-in explanation was incredibly patient. To find such a thoughtful and comfortable female-only hostel at this price point is amazing. Students and solo female travelers, don't hesitate to book this place. I'll definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Shekou!

It's all together a new experience. Create ideas. With kind of future technology bed arranged. Old idea with new creative thinking design. Hostel with double deck beds, clean environment, mostly occupants mind their own business, helpful in needy times. Place is frequently cleaned. Convenient stay. Relaxing. Smooth check in. Budget and acceptable. Only setback is squad toilets. It is situated inside gated not guarded buildings, with the name in Chinese, not English. Look at the photos.

Stayed for a few days, it was very comfortable. My roommates were also very considerate. The photos are accurate; the landlord sent them to me directly, but they truly reflect the actual place. It's in the city center, and for this price and environment, it's much better than most hostels in Guangzhou. They provide disposable toothbrushes, shampoo, and body wash, and there are no restrictions on using the air conditioning. It's really great! 🌹🌹
