Pestana Alvor Beach Villas

My elderly parents stayed at the Pestana beach villas for 2 wks. They were really looking forward to their long awaited, hard earned holiday but were very disappointed. On arrival they had to wait nearly 4 hours before they could go to their apartment. They were aware that check in wasn't until 3pm but were told it would probably be possible earlier. My elderly parents had been travelling since 4 in the morning and were not permitted to enter their villa one minute before 3pm. Prior to their arrival I asked if I could see where they would be staying. I was refused but I was informed that I could request ground or first floor accommodation . I requested first floor but that wasn't granted. The accommodation itself was very poor, and in need of an up date. The minuscule kitchen was inadequately equipped. On multiple occasions they had no hot water in the mornings, having to have cold showers and treck over to reception to try to resolve the issue. They were supplied with shabby towels with holes. The access to the villa was a death trap, especially for elderly people coming back late at night in the dark, as the pavement outside was in a dreadful state of repair as my photos show. Mum fell on a large hole which had not been fenced off and was left exposed. Clearly there was maintenance being carried out, however my parents were misled regarding the extent of this when booking. Extremely poor level of care and poor standards.

Excellent location close to beach, pools and other hotel amenities, villa layout good and well-equipped, cleaned every day. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Short walk to local restaurants and shop. We seldom find somewhere where we would consider returning, but this holiday was so great we are very likely to book again in the future.

Just back from Pestana Alvor Beach Villas. Our first visit, five golfers, couldn't have been better. Staff were welcoming, friendly and always helpful. The facilities were first class, the villas excellent fit for our needs. Alvors good restaurants in easy reach. We will be back.

My wife, son and his wife and 3 year old daughter stayed in the Pestana Alvor Park hotel this October. We were struck with the quality of service we received, the friendliness of the staff and the overall condition of the hotel. We would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone considering a stay in Alvor, Portugal.

We had an excellent stay at Alvor Beach Villas. We have previously stayed at Dom João hotel and decided to stay in the villas this year. From our late night arrival right up to check out every member of staff we encountered was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was super clean and pool area was great. We enjoyed our breakfast every morning in the main hotel which has a great selection of fresh food. Main highlight was the made to order omelettes the chef was super! We can’t wait to stay again next year. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.
