During the Edinburgh Festival, hotel prices across the city skyrocket, so I was really pleased to snag a capsule bed here. It's in a prime location, right behind St Giles' Cathedral, and stepping outside puts you right in the middle of the Fringe street performances. The facilities, environment, management, and service inside are excellent, and safety is well-managed. Even though I booked an 8-day stay in a mixed dorm, everyone was respectful, and travelers were very considerate of each other's space. The downstairs bar and restaurant offer great value for money, with guests receiving a 15% discount. The food and drinks are high quality. The only downside was the mattress, which was too soft and made sleeping and getting up a bit uncomfortable.

Without doubt, this was one of our finest hotel stays in recent memory. From the moment we arrived, Novotel Edinburgh set the tone with a level of warmth and professionalism that genuinely stood out. The staff were incredibly helpful throughout and what really demonstrated this was a small but telling moment: we lost our key card during the stay, and it was replaced immediately, without any fuss or inconvenience whatsoever. It's the kind of effortless service that puts you completely at ease, and it's something you remember long after checkout. The breakfast deserves a special mention — it was simply top notch. The spread was so good that holding back was near impossible, and it's the kind of breakfast that makes you actually look forward to the morning. Freshly prepared, well-stocked, and served with care — it's one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had. The location is outstanding. Sitting just a mile from Edinburgh Castle, you're right in the heart of one of the most iconic cities in the UK. Public transport couldn't be more convenient either  buses are accessible right behind the hotel, making it incredibly easy to get around the city without needing a car at all. The one area that needs addressing is parking. The hotel's own car park is frequently full, which meant we had to use the nearby NCP instead. To the hotel's credit, they did provide a discount for the NCP - a thoughtful gesture that softened the inconvenience. However, it's worth noting for electric vehicle drivers: the EV charging at the NCP is painfully slow, so factor that into your plans if you're arriving in an electric car. A heads-up from the hotel at check-in would go a long way. Parking frustrations aside, Novotel Edinburgh is a brilliant base for exploring the city - exceptional staff, an unmissable breakfast, and a location that's hard to beat. We'd return without hesitation.

This is an excellent hotel! The reception staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Upon check-in, they immediately offered a glass of champagne, which was a lovely touch. Our room was clean, pleasant, and had everything we could need: a Dyson hairdryer, a ghd straightener, a clothes steamer, and a completely free mini-bar. The mini-bar was stocked with beer, sodas, cocktails, and various snacks. The bed was super comfortable! Our room had a view of The Balmoral Hotel. Breakfast was amazing: there was a buffet with delicious options and the ability to order from a menu, including a traditional Scottish breakfast, Eggs Benedict with salmon, and more. If we're ever in Edinburgh again, we'll definitely stay here!

I had a wonderful stay at Premier Inn Edinburgh City Centre (Lauriston Place). The hotel was exceptionally clean, and the room was comfortable and well-maintained. The location is perfect — very convenient and within walking distance to many attractions, restaurants, and shops. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help, which made the experience even better. The amenities provided were excellent and met all my expectations. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for solo travellers. I would happily stay here again on my next visit to Edinburgh.

Affordable, quaint, and friendly staff. My only issue was that I didn’t have my passport nor driving permit. They were with the government, as o had to renew my document. I did, however, habe my working ID badge, photos of my passport, permit, and booking email. I even had mt credit cards and numerous cards with my name. She almost didn’t let me in. I understand these are rules, but I had everything, including an email saying my passport and permit are being sent back to me. I was eventually let in by Lex, when I showed her the email from the DBS. Lex also printed a work document for me. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel, except for the many flights of stairs, I’m strong, bit it is exactly that: a place for backpackers and very young people. I slept really well, as it’s a nice quiet street even when busy. Thank you.

Amazing service and room, the restock on shortbread biscuits really topped it off. My guy at the reception was great for information and helping us out. The hotel location is perfect, right next to victoria street and when you step outside you have a clear view of the castle. The facilities are good, with a sauna and swimming pool nearby. Only thing I would mention is the shower temperature not being above luke warm but that’s personal preference. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Great location, right by the castle and attractions. It's also very close to museums and popular photo spots. There's a highly-rated breakfast place downstairs, and Victoria Street has many pubs frequented by locals. Overall, a fantastic experience.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The view from the window was absolutely amazing and really made my day — waking up to such a beautiful scene instantly put me in a great mood. The front desk staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional, which made check-in and communication very smooth. The Christmas decorations were stunning and created such a warm, festive atmosphere throughout the hotel. The room was very spacious, spotlessly clean, and extremely comfortable. Overall, this stay made me feel relaxed and genuinely happy. I would definitely love to come back and highly recommend this hotel to others.

The location is excellent, within walking distance of the Old Town attractions and the train station, with plenty of supermarkets and restaurants nearby. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, including an elevator. The family room we booked had one large bed and two single beds, and it was very spacious. We were given a room on the 4th floor, which was very quiet. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and slippers are not provided, so you need to bring your own. Coffee and black tea are available in the room, and you can also get them at the front desk. The buffet breakfast is £11.99 for adults, and children can join for just an additional £1. Daily cleaning is not provided; you need to notify the front desk or hang the 'clean my room' sign on the door for towel changes and trash disposal. There's only 30 minutes of free internet per day. Considering the cheap price we paid, I still think the hotel is quite good.

This is a fantastic hotel! The design is sleek and the facilities are user-friendly, truly reflecting a people-oriented approach. The staff are enthusiastic and passionate. The innovative entrance design transforms the otherwise cramped hallway into an artistic space!
