Room was quite small but very thoughtfully laid out. Bed was extremely comfortable and the amenities were good quality - Molton Brown toiletries, GHD hairdryer and Nespresso coffee machine. The complimentary drink at 5pm was a nice touch. The only downside was the lack of breakfast in the hotel itself. However, we had a good discounted breakfast at The Huxley and a 50% discount at Castle Terrace car park.

The location of this hotel is just on the border of the city centre, so it feels a lot quieter compared to right on the High Street. My room was a windowless Queen Room, with plenty of storage space for 2 people.  I quite like the design of the room, where 1 side of the room is the washing facilities. Unfortunately, the night when I stayed, there were many loud door slamming during the night.  I've got woken up many times. I had the breakfast downstairs at around 9:30am, and it closes at 10am.  The hot food was very dry, so probably been sitting around for some time.  If I stay here again, I would go elsewhere for breakfast.

Good clean room, with a 20-30 min walk into town. Check in / check out process could be tweaked to be more efficient but great stay overall

Abut of a walk from the shopping street but for the price paid, its worth it. As my booking was a last minute booking, i was given the highest floor, loft room and there is no lift. So its abit of a climb.

Perfect location, offered breakfast and bar as well (though I didn't try), room is large but just a slight issue of the bed. I understand fitting 3 beds is pretty hard, but each level is so short you always bang your head. Overall speaking it's quite good, especially each bed has 2 sockets to use!

We were 4 friends travelling to Edinburgh to explore Scotland. The hostel is really close to the train station and located in a prime location. The receptionists were all really helpful and friendly. Would recommend this to any friend group or solo travellers

The hotel room and bathroom were indeed too small; there wasn't even enough space to open a suitcase, so it had to be stored under the bed. The view outside the room was decent. The main advantage is the hotel's excellent location, right opposite Haymarket. You can walk almost anywhere, which is incredibly convenient, and there are bus stops right outside. The hotel breakfast was just so-so, with limited variety and options. It was a typical English breakfast, not bad. The reception service was mediocre, especially the male front desk staff who gave me the wrong room number twice, even though I showed him the room number written down. He seemed unbothered and unwilling to help.

The staff is very nice, polite and helpful. The room was clean, beds were super comfortable. The street was quite noisy at night, but we still had a very good sleep. The kitchen was right next to our room and it felt like sauna there, however it had everything needed for cooking. Luggage storage is available at £5 per bag (can be paid by card). No deposit needed on checkin. If we ever visit Edinburgh in summer again, we will definitely stay at Destiny campus.

Although many people don't have good reviews of it, I'm going to give it high marks. It's not far from the city centre and is cheaper than other hotels. The room is clean and spacious and staff are friendly. It also offers free toiletries at the reception. I especially recommend this place for students who are coming to Edinburgh for traveling, as it has no difference from other student flats!

I had a really pleasant stay at the Britannia Hotel in Edinburgh with my fiancée. The location was one of the biggest highlights — it’s very accessible to major attractions, especially Dean Village, which made exploring the city incredibly convenient. The breakfast was great with a good variety of options, and it was a perfect start to our mornings. The food overall was satisfying and well-prepared. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and always ready to assist with anything we needed, which made our stay even more comfortable. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and had all the basic amenities required for a relaxing stay. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable experience. A great choice for anyone looking for a convenient location, good food, and welcoming service in Edinburgh.
