Hostels in Shandong, China

First time staying in a hostel, and I was extremely satisfied! There was air conditioning and a small fan on the bed. Disposable towels were provided daily, the shower room was very nice, and the bathroom was odor-free. There were even three cats helping out, hehe. If you like playing pool, you can play in the lobby. There was also a curfew posted, and the cleaning lady cleaned the rooms daily. Very satisfied! I'll definitely come back to Yantai next time to see the cats again.

The environment and facilities are really cool, but the service and enthusiasm are basically zero. There's no warmth or human touch here. The staff are the most apathetic I've ever encountered in a hostel. Don't expect any warmth or personal touch at this hostel. The staff are glued to their chairs behind the front desk. Any questions you have, even about lockers, are answered from behind the counter. You won't see any interaction between the staff and guests. There are at least three group messages daily promoting bar drinks, and you can really feel their urgent desire to generate extra income beyond the room fee. Beyond the staff's attitude, here are some areas I think could be improved: 1. The official account in the group only posts event announcements, without any instructions on how to participate. 2. There's zero interaction between the official account and guests in the group. 3. The hand towels in the restroom are water-soluble, which makes drying hands very inconvenient. There are new tissue shreds on the carpet outside the restroom every day. 4. During the May Day holiday when the hostel was full, if you went to the bathroom around 11 PM, the bath mat would already be soaking wet. 5. Many songs on the singing event's playlist are quite niche. Maybe add some popular songs? That would create a better sing-along atmosphere (shout out to the teachers who sang every night during the May Day holiday, you worked hard!) Aside from the staff's business-like attitude, everything else is fine, especially the beds which were very clean!

My solo trip to Weihai Station has successfully come to an end! I was so lucky to meet the gentle and easy-going hostel owner, the handsome and hardworking host brother who's also a Zhao Lei fan, and beautiful ladies from all over the country! ੭ ˙ᗜ˙ ）੭ The hostel facilities were quite complete, and it was kept very clean. I saw the hostel owner mopping and cleaning several times until 8 or 9 pm. Everyone was super kind and friendly. The hostel owner was also very cheerful, and my roommates were all very nice. If your itinerary is similar, you can team up with your roommate to travel together, so you won't feel lonely. I chose Weiba because of the reviews online, and the satisfaction was beyond my expectations, it was like straying into a dream. For the first time, I truly felt the youth hostel culture and understood why some people have a passion for youth hostels, because youth hostels provide a person with companions who share the same frequency of travel. ”The destination of travel is the scenery, and the process is the people.” This is what a young lady from Hong Kong who I met in Weihai said, and this is also how I feel about Weihai. I am grateful to the friends I met in Weihai for giving me such a memory. It is the memory of playing Bomb Cat together until 3:30 in the morning, and then we walked for an hour and a half to Yueban Bay to watch the sunrise on a whim, the memory of camping together to watch the sunset, the morning market, the Shandong University cafeteria, the fight against the emperor at Likou Mountain, the sunrise at Jiangkouzui, the sunset at the Jinhai Bay Pier, the tulips in Weihai Park, the Bomb Cat, the uno, the music, the bartender's cocktail, the boss's braised noodles, and the room nights that every friend renewed again and again.

Stayed here for two days, it was a great experience. After playing outside all day, returning to the courtyard felt like home. Because 960 fell in love with Badaguan and the sea of ​​Qingdao, he would go to watch the sunrise at his doorstep in the sleepy morning. It only takes six minutes to walk there, or three minutes if you run a little faster! The enthusiastic yet reserved boss and his wife don’t seem to be ordinary people, hahaha! I booked two rooms, one for myself and one for my friend. It's very close to Qingdao Station and is an all-female hostel. The front desk lady was very kind and, considering my heavy luggage, specifically arranged a room for me on the first floor. The main entrance has a lock, so you can't get in without a room card or password, which feels very secure. There are lockers in the room that can be opened with the room card. There's also a very cute little cat in the hostel. The beds have shelves and charging ports, and the curtains provide a sense of privacy. The hostel's common area has a memo board, mirrors, and the bathrooms and showers are very clean with good water pressure. The hairdryer is also powerful. You can't eat in the rooms, but there are tables, benches, and small sofas in the common area where you can relax. The bathrooms provide shampoo and shower gel, and there are disposable slippers. The only thing I didn't particularly like was that the mattress creaked every time I moved, but everything else was excellent. For those visiting Qingdao who are hesitant about staying in a hotel, I highly recommend considering Strawberry Hostel. Wishing everyone a fun and comfortable stay in Qingdao!

This hostel opened this year, and when I visited during the off-season, there were hardly any people. The hostel is huge, with a large common area and each room is also very spacious. It even has a washer-dryer combo. The owner is incredibly nice, but his photography skills are a bit poor. To be honest, seeing the pictures he took didn't even make me want to come, but once I arrived, I found the environment to be exceptionally nice. There's also a large balcony outside the common area, and every morning when I wake up, the sun shines through the windows, making it super warm. I stayed in a four-person room, and the lockers had clothes hangers. It's definitely worth staying in. It's super close to Hanlefang (a food delivery platform), making ordering takeout incredibly convenient.

I’m not gonna lie this was the best hostel I’ve been to in China and I’m travelling for more than a month. The owner is absolutely amazing, helpful, kind and happy. Also the other roommates at that time was so friendly and nice I had such a great time, it really make me feel like it was a small family 🥹 If I’m going back to Qufu one day, you can be sure I’m gonna booked this hostel again and for a longer time.

This was my first time staying in a hostel, and the environment was really great. Plus, it was only for girls, which made it feel safer – that was one of the main reasons I chose this hostel. The bed was also very comfortable and soft; the owner and the hostel staff were incredibly kind, and their pick-up service from the station was excellent, helping with my luggage. Truly good hotels don't need much advertising or positive reviews; we students will naturally promote them, haha. The hostel also had lots of little stickers for leaving messages, which was really thoughtful. I left one too, hoping the owner's business thrives, and that I'll recommend it to my friends next time they visit Qingdao, hehe.
