Hostels in Shandong, China

I had a flight with an overnight layover in Qingdao, so I opted to stay locally in a hotel. 'Locally' meant riding two stops on the subway, and catching the bus for two stops which altogether cost me less than £1. Probably about $1 US, or €1. However, I had to wait a while for the bus, so it took me about an hour. Upon arrival, the landlord treated me like a king and was exceptionally helpful. I can speak Chinese, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless people can speak a little Chinese and can read basic sentences. The hotel is fairly basic but, as I said, the proprietors are extremely accommodating and told me to ask if I needed anything. The landlord showed me where to eat locally (and physically took me there!) and when I left, he showed me where the nearest bus stop is (photo). I couldn't make the hot water work for a shower, but had I asked I'm sure they would have sorted it. I was in a bit of a rush in the morning and I didn't want to make a fuss. The bed was hard (like I Chinese prefer) but I slept well. There was no kettle in the room, but boiling water was provided. The area is out in the country, so if you want to see how ordinary Chinese live, this is a good opportunity. City hotels are quite westernised but this place is authentic Chinese. Pictures are of the bus stop and the subway station. Although I was told that a taxi might only cost me a little over a pound.

Excellent, truly a fantastic experience! Highly recommend it. If my itinerary wasn't so packed, I would have loved to stay a few more days. I'm usually not one to write reviews, but this experience was genuinely great.

The accommodation is also very nice. You can go to the May Fourth Square right outside the door. It is very convenient to enjoy the sea breeze and watch the light show. After graduation, I returned to Qingdao again. It felt like meeting an old friend. Everything was so familiar. See you later, Qingdao❤️❤️❤️

First time staying at a hostel and it was a great experience! Free parking was a big plus, making it very convenient. The bedding was super comfortable. Since I was on a business trip, it was nice to unwind in the lobby at night, listening to music and watching a game. The atmosphere was excellent, and I never felt bored. Highly recommend!

The location is perfect. 200 meters away from Daming Lake. Service is super cool, clean. I would like to suggest improving the air conditioning quality, provide toothbrush-toothpaste-minitowel.

The environment is clean and the boss cleans every day. The roommates are friendly and the life is convenient. I will come again next time.

The owner is super nice; it was really interesting chatting with him and learning a lot about hostel culture, which he really values. 👍🏻 The common area downstairs has a great atmosphere and you often meet people from all over the world. The location is also fantastic, very close to Hanlefang and Weihai Station. There's a lively sports park just a short walk away. And the cat 'manager' is very well-behaved!

A villa with different heights. Both the double bed and the 6-person bed are very soft and nice. It is very interesting. There is a garden, a swing, a billiard table, and an air-raid shelter. It is quite interesting.

It was already very late when I arrived at Qingdao North Station. The store owner picked me up in person for free, which was very heartwarming. When I arrived at Youmi Youth Hostel, I saw that it was clean and hygienic! Complete facilities! The environment is great! Especially the store guy's service is very thoughtful and enthusiastic! Must give five-star praise

Best hostel I've ever been to! This hostel opened recently so thanks to this there currently aren't a lot of guests staying, which is great for a quiet stay. Everything is clean, the rooms and bathrooms are large and convenient, and most importantly the manager is really nice! He will accommodate your stay to make it as pleasant as possible. The area around the hostel also seems newly built (the building where the hostel is also doesn't have many businesses at the moment) and everything is available within walking distance. If I have to stay in Weihai again, I will for sure come back to this place!
