Staying at ClinkNOORD Hostel in Amsterdam was such a fun and memorable experience! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed by the friendly and upbeat staff, who were always ready with a smile and great recommendations for exploring the city. The location, tucked away in the trendy Noord district, gave me a chance to experience a quieter, more local side of Amsterdam while still being just a quick (and free!) ferry ride from the bustling city center.
What I loved most about ClinkNOORD was the vibe—it’s lively and social without feeling overwhelming. The common areas, like ZincBAR and the library, were perfect for meeting fellow travelers or just relaxing after a day of exploring. One evening, I joined a live music event at the bar, and it turned into one of the highlights of my trip. The hostel also organizes activities like walking tours and cocktail workshops, which made it easy to connect with others.
The dorms were clean and comfortable, with thoughtful touches like privacy panels and USB ports by each bed—small details that made a big difference. I also appreciated how secure everything felt, with lockers for my belongings and keycard access throughout.
If I had to nitpick, breakfast was decent but not amazing—I ended up grabbing food from local spots instead. But honestly, with so many great cafés nearby, it wasn’t a big deal.
Overall, ClinkNOORD felt like more than just a place to sleep—it was an experience in itself. Whether you’re traveling solo or with friends, it’s the kind of place where you feel at home while still soaking up Amsterdam’s unique energy. I’d definitely stay here again!
It was fantastic! The room was clean, had a welcome drink, and everything was so comfortable. I was quite surprised how a hostel can be this clean! If you're looking for a place to stay in Amsterdam, you wouldn't regret making the choice of staying here.
I had a great experience staying at Generator Amsterdam! The hostel is stylish, clean, and well-located, with friendly staff and a vibrant atmosphere. Everything from the shared spaces to the rooms was well-maintained. The only downside was that they don’t accept cash, something I wasn’t aware of beforehand. It would’ve been helpful to know in advance. Otherwise, a fantastic stay!
First hostel I’ve ever felt unsafe at. There were a ton of creepy men. The staff was rude. The two guys who work at the front desk just drink and smoke all night. When asking for anything they act as though you’re inconveniencing them. I was called a N word by an elderly white guest. It appears maybe they are also a health care facility because everyday there was some elderly person with dementia staying there. It was strange . Rooms were insufferably hot. Two days I couldn’t sleep there had to stay with a friend nearby. It’s far from the city center so be prepared to take the train 30-40 mins everywhere . The art is nice
I booked a all female domitory and really liked the facilities such as a light bulb on the bed…. It was perfect for night readers, and the design was such that even if you turn on the light people won’t get disturbed. The room was clean and bathroom was clean too. Would recommend 💯

The location was fantastic, 5 minute walk from the central station, and located right near the Red Light District. The rooms themselves were very small. The cube is a queen sized bed so my wife and I had plenty of room to sleep, but there was not really much space for our luggage. Free coffee in the morning, every morning was great though!
-taxes were added when we arrived, each night we add to pay 2€ per person plus others taxes not mentioned when we booked.
-it was very noisy, all night we could hear slamming doors and people talking from Time to Time.
-The bedroom was very big and well equiped (fridge) and the host was nice and handful.
For the price it was overall correct.
Overall, I am very satisfied. Because we are a couple of girls, we don't have to worry about safety issues. When I stayed in the room of eight people, there were only me and another friend, so the favorability was greatly improved.
The kitchen is well-equipped. You can buy things in the supermarket next door, and it is also very convenient to cook in the kitchen.

LLizzi BrownThe hostel is in a good location out of the centre, it's an easy tram ride in to Centraal with very frequent trams.
You get what you pay for, it's cheap and cheerful but very good value for budget accomodation just a short trip from Amsterdam city centre.
The beds were very comfortable, the room was larger than expected and very airy as we were in an attic room and all the windows opened.
The stairs were a bit treacherous, very steep and winding but a nice feature of an old traditional building.
The showers and facilities were fine, kept clean by other travellers and staff and the kitchen was fine too.
I would definitely stay here again for cheap, reasonable accommodation.
