A very good hotel. A welcome card and red wine were given when checking in. Cheese, small biscuits with cheese and fig jam were given when checking out. Drinks and beer in the refrigerator were free. The room was cleaned very clean every day. Bottled water and glasses were placed on the bedside before going to bed every day. A lipstick and a sleep-aid fragrance were placed in the corner of the quilt. It is said that this is the only hotel with natural hot springs in Bath. The hot spring feels very good. Many parts of the body can be sprayed with water for massage. After the hot spring, there are dry steam, wet steam and infrared steam. The quilt in the room is very comfortable, light and warm. It should be goose down. English breakfast, milk tea is good👍 The improvement is that the bathroom shower is not separated into dry and wet. After taking a shower carefully, there is still a lot of water on the ground! The location is very good, just near Bath Baths and Bath Abbey, and there are many restaurants around. The mother of a young handsome man at the front desk is from Hong Kong, China, and can speak some Chinese. I will choose this hotel next time I stay in Bath🏨

This is an apartment in a great location, next to Bath Pedestrian Street, and the Bath Bath is close by. But do n’t live here if you do n’t have enough English or you are in a hurry. Because the hotel's reception is at another hotel. When I arrived, I called the phone above the door, and the phone gave me a password to open the door. The apartment door was unlocked and the key was on the table. The door of the apartment was indeed locked. They asked me to wait. After waiting for 20 minutes, it was raining outside, and I was in a bad mood with the children. So English is not good, or do n’t book here if you only live one or two days. But the room facilities and equipment are still very complete. It is the second floor where we live, the ground is not flat, the ground of the whole building is very inclined to the side, so the feeling of living is still a bit uncomfortable

The location is good, too close to the train station, less than 5 minutes walk, right on the main street. The landlord guy is very handsome. The room we stayed in was better, with two beds, the room would be a bit smaller, but there was a wash basin in the room, and the bathroom was public, but it was relatively clean. It is close to the main street, but the windows have two floors, and the sound insulation is better, and the curtains are good for shading. Breakfast is included, and the boss can also fry eggs, bacon, and sausages, which is also free. It's very close to the city, and it's very convenient to walk to all the attractions. After all, Bath is not big. In peak season, housing prices are high, except for slightly higher prices.

The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, equipped with a mini-bar and a kettle. Breakfast was excellent, featuring a make-your-own waffle station. There's also a small gym available. A large overnight parking lot is conveniently located just a short distance from the hotel, which is great if you're driving. Just one block north, you'll find a variety of restaurants, and the famous Roman Baths are only a few more steps away. However, the front desk staff spoke extremely fast, seemingly oblivious to the fact that we were foreigners and struggled to understand. They just rattled on. This really highlighted a lack of consideration and customer service on their part!

Attended on Tuesday 27th Feb. Paid a little extra for room with a bath as like the couple ****** we are, we wanted a bath in Bath. My wife's first time ever visiting here. The hotel is a lovely setting, there is history here and all the staff have been wonderful. Close to the station, literally in front of it, and close to everything. Had the great pleasure of having many encounters with Tim, one of the reception staff and I believe concierges. Super pleasant and always helpful. We had breakfast included and after having that this morning can honestly say it's bang for your buck, with hot food to order including steak and eggs, (best steak my wife has had in the UK), a breakfast grill and a selection of others plus a typical selection of baked goods and fruits. The bar is pleasant and we enjoyed drinks last night before heading up to our room. Strawberry daiquiri we have had many times but the Amaretto sour was an interesting twist with a strong lemon zest. The only downside to the visit would be the bath/shower experience. Lukewarm bath and cold shower when we attempted it last night. This morning we got hot water for a total of ten mins to share before it went cold again. Not the worst thing all in all but a downside considering the extra pricing for a bathtub room. I was however assured that had I brought it to the desks attention I would have been assisted and I had just done the British thing of not wanting to fuss. One last perk that made an impact to me; free luggage storage. We checked out early so we could make the best of our time exploring Bath before we ride home. We were offered free luggage storage for even after we checked out so we could come back in quick before our train at 3pm and grab our bags and go, no extra charge. Fantastically useful as the Abbey tour does not allow luggage inside and we wanted to go. Anyway, thank you to Tim and all the staff at The Royal for making us feel welcomed and our time there special, we will definitely be coming back someday soon and will stay again. - Liam and Jenny Stephenson, Room 109. The room is actually nice and quite big. There is a living room and a bedroom. Our room faces north, facing the big tree and the house on the mountain in the distance. Both windows can be opened. There are no gauze curtains, only curtains, but the house opposite is not facing is actually okay. The bathroom is very clean, with typical German-style bathroom facilities, wall-mounted toilets, beige tiles, large bathtubs and showers, and a hot towel rack for plumbing. Simple and practical. Facilities: There is no refrigerator in the room, so there is a pantry on the second floor, which has a refrigerator and some free soda, milk, popcorn, and fruit. Two bottles of mineral water are given in the room. After drinking, you can go to the pantry's filtered water facility to fill new ones. Hygiene: The sanitation is okay, at least the bathroom is cleaned very clean. I saw that the bed was made when I came back at night, but they didn't help fold the clothes, which is different from Asian hotels. Service: The hotel bar is very good, a pot of tea is only 4 pounds, and the breakfast is also delicious, so you don't have to go out for breakfast. The service staff are also very enthusiastic. The location is very good, it takes about 10 minutes to walk from the station. Bath itself is very small, so it is close to everything. Overall, it is a good choice to stay in Bath, at least this hotel does not require climbing a slope. 😂

This is an excellent hotel. Our (comfort) twin room was clean, spacious and quiet, the public rooms are comfortable and stylish and the service was excellent. Being regular visitors to Bath we were a little concerned the hotel location and value was too good to be true and we were delighted to be proved wrong. £15 a night for parking in Bath is well priced and while the hotel is up a steep hill, this is far from unexpected in Bath! We were able to walk everywhere and late check-in meant we could be confident of a smooth arrival after our evening show when we arrived in Bath too early for our room to be ready. Highly recommended.

Positives - excellent receptionist (Vipin) and without his help I would have probably checked out early. Has parking. Reasonable location and access into central Bath. Has an electric kettle and a pack of cookies. Not so positives - In desperate need of upgrade, creaking floors, wash basin outside the bathroom. It isn’t for work related travellers as you cannot even use an iron without tripping off the entire building main switch and once that happen there is no 24 hour active reception. No fan or iron provided in room so you have to ask. Tiny computer monitor used as a make shift TV that you have to pull out of a closet. No drinking water in room. Value for money not there as many better locations available at same or lower price.

Advantages: Leaving the lively city center, just living on the first floor, the beautiful garden outside the window, has a really relaxing time. The room is large and the facilities are old but complete with a vintage feel. The breakfast bagel is a big highlight, and the standard breakfast is comparable to other UK hotels, which is amazingly delicious. The service staff is also very warm and friendly, but also very humorous, all kinds of jokes with me. Disadvantages: My so-called big bed is made up of two single beds, one can't sleep in the middle.

The hotel room is small, the hotel waiter is bad. When we checked in at night, we told him that we wanted to add two breakfasts, and he said that we could pay for them tomorrow. We were worried that the price would be different if we paid at night and the next morning. The male waiter kept saying no, and insisted that I pay tomorrow. He said it was the same price, but the next morning, a female waiter changed and charged 3 pounds more per person. Travelers who book hotels in the future should pay attention to avoid scams. The small bridge leading into the village will stop a car and charge one pound.

The hotel had great location and tasty breakfast. The room was nice and good toilet. Great room service for bringing your delivered food to your room for you. However the staff needs to improve their communication skill and knowledge. I was told that I could buy breakfast prior to the day I want the breakfast and I didn’t have to book a time slot. However when I wanted to check out I was told that I was charged the price of the breakfast that is bought on the day, not the day prior.

Its meant to be a luxury-ish short weekend getaways before my job starts as my partner can't take a long leave. The delux double room is a huge disappointmemt.Understably, it is a very premium location and other guest probably pay a lot more. However, I wouldn't think of paying over £300 to get a room feeling like a old day servant's room. Being placed at the roof extension room with the view mostly blocked, the floor makes the typical old wooden cracking noise as we walk. The curtain, carpet and bathroom are not in the best condition. The glass on top of the table and desk are not well fitted. Another thing is that, without any previous notice, the spa closed foe maintenance the morning we leave. The fake plants make it look less luxury than its branded. The plus side, it is kind of inclusive which the spa pool, gym and breakfast are included. The breakfast is quite nice if you like English breakfast or they have some basic buffet.

Central location helps to overcome the cramped feeling staying in the annexe. The car was parked at the other end of town and drop off was difficult to say the least but it is what it is. I had no reason whatsoever to check out the main building reception, breakfast area perhaps a bar and lounge area too because nothing pointed me there! So generally, it was a room in a loft space built to an ”average” measure. I never like shower cubicles where I tend to bang elbows and worry about breaking something when I drop the soap. Breakfast price was horrendous so no inclination to walk in on the hop to check it out for the 2 nights stayed. I felt detached, cramped and in a bed-sit like accommodation. It is what it is.

The hotel's location and cleanliness were excellent. The rooms were very large. The staff were helpful and friendly. We didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on that, but a hotel this nice definitely has a good breakfast. If I were to go back, I would definitely stay at this hotel again. It's about a six-minute walk to the center. I look forward to returning. The only thing I didn't like was that we specifically requested a quiet location, away from the elevator. However, they had assigned it directly across from the staff room, and almost every 10 minutes, someone would come in and out, and the door would slam, which started early in the morning. That was the only downside. A hotel I can definitely recommend. Best regards.

Date of stay: February 2024

One of the cheaper hotels that we could find in Bath but it wasn't a budget stay. We booked a double room with a sofa bed and got upgraded to two doubles and a sofa bed so the kids were happy. All the staff were very professional and nothing was too much trouble. There were complimentary cookies and popcorn on offer. Location was perfect for the tourist sites of Bath.
