The location is excellent, in the town center, with many restaurants and supermarkets nearby. It's convenient for visiting the volcano and close to the airport. Cleanliness, at least superficially, seems acceptable. Breakfast ends around 8:00 or 8:30, consisting of chocolate waffles and coffee… Is there a deposit for check-in? All credit card information was manually entered, which was a first for me and made me very uneasy afterwards. My security code was also specifically verified… I suggest checking if cash is available.

I chose this place for my solo trip because hotels were too expensive. The location is absolutely fantastic, right on a main street, so I felt perfectly safe walking alone at night. Even though it's a capsule hotel, they provide towels, thin slippers, and a toothbrush. The sheets were clean, and it felt private enough that I could actually sleep. Since there are Japanese staff, communication in Japanese was easy. Everyone staying there was traveling solo, so it was very quiet. I even wondered if it was the quietest place in all of Hawaii (lol). The shared lounge/living area was also quiet, and you could get free tea and water. My capsule was next to the women-only door, so I frequently heard the door opening and closing in the middle of the night and early morning, which was a bit bothersome. My only real complaint would be the shared showers. I stayed for two nights, and on the second day, someone hadn't rinsed out their hair after using the shower, and the sinks were also full of hair. I guess that's to be expected for this price point. Other than that, everything else was good. I think it's a great place if you can tolerate the showers.

Not my favorite room. Had to share the bathroom with 8 people. But the staff were friendly and helpful. Location is great. I love how they host events every night and have a gym. They also provide free swimming gears and towels. I made some great connections while staying there. I would go back again.

Quite a nice hostel with helpful and friendly staff. Accommodation well organized, detailed information sent in advance by email. Access to the hostel and room by individual code. Mini breakfast with coffee included, kitchen available if someone wants to cook something themselves. During rush hour you have to wait a bit for a bathroom. Without your own car, access by buses (to the transit center they go about every 30 minutes).

This was my first time staying in hostel and I definitely want to stay in hostel when I get to come back in Hawaii. They offer so many opportunities to meet people from hostel. The rooftop was great and the restroom was also clean. But the bed was little uncomfortable because I stayed in the top and I could feel every little move from the person staying under.

I really like this century-old volcano hotel. Warm and comfortable. Booked two rooms downstairs and upstairs, I like it very much. If I go to the volcano again, I will definitely stay here again. The service is also very warm.

The location is fantastic! It's right by the bus stop and super close to the beach. The staff are really friendly, and there's coffee and muffins on the first floor. Plus, they offer free luggage storage and there's an open kitchen if you want to cook.

Everything is very good ~ I recommend it to see small sweet potatoes. The first time I encountered a house that looked better than the picture They have a total of three houses in cottage (single house). With the baby, I was lucky to book it. The order shows that it is a sea view villa. Tell the hotel in advance that they will bring children, and they can understand it. Behind the villa is the Longan tree. I told the housekeeper to let the children experience picking the Longan a little. It is really delicious and not very sweet. You can go early, because it is not very easy to find at night, and the navigation will go to another place according to the address, or it is better to go during the day. Open the window is the sea view, very beautiful. There is a special kitchen, laundry room... I will not regret that Ha ~ is 20 minutes drive from hilo and 10 minutes from Akaka Falls.

The hotel started 1916. Location near to Lihue airport is a plus. Condition is run down in the exterior but makes up for it with newly fixed up rooms. Clean.
