"I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Haymarket Hotel in Edinburgh. I stayed in a spacious King Room overlooking the garden, and I absolutely loved it. The room was huge, with beautiful high ceilings and a wonderful sense of space and air. The Victorian character of the building gave the room a special atmosphere. It was quiet and peaceful, which is quite unusual in Edinburgh, and I slept extremely well. The bed was very comfortable, and the room had everything I needed, including a fridge, safe, fan and plenty of furniture and storage space. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the bed linen was fresh and comfortable. The location is excellent, just a couple of minutes' walk from Haymarket Station, making it very convenient for exploring the city. The reception staff were friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. I really appreciated being able to leave my suitcase before check-in, and it was also very convenient that I could leave my luggage after check-out until late in the evening. I truly enjoyed my stay here. I loved the location, the size of the room and the overall atmosphere of the hotel. I have found my hotel in Edinburgh and will definitely stay here again on my next visit."

"Although it's a bit of a walk to most of Edinburgh's main tourist attractions (averaging about 30 minutes), Calton Hill is only a 10-minute stroll away. There's also the St James Quarter, a shopping center with everything you could need, just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, along with an affordable Tesco supermarket at the same distance. Plus, if you're doing a Rabbie's Tour like I did (I went to the Isle of Skye), the hotel is super close to the departure point at Edinburgh Bus Station, about a 3-minute walk. The only slight drawback was my room was on the basement level with no elevator, making check-in and check-out a bit of a struggle. The staff offered to help with my bags, but mine was really heavy, so I felt a bit awkward asking. You might want to take them up on their offer! (Bonus tip: Directly across from Tesco, you'll find the Sherlock Holmes statue and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Birthplace – a pleasant surprise for fans!)"

The location is super convenient, right across from the train station on Princes Street. The breakfast was the best we had throughout our entire UK trip. The service was excellent, and all the staff were really friendly. They even gave us two complimentary drinks on our first night. We were originally booked into another hotel for the rest of our trip, but because we enjoyed our stay so much here, we promptly extended it for another night.

I landed at around 7 PM and was able to check in early – this hotel is incredibly thoughtful, a definite super-rave review! Not having to drag my luggage around while waiting for check-out time instantly melted away my travel fatigue. My impression of this place is through the roof! The most convenient thing is its location right next to Calton Hill. I could just stroll out and be there, perfect for sightseeing and getting those Instagram-worthy shots. Plus, for a UK hotel, the room was surprisingly spacious. It didn't feel cramped at all, comfort was top-notch. Overall, the experience was fantastic. From the flexible check-in policy and convenient location to the roomy accommodations, I truly felt I made the right choice.

This hotel is ideally located right next to Haymarket Station, making travel super convenient. We were able to walk to all the city's attractions in just over ten minutes. Our room was compact but well-designed, spotless, and dry. The bedding was wonderfully soft and comfortable, the shower had consistent water pressure, and the smart lighting was a thoughtful touch. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and attentive, and check-in was a breeze.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel that other travellers should know what to expect. I stayed in a single room on the top floor and was very disappointed, especially considering the price. The room was much smaller than I had expected and felt rather cramped. I paid ÂŁ136 through Trip.com, even with a discount, and I simply did not feel that the room offered value for money. The room looked tired and dated. The carpet did not look very fresh, the furniture was old-fashioned but not in a charming or historic way, and there were marks on the walls that could easily have been touched up. The bedside lamp also appeared to be damaged, as the lampshade was noticeably crooked and could not be adjusted. I would also like to mention that the room and bathroom were clean, and the bed linen was fresh and clean. I knew when I booked that the room did not include a safe or a fridge, as this was mentioned in the description. However, for a four-star hotel at this price, I still feel that a safe and at least a small fridge should be provided. The television was also very small, and overall the room felt very basic for the price and hotel rating. The bathroom itself was a reasonable size, but it was not very practical. There was no shelf above the sink for toiletries, which was inconvenient. In the shower, the large shampoo and conditioner bottles were placed on the floor of the shower, meaning I had to keep bending down to reach them. I would also like to mention that access to the upper floors involves a very steep spiral staircase. I was aware that there was no lift, but I did not expect the staircase to be so steep and difficult to climb. As I was not comfortable in the room, I asked whether it might be possible to move to a different room. Unfortunately, there were no other rooms available. I had originally planned to stay in Edinburgh for another night, but I decided to move to a different hotel instead. The location of the hotel is good and convenient for Waverley Station, and the staff were polite and friendly. However, my overall experience did not meet my expectations for a four-star hotel, especially at this price. Unfortunately, I would not choose to stay at this hotel again.

Super stay! The hotel is ideally located, right next to a tram stop. The room is clean, modern, and very quiet. The Wi-Fi connection is excellent. The breakfast is delicious and varied. Nearby, there's also a shopping center with a cinema, a bowling alley, a roller park, and many other activities. This is a real plus for families with children.

The hotel room and bathroom were indeed too small; there wasn't even enough space to open a suitcase, so it had to be stored under the bed. The view outside the room was decent. The main advantage is the hotel's excellent location, right opposite Haymarket. You can walk almost anywhere, which is incredibly convenient, and there are bus stops right outside. The hotel breakfast was just so-so, with limited variety and options. It was a typical English breakfast, not bad. The reception service was mediocre, especially the male front desk staff who gave me the wrong room number twice, even though I showed him the room number written down. He seemed unbothered and unwilling to help.

Excellent Location, but Serious Security Lapses I recently stayed at this hotel and found it to be a bit of a mixed bag. While there are some undeniable perks to the property, a few significant service and security issues made for a rather unsettling experience. The Highlights Prime Location: This is easily the hotel's strongest suit. It’s situated right next to Haymarket station, and there is a bus stop literally just outside the front door. Getting into the city centre takes no more than 10 minutes, making it a perfect base for exploring. Commendable Service: The reception team provided a decent welcome. I’d like to give a special mention to Shreyas, who was incredibly helpful and professional throughout our interactions. Quality Dining: We ate at the on-site restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. The food was of a high standard, and the waitstaff were attentive and friendly. Room Maintenance & Tech Issues Unfortunately, the shine started to wear off once we settled into the room: Housekeeping Oversights: Despite this being a multi-day stay, the complimentary water bottles were never replaced after the first day. Faulty Tech: The in-room tablet was practically useless. It kept restarting due to a battery fault; ironically, it even cut out while I was trying to use it to contact reception. Privacy Concerns: When we requested extra toilet roll, the staff member who delivered it attempted to walk straight into the room using their key, rather than knocking and waiting for us to answer. It was a complete breach of basic hospitality etiquette. A Major Security Concern The most distressing part of the trip occurred on our second day. Upon returning to our room in the evening, we were shocked to find the main door open. It appears the cleaning staff had failed to secure the door after finishing their rounds. Finding your hotel room left open to the public is, quite frankly, scary. It’s a massive security fail that overshadowed the rest of the stay. While the location is brilliant, the hotel desperately needs to tighten up its staff training and safety protocols. Would I stay again? Only if I were certain that the security and maintenance issues had been addressed.

When I was about to check in, I got in a big queue, but the room and the hostel were very neat and clean. In my life, this is the best hostel I've ever stayed in. I can't believe this hostel can be operated and kept so clean. You can also enjoy all FIFA matches here. There are so many televisions here. They also have lockers to keep your bag pack if your flight is later than the check-out time. Hostel management takes my love and that of and my small country, Bangladesh đŸŽó §ó ąó łó Łó Žó żđŸ‡§đŸ‡©

The hotel is very close to the city centre and there is a lovely walk to be had that takes you along the Water of Leith. With regards to the room; it was too warm to properly relax with no air-con controls to lower the temperature. The shower head kept on slipping down the pole, great if you're a small child, not so good if you're 6ft tall. Breakfast area had very few salt grinders on the tables. Staff member knew about this but no solution was offered other than to ask a patron at another table to borrow theirs! The above factors did not affect our stay in Edinburgh as we chose a hotel with low prices and our expectations were never going to be that high. In this case you get what you pay for.
